Cleansers -Vichy - Purete Thermale Demaquillant Integral One Step Cleanser 3in1
Radchickee 4/10/2013 12:55:00 PM
A disappointment for me. This doesn't remove makeup, despite what the packaging claims, especially eye makeup. It works better when you wipe off, otherwise just rinsing leaves a film. For me, this is OK as a morning cleanser, when I have no makeup on anyway, as it doesn't dry out the skin, but I wouldn't repurchase this. I don't really like products that come in tubes because its hard to get all the product out at the end, and there is a lot of waste.
Concealers -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot Concealer
Radchickee 4/10/2013 12:25:00 PM
I bought this product based on great reviews, and have used it on the undereye area. I realize its not meant for this area, but it seemed to have better coverage than the undereye version. While I do think it provides fairly good coverage and doesn't crease, I have a recurring problem with irritation. Each time I wear this my eyes feel irritated and get red. The packaging isn't the greatest. The large sponge tip doens't seem to be the most hygienic, and the ball is quite large, so its tough to be precise. I end up sponging some on the back of my hand, then using a brush or my fingers to apply. It helps make it more precise, but you waste more product that way. I wouldn't rebuy simply because of the irritation.
Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-color Bold Nudes for Hazel
Radchickee 3/5/2013 4:31:00 PM
I bought this trio mainly because I was intrigued by the deepest color. It looks like a deep indigo blue in the package. When you put it on, it goes on lighter than expected because its not that highly pigmented. It's also got a touch of purple. I do like this deepest shade. The lightest shade is an ivory with a hint of shimmer. It's a bit too light and chalky but not too bad. The peach shade sort of frightened me because it looks very orangey. But it goes on lovely. It's a pale shimmery peach. If you're afraid of orange eyeshadow like I am, don't be afraid of this. Overall, all of these colors are less pigmented than I was expecting but I like this mix, and I'm happy with this trio.
Sadly, this doesn't remove makeup. It's a non lathering soapy liquid with a very light pleasant scent, but I have to wash my face at least twice to get the makeup off. I just don't feel like I'm getting my face as clean as I should. I like to use it in the mornings because I'm not wearing makeup yet, but its a bit of a hassle to have two different cleansers. I won't buy this again.
Wow, I'm pleasantly surprised at this mascara. I can't believe how well this holds a curl. This gives great separation of lashes, a deep black color, and no clumping at all. I really like this. The only negative I can say is that it is really hard to remove. I end up using a lot of remover and a lot of tugging. I sort of think its worth it for the lash effect though.
I like this primer so far. I am using the lighter shade and its a good match. Helps shadow stay on without creasing. I love the little jar but I can see how it'll get harder to use as the product gets used up. I hope this doesn't get discontinued.
This eyeshadow has some good features - the color is nice, the packaging is nice, it's long lasting, has minimal fallout, applies easily, inexpensive. But there's one problem with it that beats out all the benefits - WAY too much glitter. I've often read that shimmery shadow makes you look older but I never experienced it until I tried this. I wouldn't buy this again for that reason alone.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
Radchickee 2/16/2013 8:41:00 AM
I think this primer is over rated and over hyped. It's just OK. I see minimal improvement in the lasting power of my eyeshadow but nothing like what I was expecting. I don't find it chalky or flaky, it just doesn't amaze me. I'm still looking for a great primer. Cute packaging though.
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Night Blooming Jasmine
Radchickee 2/12/2013 11:06:00 AM
I find this to be a very strong floral scent, especially considering its only a body mist. This packs a punch, so use lightly. I find the lilac very strong in this, even more than the jasmine. I think this would smell OK as an air freshener or a linen spray, but not as a body fragrance. This can be suffocating if oversprayed. I wouldn't repurchase.
This is the same thing as High Beam but its an apricot shade. Where High Beam gives a pinkish white highlight, this gives a more peachy opalescent tone. I think this doesn't show up as much on my skin compared to High Beam, maybe because its closer to my skin tone. It's very subtle. It's best applied with your fingers because the brush doesn't blend it well. I use it on top of my foundation, not underneath as the instructions say, because putting it underneath just seems to make it disappear. I dislike the package because its like a nail polish bottle, and the redipping of the brush seems unhygienic to me. I'll use up my bottle because I like the subtle effect but I wouldn't repurchase.
I like many things about this product. It's a liquid so you can put it exactly where you want it. Its a cool toned shimmer, for those of us with pinkish undertones or pale complexions. And best of all, it does what its supposed to. I've been using it for a few weeks and never really thought it made much difference to my appearance, but then I caught a glance of myself in a mirror and saw a perfectly highlighted cheekbone. Nothing over the top, nothing obvious. I must say I was impressed. I'm not sure if I'd buy it again because despite what I've just said, I still prefer a powder highlighter. I think this is good for small areas of the face, for everyday wear, but if I want to hightlight a larger area, I'd use a powder.
Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Wear Infinite Quad in Forest Light
Radchickee 1/3/2013 10:59:00 AM
All four colors in this quad are great. They blend together very well so that there are no stripey lines that I don't like. These shades bring out the green and gold in my eyes. There is a slight shimmer to some of the shades. The only thing I don't like is the tiny applicator. Use a good brush instead - this applicator is so small, I can't even hold it properly.
Powder -It Cosmetics - Bye Bye Pores Poreless Finish HD Micro-Powder
Radchickee 1/1/2013 10:48:00 PM
I was attracted to the color of this powder, being a pale yellow, because I thought it would give a neutral tone without looking too peachy or too ashy. And the claims of achieving an airbrushed finish didn't hurt either. Well, I like this powder but I don't love it. It is very fine, gives a matte finish, but I do find it a bit chalky and dry looking. It's a pricey powder and I don't think it's worth it to buy again.
This is a very lightweight gel like moisturizer. It sinks right in without leaving any film or greasiness or residue whatsoever. I like the green tea aspect to this and I think it's a good moisturizer for someone with oily skin. I would use this again in the summer. In the winter my skin dries out too much and I don't think this would be moisturizing enough.
Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Mascara with Lash Boosting Serum
Radchickee 12/28/2012 4:44:00 PM
This is a great go-to mascara for daily use. I don't think the serum part is useful at all so I just use the mascara end on its own. I think the mascara actually performs better without the serum. This goes on smooth and clump free. Lasts all day, and is about as easy to remove as any basic mascara. The best part about this mascara for me is zero irritation. I have sensitive eyes and so many mascaras irritate my eyes to the point of getting bloodshot. But this mascara is so gentle, I can't even tell I have it on, it feels that natural. I would repurchase for that reason alone, but it also happens to be a pretty good mascara.
