Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass in Luminary
Quicky_Ramirez 10/13/2006 9:50:00 AM
A sheerer version of Oyster Girl Lipglass, but with more pink sparkles. Additionally the shimmer is more iridescent than in OG. Same nice vanilla smell and no taste. Less sticky than lipglass. Love it over Subculture Lipliner for it gives just the right amount of shine and adds dimension thanx to the sparkles. My fav MAC lip product right now

Eye Shadow -Stila - Peacock
Quicky_Ramirez 7/2/2006 6:35:00 AM
Looks bright and beautiful in the pan, but goes on too sheer for my liking. So sheer that it gets more of a greenish hue, not that bright blue I wanted to have. Doesn't work better when used wet, almost worse... when combining with a base it gets slightly better, but it's still goes on like a chalky greenish blue, that I wouldn't have bought if it looked like that in the pan. Staying power is ok, it better is for a high end brand...

Fragrances -Alexander McQueen - Kingdom

My everyday scent at the moment. I can't detect b.o. at all (neither did my friends who also took a whiff), instead it's simply a warm, sweet (but not that popstar candy like sweet) and spicy scent. I guess it really depends on body chemistry how it will turn out. well it starts out with some spicy citrusy flowery note (without the citrus being strong), then later just be warm and sweet with a hint of spice. I like the last notes the most, it's unusual, not like those overly fresh flower scents and though I'm not into orientals (and this one could go as an oriental) it's the scent I like the most out of the masses

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
Quicky_Ramirez 1/26/2006 1:21:00 PM
Holy Grail, simply because it tames my super oily skin and makes my foundation go on more even, almost opaque and stay on longer. The perfect primer. Since I don't want to tan (like the pale goth look) the SPF is perfect and I don't detect any white cast on pics or in real life as long as I apply it evenly. It's quite easy anyway (creamy texture, dries down matte). It's quite expensive in Europe (33€), but you can get it a little cheaper in Asia (~23€) and I only need a small amount for my face (since it's winter I have to wear thick shawls so that I don't wear anything on my neck). The only weird thing is the smell at the end of the day (when applying it's simply a light flowery/sunscreeny scent that fades away quickly) when I wash everything off, quite chemical, but not too bad if I consider the great makeup finish! I will definitely buy it again, it's one of the few products that are really worth staying faithful to!

Lipstick -Giorgio Armani - Lipstick Mania #1
Quicky_Ramirez 12/6/2005 10:49:00 AM
This is my favorite l/s at the moment, not only because of the wearable color but also because of its texture. The shade is a pale to medium beige-pink with a slightest hint of lilac so that it's not quite a cool nor a warm shade. Besides it has very fine whitish shimmer. It covers my pigmented lips well and makes them look even, a little moist looking with subtle color. Perfect if you wear strong eye makeup, but don't want to have very pale lips. The texture is creamy and moisturizing. Will not survive an oily meal. Doesn't contain perfume, so it only smells a little "creamy" and has no taste. It's priced at 25€, more than Chanel and even Guerlain, but I love the packaging design, the color itself and the texture, so I'd buy this color again since it also looks beautiful in photographs (with flash).

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Home fragrance oil-Sweet Maple
Quicky_Ramirez 12/6/2005 10:39:00 AM
Gorgeous home scent that deserves more reviews! To me it also smells like delicious maple syrup, sweet and warm, but never annoying. The perfect scent to have around you in the cold time. It's priced at 5,50€, I think it's ok since I like the fragrance a lot and I guess it will last a long time since I only need 1-2 drops each time. Try it and you will dream of pancakes with butter and maple syrup...

Eye Shadow -MAC - Ingenue Blue (Be Seen)
Quicky_Ramirez 10/3/2005 1:57:00 PM
This is my fav MAC e/s color! It's a greenish matte blue (dirty turquoise according to MAC) that looks slightly greener on my lids. I love to wear it on its own just with black khol on the inner rims. It's perfect for my darkbrown eyes. However, it doesn't look as bright under normal lighting, just dark green-blue, like a lighter version of Plumage e/s, but in photographs with flash it's very bright! Sad it's LE, I'd definitely buy again if I ran out, but I yet won't buy a backup, since I've got many e/s colors to choose from... BTW: Ingenue Blue came out as a single e/s pot with the Tempt me/Tease me collection, NOT Be Seen

Palettes -Chanel - Travel Collection
Quicky_Ramirez 9/12/2005 12:08:00 PM
This palette of eight colors is available at airports and on flights. It consists of 4 e/s: white/gold duochrome, gold/rose duochrome, mid brown, dark brown. and 4 lips/cheek colors: light pink gloss, gold gloss, bluish red and slightly brownish red. There's a pic in my gallery. The dark e/s are very pigmented, so don't take too much at a time. The other 2 are more shimmery (fine shimmer, no chunky glitter) than colored. The rosey color almost doesn't show up on my NC20-15 skin. The white/gold makes a fantastic highlighter. Over all, those 4 e/s are pretty neutrals that are good to have, I also use the lightest color on my nose to contour. The 2 glosses for lips don't show much color, they're more like lipbalm with shimmer. You won't get much color from them neither, the pink has white shimmer and the gold slightly larger goldparticles. The bluish red gives a fantastic flush to cheeks, it is a cream texture. On lips it's not very intensive. The other applies kinda brick red, lovely if you wear olive colored eye shadow, brownish colors. The palette comes with a velvet pouch and 1 applicator and 1 brush. Those are ok, but I would invest in real brushes though. I give the product only 4 lippies because of the 2 glosses, that are kinda like (cheap) lipbalm. It costed 41US$ on my flight (5% off) so it's pretty good for a Chanel item, considering you're getting 8 colors, 4 e/s which are neutral and basic staples. I think I would buy it again if it was still available if I ran out. Just because I like the white/gold and the bluish red and the other colors are also wearable for everyday life (travelling).

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel Garden of Stars Lily Eau de Parfum
Quicky_Ramirez 9/2/2005 11:28:00 AM
I didn't like the original Angel, but The Lys is great, it has the sweet Angel note, but softer and less "sour". The price is really high, but I'll buy a full bottle as soon as I have enough money cos I really like the sweetness, the whole effect of this scent ^^ I like scents with lily most of the time, this one is simply the perfect mix! Try it out at least!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Oyster Girl
Quicky_Ramirez 8/28/2005 1:48:00 PM
My fav Lipgloss/Lipglass ATM, it lightens up my lip color and gives vibrant shimmer (gold) to them. Good to pair with intense eye MU. There's already 1/5 gone and I own it like 3 weeks! (ok, also due to the tiny tube) Thats much for me, since I like to wear something different everyday, but I always come back to Oyster Girl. Beautiful in the tube, beautiful on lips.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Volage Glossimer
Quicky_Ramirez 4/23/2005 4:04:00 AM
light shimmery pink with a hint of peach and gold "glitter" (not big chunks of glitter, but slightly larger than the pink shimmer particles). gives an overall glowy look for your lips under bright light (sun, artificial). texture is not as sticky as MAC, but sticky enough to stay on your lips for many hours (doesn't survive oily meals though). doesn't have a scent, maybe mine is too old *lol* however, the color is great. I'd recommend it for medium to dark skin NC30+. The gloss is pricey, but it's worth it. I would buy it again at the moment (where I'm into pink gloss).

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
Quicky_Ramirez 11/14/2004 2:44:00 AM
Great colour selection. Covers up old acne scars very well and evens out the skintone. Mattifies my oily skin whithout clogging it up, no breakouts and applying with the sponge is very easy. I love this stuff, I don't think I'd try anything else again although it's a bit pricey (24£á€) but will last probably 5 months (i use it 5-6 times per week). My Holy Grail Foundation!

Masks -The Body Shop - Tree tea oil nose pore mask
Quicky_Ramirez 11/14/2004 2:39:00 AM
Really works! Get a bath or wash your hair so that your pores open up (don't forget to wash your face and free it of oil), then apply this green stuff and let it dry for 30min! Then take the strip off like a waxing strip on your legs. One Tube costs 10€, but 1oz.is a lot when you apply it thinly (it does work!) and it's a lot cheaper when you compare with nivea's kao biore strips. Will definitely buy that stuff again, clears up the pores of my oily skin very well when used properly (as written at the beginning). HG

Lip Treatments -Kanebo - Kanebo SENSAI - TOTAL LIP TREATMENT
Quicky_Ramirez 4/8/2004 10:32:00 AM
I also got a sample, after applying (at night) my lips feel very soft and smooth, never got that feeling before with my drugstore lipstuff. On the next day my lips are also very soft, but without the smooth feeling of the treatment. This feeling lasts many hours after waking up, but then you have to apply something again. however, it contains cera microcristallina and the price is horrendous. I would buy it, if it would cost about 20$, but 60 is way to much, although you get quite a lot of product.
