Lipstick -Chanel - Aqualumiere Lipstick #37 - Ipanema
Queengwen 9/1/2004 11:11:00 AM
I was looking for a subtle, natural color to tone down my pigmented lips and I found that Ipanema fits the bill quite nicely. It's a sheer sandy champagne beige with a light shimmer texture. Glides on quite smoothly and is very moisturizing. This seems to enhance my natural lip color, yet tones it down with a soft frostiness that doesn't wash me out. Overall a great, versatile color to have because it can also be worn over over colors to give shimmer and shine.

Lipstick -Aveda - Laelia
Queengwen 7/14/2004 4:44:00 AM
It's a gorgeous shade of natural pink with subtle undertones of plum/mauve and a semi-shimmer finish. The color is somewhat similar to my Nars Cannes multiple, except it shows up better on my lips (a couple shades lighter) and isn't as drying. I have pretty pigmented lips so I find that most light shades of pink just doesn't show up well. This shade gives me a very au natural look (I'm a GGG/MMM, MAC C40), but doesn't wash me out or appear too frosty. The aromatherapy element is cool - it has a pleasant herbal scent. This color looks soo good with glowy, golden-tanned skin and flushed cheeks, hehe. YAY = )

Blush -Jane - Blushing Orchid Shimmer
Queengwen 6/29/2004 7:13:00 AM
Got this on a whim at Walmart. The color in the pan is a startling, bright pink with a subtle shimmer. I'm a warm-toned MAC C40 (MMM,GGG) and wanted to try a true pink blush. For about 3 bucks a pop, I decided to give it a go. It showed up well on my summer tanned skin, and with a very sheer application gives me a fresh-faced, flushed look. On the downside, it could be a tad chalky and artifical-looking if too much is applied, although it's great when very lightly swept over my Nars multiple in Cannes for a brighter pop of color. Overall a nice blush that would work very well for people with cool-toned skin.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass - Spring Bean
Queengwen 5/11/2004 4:53:00 AM
This gloss reminds me of Squirt but has some shimmer/sparkle. Looks green in the tube but shows up a sheer honey on the lips. Perfect over almost any color lipstick as it instantly gives supergloss and shine. Overall, a great versatile gloss.

Lipstick -MAC - Cream Lipstick in Dubonnet
Queengwen 5/11/2004 12:59:00 AM
Wow. This is one gorgeous lipstick! It's the perfect shade of red on me (GGG/MMM, C40) being both bright and deep at the same time. The brown-based hue stays true red on my lips without changing to a berry or fuschia. The formula is excellent - very creamy and moisturizing. It definitely 'pops' and makes me feel uber-glam, especially with a touch of Lustre Glass in "Spring Bean" on top which brings out a glossy sheen. This is everything I wanted in a red lipstick. I loove the way it makes me feel Gwen Stefani-esque in that old Hollywood-siren way. This is one of my first forays into red l/s, and I must say, I'm loving it!

Lipstick -Vincent Longo - Satin Matte Lipstick in Sex Star
Queengwen 5/8/2004 2:07:00 AM
I was on a mission to find my HG red lippie and after trying on several Nars stuff, an SA recommended Vincent Longo l/s in "Sex Star." It's this gorgeous, berry-red that gives my lips some serious drama! (I swear, after I tried it on my lips I felt super-glam, hehe). It's a beautiful scarlet red with cool-undertones (a great contrast with my warm MMM/GGG MAC C40 skintone). On me, it looks very bright in the middle of my lips (where it's less pigmented) and a deeper red all around. The texture is satiny and does not seem to be drying on the lips. Overall, a great red lippie. UPDATE: After trying this on a couple more times (in brighter light as well as daytime) I noticed that the color seemed too berry-like, perhaps even fuschia?? It's not as true red as I had previously thought. The texture is too matte IMO, but the color and l/s quality is still great so perhaps this could work on someone else with different coloring.

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Cannes
Queengwen 5/5/2004 7:46:00 PM
I'm usually kinda wary of cream blush or shadows because of my oily, acne-prone skintype, but this stuff rocks! Glides on easily and blends well. The color is a gorgeous berry shade with bronze shimmer that kinda reminds me of Nars Sin but actually shows up on me (MAC C40, MMM/GGG). I applied this as a sheer wash onto my eyelids and the color doesn't make me look sick like some deep pinks would. I used a generous amount of Rosebud Salve to counteract the drying effect it has on the lips (it's such a pretty, YLBB color). My sister saw me earlier and commented on how fresh and radiant I looked, hehe. This is one super convenient product that I can easily carry with me everywhere for a touch of color and glow. I loooove this!! = )

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - 5 Camouflage Cream Palette
Queengwen 4/21/2004 5:13:00 AM
Very neat little concealer palette! My skin color can change a bit with the seasons so I love that I can choose from 4 colors to blend and mix together for the most seamless skin color match. I usually don't need concealer under my eyes so I mainly use this to cover blemishes or dark spots. I like using a brush to apply as it gives better coverage and is more precise. Very good amount of product for the price and is for me, a very much needed/used item!

Lip Treatments -Prada - Shielding Balm Spf 15/Lip/Tint 7
Queengwen 4/5/2004 6:43:00 PM
This soft pink shade is so pretty! Although it's pretty thick and needs a bit of work to smooth out evenly, it's perfect for daytime and the satiny sheen gives it more of a low key effect than shinier balms. Ten mono dose tubes will last a long time. Overall, it's a great 'designer' treat to indulge your lips!

Gels/Soaps -Pre de Provence - Agrumes Soap

Wonderfully refreshing citrus soap! The scent almost reminds me of an orange creamsicle, yet is light, fresh, and fruity all at once. I love that in addition to the yummy scent, this is one high quality, triple-milled soap which will last a really long time. Definitely one of my all-time favorites!

Fragrances -Stella McCartney - Stella- Eau de Parfum
Queengwen 3/24/2004 6:22:00 AM
Although I'm usually into fresh, clean scents (florals are too overpowering to me), I find myself strangely drawn to this lightly sweet, rosey fragrance. It makes me think of sunshine, springtime, and a garden full of flowers. All in all, it's pretty much a girlie scent. It's light enough for daywear, yet has that edge of sophistication/sexiness that would be perfect for evening. I'm happy to say that I've finally found my signature scent!

Polishes -OPI - Fiji Weejee Fawn
Queengwen 3/9/2004 1:42:00 AM
Pretty pearlized shade with sheer elements of beige, pink, and opal. Looks great as more of a natural everyday color (chips aren't as noticeable) and is a gorgeous contrast against summery, tanned skin. One of my absolute favorite shades from OPI!

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Unity Glossimer
Queengwen 2/12/2004 3:01:00 AM
Wow. An absolutely gorgeous color! It looks bronze in the tube but goes on more sheer as a peachy/pink with bronze tones and a metallic, glossy finish. The consistency/texture is superb, not too sticky yet longer-lasting than I expected. It looks great alone or worn over lipstick to give it that extra 'oomph.' Love love love it!

Lip Gloss -NARS - Lip Lacquer in Eros
Queengwen 2/12/2004 2:51:00 AM
Gorgeous, warm raspberry pink that looks natural on the lips with a satiny sheen. Don't like putting my finger into the tiny little pot so I use a lip brush to apply. Overall a great lip gloss.
