Bronzers -Almay - Smart Shade Bronzer in 040 Sunkissed
Pyper 7/12/2009 9:06:00 PM
When I first applied this to my arm, I thought about walking right back into CVS and returning it. It was streaky, dirty-looking, and incredibly dark on my fair skin. I decided to experiment a bit more, and found a good way to apply it. First, and most importantly, use a very small amount! I mean, microscopic! If I use any more that the smallest bit at a time, it looks dark and streaky. Secondly, the area you're applying it to should be well-moisturized. The bronzer blends better and looks less streaky. On me, this stuff has a reddish tone. I wouldn't use it all over my face, but blended over cheeks, nose, and chin, it looks fine. I like it because it is a liquid, not a powder product. My dry skin can't handle more than one powder product at a time. With this, I can apply bronzer and then a powder blush over it. The coverage is buildable if you go easy.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Viki's Radiant Creation
Pyper 1/25/2009 5:26:00 PM
I love Everyday Minerals. Every time I order a new sample, I think: THIS is my HG foundation/blush/eyeshadow. Then a few months pass, I decide to try some more samples, and I find that they've come out with products even better than before. With "Viki's Radiant Creation" I think I've found my new HG foundation. Finally, I've achieved the flawless no makeup look I've been searching for. Just a single layer over my entire face, and my skin looks glowing and perfect. I can't stop staring in the mirror. For the record, I have been previously wearing the Multi-tasking foundation, but felt I looked too pale, although the color matched my skin. I wanted something to make me look a little more tanned, and this works well for that. The Radiant Creation blush doesn't really provide any coverage, so it may not work well alone for girls who need to cover blemishes.

Shampoo -Burt's Bees - Burts Bees Baby Bee No Tear Shampoo and Wash
Pyper 1/25/2009 5:16:00 PM
I bought this product because I was looking for a sulfate-free and silicone-free shampoo for my thick, curly-wavy hair. I use it once a day on my roots, which tend to get oily, and shampoo all over once a week. It is a little bit drying for my already dry hair, but used in a sparing amount on only the oily roots is a perfect compromise. It gives my hair good volume without poofing it out, which is a hard balance to find. And I absolutely love the smell. The perfume in the shampoo has really good staying power, so I catch whiffs of my yummy-smelling hair all day long. The smell isn't overpowering, though, just a subtle apricot scent. I think I'll stick with this as my regular shampoo for now.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Pencil - Black
Pyper 8/5/2008 11:32:00 PM
Hmm, I must be unusual because I actually like this product a lot! I wear the black eyeliner and I like it because it's not too dark- if I apply it right it doesn't even look like I'm wearing eyeliner, it just makes my eyes pop. It has great staying power for me; I can barely get it off at night! I don't have a problem with the pencil tugging at my eyes. I just apply it in quick short strokes.

Lips -Sephora - Lush Flush Wine Lip & Cheek Stain
Pyper 7/19/2008 6:28:00 PM
I tried this product on at Sephora (and then removed it so I could try others, so no comment on the lasting power), and I found the shade to be very similar to most of the more expensive tints. It's a bright berry color- flattering on me, but I was looking for something with more red/orange tones. But if you use a stain like Tarte, Stainiac, or Lorac, this is a very good color match and only 10 bucks.

Blush -Vincent Longo - Lip and Cheek Gel Stain - Cupid's Breath
Pyper 7/19/2008 6:18:00 PM
I went to Sephora and ran around like a maniac trying all the lip stains and then rubbing them off and trying more. I settled on this product for one major reason: the color. All the other stains (Stainiac, Lorac, Sephora's Red Wine) seemed to come out the same color on me: a bright berry pink. It wasn't an unflattering look, but they did give me a sort of "little girl who's been eating a popsicle" look. The Cupid's Breath shade is a warm red with orange undertones very similar to the shade of lipstick I usually wear. The only downside is that it looks quite dark on me. I'll have to work on applying a single sheer layer.

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Pearl Beige Concealer
Pyper 7/15/2008 11:12:00 PM
Yipes! Do not, I repeat, do not, use this as a concealer! I tried it under my eyes and I looked like an alien from Star Trek. It works as an all-over face color if you're looking for a very dewy look, but anyone who has any problem with shininess should stay far away.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Summer Silk Dust [DISCONTINUED]
Pyper 7/15/2008 11:07:00 PM
I decided my Golden Fair skin was looking too pale for summer, so I bought a sample size of this to give it a try. Wow! Just a quick layer over my cheeks and t-zone and it gave me an extremely natural hint of a tan. As a major plus, it set my mineral makeup without looking cakey. I had previously had a problem with makeup under my eyes creasing right above my cheeks, giving me odd lines (like my grandmother used to say, I shouldn't smile so much!). Also, the makeup on my forehead and nose would get oily and try to slide off by the end of the day (ew). The Summer Silk Dust fixed the creasing and helped control the oil much better.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Weekend Getaway
Pyper 7/15/2008 10:59:00 PM
Soft pink/brown/peach, perfect for all occasions. I had to learn to apply with a light hand, because at first, yikes! Orange clown cheeks! I wear Golden Fair, this is very natural on me.

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Intensive Fair concealer [DISCONTINUED]
Pyper 7/15/2008 10:56:00 PM
Very good concealing power and blendability, however, just a hint too light for my Golden Fair skin in summer. (Doesn't look unnatural, just a more pale look than I'm going for right now.) Multi-tasking is a better match for me.

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Sunlight Color Corrector
Pyper 7/15/2008 10:51:00 PM
Probably the best concealer I've found for disguising dark circles. However, it is SO, SO yellow. I needed a layer of foundation darker than my normal foundation to camouflage the yellow tone. Not really worth the trouble, as I've since found the Multi-tasking foundation matches my skin perfectly and is great for blemishes/redness.

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Multi-tasking Concealer
Pyper 7/15/2008 10:47:00 PM
I love it. Contrary to most people's experience, powder concealer works best on my very dark circles. It conceals better and doesn't feel moist or globby like liquid concealer. As far as the color, it's a perfect match for me. Everyday Minerals Sunlight probably concealed my circles the best, but it was so yellow that I had to add a layer of dark foundation over it. Intensive Fair concealer was a bit too light. This color is such a good match with my skin, I think I'll try the foundation next.

Fragrances -Demeter - cannabis flower
Pyper 10/10/2007 8:33:00 PM
Wow, I love this scent! It smells like cannabis right out of the bottle, but not so overpowering that I worry my co-workers are going to think I'm smoking up. It dries down, losing its spiciness, and leaving the softest, cleanest floral, with just a hint of the cannabis scent. I usually can't wear any floral scent because it becomes overwhelming to me, but this is just perfect. Love, love, love.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolce Souffle in Tiramisu Veneziano
Pyper 3/18/2006 7:43:00 PM
I love this scent so, so, so much. I frankly do not mind smelling like chocolate and coffee all day long. The fragrance is so authentic that one night when I was eating actual tiramisu I closed my eyes and could detect no difference between it and the lotion. It is also the best moisturizer I've ever used as far as leaving my skin soft and protected. However, to my dismay, I think I must be allergic to it, because it makes my legs itch like crazy! Five lippies for being fantastic, minus one for making me itchy. I guess I'll have to give it up. *sniff*

Lotions/ Creams -Suds and Light - Shea & Aloe Body Cream in Green Cactus
Pyper 3/18/2006 7:35:00 PM
I have this in the Featherlite Souffle. When I first smelled it I was disappointed because what I was smelling was definitely not cactus, but some floral scent I couldn't place. After wearing it overnight, I woke up to a revelation: I was smelling rose petals. This is the truest fresh-cut rose scent ever. I have never encountered a fragrance that smelled so like an actual flower. However, sadly docking one lippie because when you sniff too close to your skin, there is that nasty chemical smell that underlies so many S&L products. Still, I will buy this again, definitely, probably in the perfume.
