Lipstick -NYX - Lipstick- #529 Thalia
PuzzInBootz 1/13/2011 1:25:00 PM
It's a pretty dark brown color on my very pale skin :( Wished it was a bit more mauve on me - as you can see it on many swatches online. But anyway I like this lipstick a lot (like all NYX lipsticks!!!).. pure brown (so it looks on me) is not really my favorite color, but I love the texture.. it's creamy, but long-lasting on me! Lasts for a long time... for a very cheap price!! I often use NYX Lipsticks for school.. I apply it early in the morning and when I'm at home again about 1pm I have still color on my lips. Well, I don't eat at school, but it's amazing. I don't like the smell of NYX' lipsticks that much, but doesn't matter. Overall a wonderful quality. Unfortunately you can't buy NYX in my country :( I'd like to buy loooots of more :D Well, Thalia is a bit too dark for me, so only 4 points... but I love NYX and I'll check out Summer Love! I'm not a fan of 20-30 dollar lipsticks (because they often don't last longer than durgstore brands... Urban Decay lipsticks for example!! 22 dollars and away after 2 hours wearing!)

Lipstick -Revlon - Revlon Matte-Pink Pout
PuzzInBootz 1/12/2011 6:45:00 PM
I searched for a matte, rosy lipstick, but unfortunately I look like a plastic doll with it. It's a very loud pink with cool undertones.. I hoped it had more yellow undertones. It's more like a viva glam gaga-color (which I HATE... I know many people like this look, but I hate it :( ). The cool color doesn't look good on me... I'm very, very pale and it makes me look even more sick. :-D I wished it was a bit darker and not that "gaga-like". But anyway I wanna give 3 points, because the quality is very good for this price. And I think it could be a color that suits lots of girls... And if you like loud pink-colors, I'd prefer Pink Pout to Viva Glam Gaga. I think Revlon's matte texture looks more fancy and lasts longer.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen - Creme d'Nude
PuzzInBootz 12/26/2010 6:50:00 PM
value-for-money ratio? failed badly. It's okay, but not better than drug store-lipsticks. I used it again after a long time for this review... well, I applied it maybe 2 hours ago and the color is almost away. And I neither ate nor drank anything. Why I should buy a lipstick for 18 euros which is in NO way better than a drug-store lipstick? Oh, of course, the vanilla-smell of MAC's lipsticks is nice and the feeling a bit more creamy than other brands, but that was the special thing for me... it's ridiculous. When I want a creamy feeling blahblah I buy a lipbalm in the next drugstore. But don't leave 18 euros for an overrated high-brand lipstick. I have a lipstick (price under 2 euros) which lasts longer.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Gaga
PuzzInBootz 12/26/2010 6:38:00 PM
I bought this color online though I don't like gaga and her music. I bought it because of the story behind and the color looked pretty in the internet... Well, unfortunately I hated it. I had to apply coat over coat over coat over.... to see the color. I know that it's lustre finish, but for THAT money I expect a lipstick with higher coverage. If I have to use a lipstick 3-5x to build up color, it will be used up quickly. And after finishing this long procedure I had to see that the color wasn't as pretty as in the tube. Many people like those colors now, but I hate these "plastic"-looking colors on the lips. It's a gaudy light-pink with blue undertones. In the tube it looked more yellow-toned, just a pretty pure light-pink and I thought I would like it. Well, I sold it after using one time. If you like the modern gaudy lipsticks and this finish it could be the right for you. Actually i love pinks - rosy pinks with more coverage. I will never try those pinks and MAC again, because I think the brand is overrated. The lipsticks arent't that good that I'd hold eulogies like many others do.

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick in Strawberry Milk #595
PuzzInBootz 12/23/2010 12:26:00 PM
I'm downright color-less; so pale that "Strawberry Milk" doesn't wash me out. It's a nice barbie pink, I love it (much more than Mac's gaga, because strawberry milk is sooo more covering).. The smell of NYX' lipsticks needs much getting used to. In one german review I read "the smell reminds me of toilet cleaner with citrus scent"... I think it's a good description. But the price is so low and the lasting-power so nice that I can ignore it. I don't know how this color looks on darker skin tones; it's really pure, light girly/barbie pink... So I'm sure it can wash out girls with medium etc. (maybe already fair) color and you can look like one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends easily. It's not a color for everybody, you have to like pink a lot... I'm doing so =) But it would never be my color for everyday.

Lipstick -Too Faced - Lip of Luxury - Free Love
PuzzInBootz 12/11/2010 2:13:00 PM
I really wanted to love the Too Faced lipstick, because I absolutely fell in love with the cute packaging :-) I think not everybody likes a rosy tube with a fake diamond on the top, but I love those girlie things. I decided to buy "Free Love", because the description sounded good. I bought in on eBay, I can't buy Too Faced in my country. When I opened it, I noticed the scent first of all. It really smells like champaign, I liked it a lot. The color is VERY pale and the right for nude fans. Unfortunately I'm not a nude fan, I trusted the Too Faded description "pink velvet"... I can't find "pink velvet" in it; it's just shimmery nude. It is a pretty color, though not that what I was looking for. The worst point - it does not have staying power. For my review I applied "Free Love" on my hand now... I just have to wipe over the color one time with my other hand and it's away. I give two lipsticks for the packaging and the fact, that the champaign-infused color moisturizes your lips. But I won't buy "Lip Of Luxury" again. If I buy an expensive lipstick, I expect staying power. But if long-lasting color is not important for you, you could like the texture of the lipstick. There are not many colors, but you can choose from some reds/pinks and 2 nudes (I class free love with "nude")

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow
PuzzInBootz 12/11/2010 1:57:00 PM
Unfortunately you can't buy Urban Decay in my country, but I bought a small eyeshadow palette (it's lilac, I don't know its name.. 4 colors are included). So I got to know the colors Oil Sick, Midnight Cowboy, Stray Dog and Flipside. And I have to say that all of them are great, because Urban Decay seems to produce eyeshadows with good quality. All of them are long-lasting, pretty pigmented and I love that Urban Decay has funky colors like Flipside. Oil Sick is prettier and softer than mac's black tied. And it's wonderful that they have vegan products and never test on animals! The reason why I give only 3 lipsticks - the price. Of course I like the quality, but UD is one of the most expensive brands I've ever seen. The quality isn't just THAT great/innaovative/whatever that the price would be justified for me. I have eyeshadows of other brands that are much more expensive, but almost as nice.. not just as well (UD is slightly better), but almost. And "a bit better" does not justify 10-15 euros more for me. But if you want only expensive brands, I would say that UD is better than mac for example. If you like expensive eyeshadow, you should check them out, they are softer than MAC's and easier to apply!

Lipstick -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick
PuzzInBootz 12/11/2010 1:36:00 PM
Some weeks ago I got three buxom sticks; one in "Las Vegas" , "London" and one mini version in "Vienna". I read some rewievs about it and a "3-in-1-lipcolor" sounded SO invitingly! First of all I loved the box "Las Vegas" came with. The lettering and design reminded me of westerns and saloons. Also I like the design of the stick itself.. simple, silver color and London has a cute heart in England's colors. Now I want to describe the colors and my experience with them. 1. Las Vegas... on my pale skin it looked really, really DARK pink and not cool, even more red in it. I was disappointed because I expected something else. I love cool pink colors, "barbie lipsticks" and I hoped that Las Vegas would be my color. 2. So I decided to buy London. Well, it was much more lighter, but has an awful orange touch. 3. Vienna.... yep, it was disappointing, too. Because of this purple touch you can look ill easily. Summary: I got crazy, because there's no "pure" color... one has orange touch, another purple,.... I just wanted a light pink and swatches on sephora let me hope. And another thing is really HATE is this stroooong minty feel that doesn't fade away. It just doesn't stop. In the first moments I liked the fresh feeling, but it did not want to leave my lips (I felt it till I removed the color in the evening) and while waiting for the next train I thought all the time about this feeling on the lips. It's just irritating. I don't look at plumping lip treatments anyway, (I bought it first and foremost because of the lasting power I read about in some blogs) but I did not notice a plumping effect, I think. The lasting power is good, I have to say. But not that good as I hoped. Maybe dark colors of the buxom stick last longer, but London for example was not on my lips anymore after eating. The other two colors were still on my lips, but faded too. Overall = it wasn't worth the money. It sounded like a dream product (all in one, long-lasting, built-in sharpener,...), but I was disappointed. Maybe buxom stick looks good with a gloss over it or looks better on other skin tones, but I won't buy again. It is just not worth it, I can buy just as well any other lip product. Buxom stick doesn't have anything special for me. A product I can well do without.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Glam Shine 6H
PuzzInBootz 12/11/2010 1:07:00 PM
Glam Shine 6H in "Always Pink" was one of my first make-up products ever and my first lip gloss. It's LONG time ago, but I can remember that I liked the gloss... too little pigmented for me, but I liked the shimmer and it really lasted for a time. It was sticky, but I think a long-lasting gloss has to be it.. otherwise it would "melt down" after minutes or one hour. Bad points were scent and smell... not a bit flowery or sweet, only bad chemical - like lipsticks decades ago. And nevertheless it was too expensive. It wasn't THAT good that over 12 euros would be justified. After I got more interested in make-up and got to know that L'Oreal does test on animals, i threw it away. Never again, that's reason enough for me to steer clear of L'Oreal and all brands that have to do with this concern.

Lip Gloss -NYX - NYX 113 French Kiss
PuzzInBootz 12/11/2010 12:23:00 PM
I'm from Germany and I took notice of NYX cosmetics when I searched for cruelty-free make up brands. You can not buy it here yet, but there are already many german women buying NYX in the internet. Now I know why! Here's my review of my first nyx mega shine gloss in French Kiss: I just love it! :) I bought it some days ago on eBay (for just 1,20 euros) and because of the incredible cheap price I'd never expect good quality... but it's amazing. I applied French Kiss 3-4 hours ago and the color is still there - NO fading! I think most of it will go off while eating, but however I'm surprised by this staying power. I love the color, on me it looks like a nude color with a bit rose and peachy in it... it looks shimmering but not frosty - so it also suits VERY pale people.. I know what I'm talking about, I'm so pale that people on the street often ask me if I'm ill! Furthermore I love the scent.. it reminds me on cherry lemonade.. you could find it too sweet, but I just love it! And the packaging is simple, but cute.. especially the little loop on the top :) I think it's the best gloss I've ever had; I became a huge NYX-fan in just a few hours and I will definitely buy many more colors. I'm baffled that a gloss for less than 2 euros knocks out my other make-up products like Urban Decay, Too Faced or the highly praised MAC, which I really don't like.. Each to his own, but I was always disappointed by mac. NYX is cheap, but incredible staying power - better than some expensive brands - and cruelty-free.. What more could I want? :) 5 points and if I could, I'd give100 to it!

Conditioner -TiGi - Headshot Reconstructive Intense Conditioner
PuzzInBootz 2/20/2010 11:30:00 AM
I bought the headshot series in October/November 09 (so I used headshot shampoo and conditioner for longer time) and I have to say the conditioner is as disappointing as the shampoo. Before using it I was so sure, the headshot products would help my damaged hair. (I have bleached hair, damaged by blow-drying/straightening.. consequently dry ends) I read so many good reviews about, but after my headshot-experiment these reviews seem incredible to me, because I made TOTALLY different experiences. I wonder if people who love headshot are just ' at the beginning', use it since not long ago? Because I also liked shampoo and conditioner at first, but in the long run... no way. In December my hair began to grease, to become straggly; only my hair-ends were dry... TOO dry. So really nothing was satisfying. In this time with TIGI headshot products I had the most terrible hair ever in my life. Although my hair was so awful since December, I used both products til Feb. cause I always hoped I could like them again. I'm in love with the strawberry and peppermint smell and this pink packaging; I really wanted to like the products.. But they failed and I never want to use them again. I lost so much hair (cause of this greasing I had to wash, blow-drying everyday and it just seemed like headshot wanted to destroy my scalp and hair), I felt horrible and ugly with this hair headshot gave to me. Never again!! I know that hair products can't change damaged hair-ends etc. to a wonderful, smooth hair dream (sometimes a hair cut is the only help) - but hair WORSE THAN BEFORE? no! why I should hurt myself and buying a so expensive hair product that makes things worse? I often think about tyring dumb blonde.. I love this violet, funky packaging (..yeah TIGI just know how to attract.. with gorgeous packaging and scents), but the ingredients are so chemical and when I think about my experience with headshot, I don't wanna give TIGI my money again. That's money down the drain. Moral of the story: Salon products ain't better.

Shampoo -LUSH - NEW! Hair
PuzzInBootz 2/20/2010 10:17:00 AM
After using it a few times I already can say: This is the best hair product I ever used!!! Because IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS, and in such a perfect way you can't believe. After all those hollow promises in advertisings or hair salons (I used everything.. from drugstore shampoos to overrated brands like tigi) I never thought I would ever come across a hair product the costumer can really count on. I have extreme bleached hair and til 2009 I often straightened it and blow-drying after every wash was a must. Added on this I have problems concerning hormone balance - you can't believe how much hair I lost everyday!! Hairline crack caused of long-term "little" hair damages AND real hair loss caused of hormones, malnutrition, whatever. NEW! Hair .. It's a mercy! I have been using this for 1 week and every morning I'm so happy running with my hand through my hair and finding no fallen out hair!! when I did this before using NEW!, you could find blonde hair everywhere.. sofa, on my jacket, on the carpet under my seat at school :D,.. Incredible it did its work already after 3 times of use. changeover from hair loss-disaster to healthy scalp that keeps your hair. And it HAS TO be the shampoo which did this miracle - I didn't take hormones, didn't eat other things than normally,... I just took another shampoo :) Now I'll definitely buy also a LUSH hair treatment for my damaged hair (of course NEW doesn't repair your hairline crack.. it already does enough miracles without ;D) and I'm convinced I get back my healthy hair with my new favorite brand. Since I know NEW! Hair, I also know: I'll never return to TIGI. I found my perfect hair product which keeps its promise :)

Shampoo -TiGi - Headshot Heavenly Hydrating Shampoo
PuzzInBootz 1/24/2010 5:08:00 AM
In my opinion TIGI products are totally overrated. I have been using this headshot shampoo since November 09 and my hair ain't more hydrated, shiny or whatever. In the first weeks I liked it, my hair feeled refreshed and hydrated, BUT IN THE LONG RUN THIS PRODUCT FAILS!!! In December my hair started with being straggly. Meanwhile I have to wash my hair everyday. The smell (strawberry/mint) and the light metallic pink packaging are gorgeous but that was it.. And I think TIGI is just so famous because they know how to make their cute-looking, expensive (when you take a look at the price, you expect a perfect shampoo that does its work) products palatable to the costumer. I don't know how this brand could get its good name. Their products ain't that spectacular you have to buy a 16 euro shampoo. Especially when you can only use it for a few weeks, because after a while TIGI shampoos really damage your hair. Don't be fooled by the first results!! I could find lots of more test reviews in the world wide web, which tell you that the results are shocking after a few weeks/months (applies to for example superstar shampoo, fashionista and that here). TIGI isn't for long time. I can only entrust you: If you're searching for a hair product that ALWAYS does its work and not only in the first time, take another brand than TIGI. I love their hairspray but the shampoos are really disappointing (they bring your hair to ruin!! my hair is so thin and straggly now. Before using this shampoo my hair was..ok, not perfect, but much better. More hydrated hair-ends, fuller and NOT greasy) My patience snapped and I ordered a body shop shampoo today. Hope it can regenerate my hair and it regains its health. Headshot was my favorite shampoo in the first month, now I hate it with passion!

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Lip Gunk
PuzzInBootz 1/22/2010 2:12:00 PM
I got Urban Decay Lip Gunk in three colors (Hotpants, Cherry, Shifty.. I've read something good about Lip Gunks and they were cheap online, so I decided taking more colors) and I'm pretty disappointed. I love the packaging, because it's rock-chick-looking and reminds me on the 80's, but the Lip Gunk isn't Urban Decay's best. First of all there was this very strong, sweet smell (all colors). When I applied it, I really liked the colors at first, because they are something special - glittery, shiny, interesting. The sticky condition didn't mind me - it's called lip GUNK, so I knew it'll be sticky. But the bad thing is: this stickiness doesn't make it more long lasting (which I hoped). Alongsite this lip color is pretty 'wet'. It has this own mixture of stickiness but also wetness, which cannot be described easily. It's just a strange texture; it's sticky, but also a fat, wet coat (maybe similar to lip lacquer?) and the wetness makes the color disappear pretty fast. The glitter stays, but not the color. This texture is awful. I give two points for the interesting colors (at the beginning) and the very nice packaging. I love Urban Decay's eye products, but their glosses are always disappointing in my opinion.

Lip Gloss -Too Faced - Lip Bronzer - Sun Bunny
PuzzInBootz 1/21/2010 5:12:00 PM
I prefered lipsticks for a long time, but this item turned me a lipgloss fan. I bought this online last summer and it's my all time favorite lip make-up!! I've tried tons of various lip glosses, but these from Too Faced - especially this Lip Bronzer - are my favorites by far. Both colors together give a pretty, shiny and a bit frosty nude-beige to your lips. It's highly pigmented, not transparent (which I prefer!), chocolate scent.. Not sticky, but even SO long lasting - I was really surprised! This incredible lasting power is why I love it so much. The Lip Bronzer survives a whole school day and also drinking/eating at home on my lips. I apply it on 7am and the beige shine lasts til evening. By the way the 15ml/0.5 oz are very economical. I've tried Mac Lipglass but it's a deal worse in all points. It's just great fun applying and wearing this lip gloss. If I could by Too Faced items in Germany, I'd definitely buy 'Snow Bunny' too!
