Mascara -Zhen - Lash Thickener
PrincessLina 8/20/2004 11:18:00 PM
I was looking for a replacement of my Origins Underwear for Lashes at my local Ulta. This product was the only primer without the mascara on the other end available. It claims to volumize and lengthen notoriously puny Asian lashes which I unfortunately have. At first, I was about to return it when the primer seemed to weigh down my lashes. After that, I decided to give myself once more try. I used the Shu Uemura eyelash curler before applying. If you use the Zhen lash thickener and the mascara of your choice (I use Lancome Definicils.) carefully, your eyelashes will look longer. I probably won't repurhcase though because I think there is a better primer somewhere. Also, it didn't make my skimpy Asian lashes look as long as I wanted to.

Toners -L'Oreal - Ideal Balance - Pore Clarifying Toner
PrincessLina 8/20/2004 11:11:00 PM
One of the best toners I have ever used, especially when used with the Ideal Balance gel cleanser. It cleans more thoroughly without drying. Ever since using the Idela Balance products, I have had almost no breakouts, although I have been complimented many, many times about my skin.

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Ideal Balance Foaming Gel Cleanser
PrincessLina 8/20/2004 11:08:00 PM
One of my HG cleansers for the summer, especially when the weather is humid! It smells mediciney at first, but I became used to the smell, so it doesn't smell as bad after a while. It cleans well, especially when I use the toner right after. Ever since I used Ideal Balance, I have had almst no breakouts, although I have been complemented many, many times about my skin.

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Mascara
PrincessLina 8/17/2004 9:56:00 AM
I kept receiving Definicils from GWP's. I still have at least five of them left, and I am on my second one. I am fairly neutral about the product. Before I learned that blotting mascara with tissue before applying the mascara helps make the application less clumpy, it clumped on me like crazy. After I blot the mascara, it doesn't clump as much, but it still flakes off. It gives me longer lashes, but not exactly fuller and thicker lashes. I probably won't repurchase because 1) there are better mascaras out there and 2) I have too many of them from GWP's.

Treatments -Vaseline - Vaseline
PrincessLina 8/15/2004 4:43:00 PM
The one beauty product I cannot live without, even though I am a fan of high-end cosmetics. I have used it on my lips before bed for as long as I can remember. So many uses. Lip gloss over my lipstick. My night cream. Something to keep my hands and feet moisturized. People have asked me the secret for my soft skin and my othe beauty secrets. Answer: Vaseline, it is!

Fragrances -Clinique - Happy
PrincessLina 8/6/2004 8:10:00 PM
When i was a senior in college, I knew I needed to change my fragrance. As soon as I stumbled upon Happy, I loved it right away and loved it. I wore it so much that within one year, I finished the whole bottle, a first for me! Shortly after, I bought my second bottle. About halfway through my second one, I decided that the second one will be my last one. It now smells like licorice to me, and I hate licorice! I have also discovered much better fragrances that I would rather buy.

Fragrances -Yves Saint Laurent - In Love Again
PrincessLina 8/5/2004 11:50:00 PM
I tried it from my mom's perfume collection. It smelled like OFF! on me. After a while, I thought I was wearing bug spray and that I was off to camping in the woods instead of some romantic outing. The bottle is pretty, though. The scent does not fit the name on me.

Fragrances -Givenchy - Tartine et Chocolat Ptisenbon
PrincessLina 8/2/2004 11:21:00 PM
I have never heard of Tartine et Chocolat until my daughter was just born. I was dressing her in cute T et C designs, including a bib that squeaks. I was living in Korea at that time, and Koreans are crazy about French children's clothing, so it was no problem to find that brand. I received this perfume as a gift from my sister as she knew that I liked to dress my girl in T et C. It is a gentle baby scent that complemented well with the two of us. Now that my girl just turned four, she is unfortunately too big for T et C, and I moved back to the States where T et C is hard to find. I gave it a four because that perfume is sometimes too mild for me. As my girl grows up, I grow wilder.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Hand & Foot Scrub
PrincessLina 8/2/2004 11:09:00 PM
I agree. This stuff is works for my hands, but is not effective for my feet. (Took two lippies off.) It keeps my hands smooth in the winter. For feet, the scrub is too weak, and a pumice stone is way better. I even started using some on my legs before shaving, and it helped my legs become as smooth as a baby's derriere. To sum up, for hands and legs, yes. For feet, not quite.

Lipstick -Lancome - Sheer Magnetic in Joy
PrincessLina 7/30/2004 7:41:00 PM
Finally, a review on this product, so might as well write my own review. I received it GWP a couple years ago when they still included a loaf of bread with the gift package. I fell in love with the color right away - the prettiest pink for a neutral-toned AAB. I used it so much that in one year, it became nubby - a first for me with lipsticks. I still loved the color, so I didn't want to waste it. Only traces of it are left. I will repurchase if only I can't find anything similar. I have too many lipsticks but like only a few I have right now.

Fragrances -Clinique - Aromatics Elixir
PrincessLina 7/17/2004 12:06:00 AM
This stuff is nasty! I tried a sample size of the lotion, too, and it was one of the most disgusting-smelling body lotions I have ever used in my whole life. Stay away from this fragrance!!!!

Liquid -Maybelline - Smooth Results foundation [DISCONTINUED]
PrincessLina 7/14/2004 11:49:00 PM
I am writing this review for my mom who used the product. She seems to agree with the previous reviewer. My mom had been looking for a foundation with SPF because she plays a lot of golf in the summer. For her, THAT WAS A MISTAKE! Every time she put it on, she thought her skin was going to be ruined. It felt too cakey for her, and about one-fourth of the way, she finally threw it into the trash.

Fragrances -Escada - Island Kiss (edt)
PrincessLina 7/8/2004 11:24:00 PM
I agree with Lucyshnoosy. I was excited to try out Island Kiss at Ulta. I liked it at first, but after a while, the mango smell made me nauseous. Good thing I didn't buy it.

Mascara -Clinique - Long Pretty Lashes Mascara
PrincessLina 7/6/2004 10:36:00 PM
I received it as a free gift with Lash Doubling Mascara on the other end of the wand. I tried this mascara and found that it was clumpy on my lashes and smudged like crazy in humidity. After a week, I gave up, and I am sticking with my Lancome Definicils.

Polishes -OPI - Bare It In Trafalgar Square
PrincessLina 6/20/2004 11:05:00 PM
I was looking for a replacement of my almost-empty Estee Lauder Sweet Pea n/p. I had never tried any OPI n/p's and had heard the raves of OPI. I bought it on clearance at Meijer for $4 last February through a recommendation of a Laotian employee who thought I resembled one of the main characters from The Joy Luck Club. At first, I was happy because it was my first OPI, and the staying power lived up to the raves. However, when spring came, I was already sick of the blah beige color and wanted pink for a change. I used it for most of March and April until I bought Essie Mademoiselle and Limo-scene. (latter now half-full - trying to be optimistic!) It is now sitting in my refrigerator, and I am considering a swap. Looks cute on toes, though, for the nude look and looks better when I applied the remaining Sweet Pea over it. Other than that, Essie Mademoiselle hands down!
