Polishes -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss
PopStar48 2/8/2013 3:53:00 PM
Had to write a review for this polish. I got the color Smokey Taupe and the polish has lasted 6 days with no chipping and close to no tip wear. It literally looks as if I have just applied it. The bottle is a nice classy square shape and the brush is good. Color applies evenly with two coats. I will definitely be looking into getting other colors. EDIT: Wore this again and am still impressed by the longevity of the polish. I applied on Sunday and it is now Friday and there is still no tip wear and most polishes by now have already started to show wear and need to be removed.
I recently started using this foundation again and I can't recall why it wasn't higher up on my list. This foundation is long-wearing especially on my oily skin and covers most redness very well. For actual raised acne spots I use the Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Coverage foundation as a spot concealer, but this foundation does the job for the typical redness. I can't say whether it clears acne though. The packaging is sanitary and the price is on the lower side for department store. I guess my only qualm is that Clinique's foundations lean pink and I have a yellow undertone. I usually correct this with a drop of Coastal Scent's yellow corrector.
I bought the newly released Colour Riche quad in 840 Snooze Addict which is a neutral quad. The packaging is ok, albeit a bit old fashioned looking. Price was typical for drugstore stuff. The pigmentation of these shadows is awful. If you've tried the old Infalliable Wear Infinite Quads, the pigmentation is poor on those as well. You would think that if L'Oreal was releasing new stuff they would improve on the quality, but no, these are no improvement. All I got was sparse shimmer despite using UDPP and the sponge tip applicator which usually deposits a bit more shadow. Save your money.
Eyeliner -Yves Saint Laurent - L'Eyeliner Noir The Black Eyeliner

This is a great liquid liner and I have tried many including UD, Lancome, L'Oreal, Maybelline, NYX, Physician's Formula, Eyeko, Stila, and several Japanese brush tip pens (Dollywink, K-Palette 24 HR). I prefer brush tips because I can get thin lines. The brush tip is perfect for creating thin lines - it is neither too thick nor are the bristles too long. The gold packaging is luxe and the product itself is tops. The liner also doesn't flake when you go over the line and it lasts all day. The price is expensive though.
These are just launched in the US. I saw the display at Target although it was only partially full and bought the shade Rose Taffeta. It's a lovely rosey mauve color. I love this lipstick formula as it is smooth and lightweight although it doesn't produce a sheen. I really detest heavy lipstick formula's so this is perfect for me. The formula is not as moisturizing as the Revlon lip butters. I'd consider the formula more akin to Lancome's Rouge in Love lipsticks. Coverage is fairly pigmented unlike the colour riche balms. Package is nice - the base is similar to the colour riche balms but the top is an opaque gold with a place to click the base into. Will definitely go back and pick up some more once the display is full stocked.
Liquid -Laura Mercier - Oil Free Supreme Foundation
PopStar48 5/3/2012 10:48:00 PM
This the new replacement for the Oil Free foundation. I found the color Sunny Beige to be a perfect match for my light yellow skin. The product comes housed in a nice weight glass bottle with a pump. For me, this formula is long wearing and provides medium to full coverage. A little extra dab on acne scars covers this. As an oily skinned acne prone girl, this doesn't break me out but it doesn't tamp down oil production either. Just doesn't add to it. Color range is good. My only qualm is that the product can be hard to blend.
Liquid -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Makeup

Next to Revlon Colorstay, this is my second favorite drugstore foundation. I got a good color match with Sand and I like how well this foundation stays and lasts even in humid weather and with my oily skin. It doesn't fade around my nose or chin area the oiliest parts of my face. I don't know about the blemish fighting properties though. I would say this foundation has med-full coverage. EDIT: I think they might be discontinuing this foundation since I have seen it on clearance a various stores. Pick one up if you like it.
Great color, like a peachy champagne. I like the OPI wide brush. I have worn this color for about a week with no chipping including base & top coat. I tend to have varying experiences with OPI polish. Darker colors seem to chip faster, but I guess this lighter color doesn't.
A new BB Cream made for the Western market. Color is good - not too pale nor grayish as is typical with a lot of traditional Asian bb creams. Long lasting and hydrating. You can literally feel the water when you put this one. +1 for a physical sunblock and good UVA protection. Coverage is good around light to medium. I suppose the only con for this is limited shade range as it only comes in one color. Otherwise, I would recommend.
I have been using this product for about a month now. First, the scent of the moisturizer is nice and very refreshing. Points for containing a physical sunblock (zinc oxide) for UVA protection and SPF of 30. It moisturizes nicely and doesn't leave a greasy or oily residue at all. In fact, the moisturizer sinks in quickly and provides adequate moisture. Also no breakouts despite the zinc and no white cast either. If it weren't for the packaging which can sometimes be a pain in not dispensing both sides, this product would get 5 lippies from me. I would consider repurchasing especially with all the coupons I get from the biore pore strips boxes.
Treatments (Eye) -Olay - Complete Ageless Eye Brightening Cream

Hated this. Bothered my eyes and did not have a brightening effect at all. The cream is white and very thin with little moisturizing effect. Would definitely not repurchase.
Skincare - Body -Ahava - Dermud Intensive nourishing hand cream

Also received this in my birchbox. Frankly, the scent is a turnoff for me. It is strong and not appealing to my tastes. The cream itself is okay-- moisturizing, but not the most moisturizing I've tried. It also leaves a bit of an oily residue after application. The brown color isn't that attractive either. I think it is overpriced for what it is. Wouldn't purchase a full-size of this.
Got this as part of an Essie cube with 4 minis. Gorgeous nude pale pinky beige color, however, its streaky even with 2 coats. Hard to get even. Wouldn't repurchase.
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Gilly Hicks Eucalyptus Soft Lip Butter
PopStar48 11/8/2010 10:14:00 PM
Love this lip butter. Its soft and moisturizing and has a great light fresh mint taste and scent. I wear it overnight and it smoothes and moisturizes my lips at $10.
Great mineral foundation. Gives amazing coverage and doesn't accentuate pores at all. It looks natural and the color I got is a perfect match. The cover over the sifter is great too to keep from spilling too much powder. I definitely think this one is underrated.
