Skincare - Face -Clarisonic - Acne Brush Head
Pickiis 4/16/2012 8:16:00 AM
I really like this brush head in comparison to the sensitive and deep clean head. The sensitive brush head was good, but nothing spectacular. The deep clean one is way too harsh for my liking, it ruined my skin. This one is a keeper. I am not 100% sure whether the bristles are softer than the sensitive one. But from my observation, the only difference is the bristles are longer, which makes it great to reach the bridge of the nose. I don't know. My skin feels really comfortable when I use it, it feels like I was having a face massage. It feels really gentle and soft. My face feels softer and it glows. I think i'll be sticking to this from now on. I also want to add on top, I am prone to clog pores, but I only get occasional acne. So I can't speak for people with bad acne skin, whether this will work for them better or not.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Deep Pore brush head
Pickiis 4/16/2012 8:03:00 AM
I had such high hope for this, but unfortunately it did not work for me. I find it extremely harsh, i felt raw on several areas on my face after first use.My immediate thought was the bristles felt firmer on my skin, which I didn't enjoy very much. After the program finished, I didn't feel much deep cleansing, i felt like it was trying to take my skin off. Prior to this, I have used the sensitive and acne brush head. I liked the sensitive brush, but it didn't really stand out to me, I thought it did a decent job. In comparison, I really really like the acne brush head. The bristles look the same as the sensitive brush head, but longer, which makes it more flexible to reach bridge of the nose. My skin feels very clean, relax and soft. It felt like it just had a face massage.

Cleansers -MD Formulations - Facial Cleanser Sensitive Skin Formula
Pickiis 1/16/2012 8:32:00 PM
Does it even make sense when I say this melts white heads underneath the surface and dislodges blackheads? That's exactly what it does. I have very dehydrated blackhead/whitehead prone skin with occasional acne. The white heads and blackheads I get are very very small, maybe like pinhead size (sorry for the visual description), they are not something other people can see, but I can, and I can feel them, which annoy the hell out of me. I pretty much do extaction every second day if i have a small mirror in hand (i know this is really bad). This cleanser is great for clearing them. Something even the clarisonic couldn't do. This cleanser may not give the squeaky feeling that u get with foaming cleansers, but u just have to trust that this really does cleanse very well and get use to that feeling. It also doesnt dry my skin out like every other foaming cleanser out there, which means I need less moisturiser, which also means more breathable skin, better skin tone. I put half a thumb size of the cleanser on dry skin, massage in circular motion, add a little bit of water, massage for another 3 minutes or so, rinse off, then I may or may not go shower first before I wipe my face with a wet face towel. If I feel especially congested that time of the month, I may use it with clarisonic and a peel off mask after. Yeh, I will definitely repurchase again, but only the sensitive skin version, cos in worry the normal version might be abit too harsh.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - juicy glace 09 chocolat sumbawa
Pickiis 10/1/2007 6:20:00 AM
This is SOOOOO beautiful! i had a tube of juicy tube years ago and the texture was so sticky which was the reason y i didnt buy anymore juicy tube. but i couldnt resist when i saw this colour, it's a nude clearish colour gloss with golden shimmer not glitter, it is a beautiful tan colour. and the texture?! i absolutely love it! it is not sticky at all, so smooth, just glides onto my lips, no oiliness, and slightly minty, which i also love. it says on the packaging that it adds hydrating and plumping effects and it certainly does. i bought it today and i already wanna stock up. the only down side is it's expensive, AU$44. but i will definitely repurchase.

Masks -Pevonia Botanica - Pevonia Enzymo-Spherides Peeling Cream

A white clay like cream, which kinda lathers up a little with water. Very effective exfoliant, more effective than dermalogica. you can kinda adjust the degree of exfolation with the time spend messaging. It is very gentle when use for 2 minutes as suggests on the product, or a stronger exfoliation when use longer. I usually use it for around 5 minutes. Skin is ultra smooth after this. however, it is still quite a potent product, so shouldnt use more than twice a week i suggest.

Moisturizers -Pevonia Botanica - Combination Skin Care Cream
Pickiis 2/25/2007 7:05:00 PM
By far the best brand I've tried, in terms of moisturisers, they are so well formulated! I love both this and the oily skin creme. These two cremes can both hydrate ALL day without having to worry it might clog pores. I have been searching for life a lotion/creme that can hydrate my skin all day, as i have VERY dehydrated skin and my skin cant tolerate fucogel-base. Ever since I started using this two months ago, i did see a slight improvement in fine lines, and most importantly, i dun feel tight by mid-day anymore. i dun even have to use a separate eye creme. The oily skin creme, i use on my oily days, it does keep my skin matify all day, and this combination skin one for slightly drier days. The only one thing i dont like is the packaging, i much prefer it comes with a tube than a open tub.

Moisturizers -La Mer - Moisturizing Lotion
Pickiis 2/25/2007 6:48:00 PM
Oh man.... I deserved it! Few years ago I bought the creme version and didnt like it, so i went and bought the lotion version and didnt like it either! Am i stupid or wat?! I just dont learn! Just like the creme, it sat on top of my skin and doesnt really hydrate. Although, i like the sheen it left on my skin afterward, but still doesnt adjust the price. This lotion version is just easier to use as it spreads much easier, other than that, i think the creme version is better in terms of wat it has to offer.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Charmzone New Control Cream

I first discovered this 10 years ago when i was in high school, bought 2 tubes of this and didnt take notice of it until i hit mid 20s, when i now have dryer, more fine line, hard to pleased skin. Believe it or not and it doesnt sound great, i had a brand new tube of this sitting in my drawer for 7 yrs untouched and it didnt seem off. Anyway... i've decided to DIY after having amazing result with my facialist, which involved a half hour facial massage. Sometimes, my skin gets REALLY flaky and nothing can completely remove all those dead skin cells sitting on my nose and chin. If it does remove, my skin became red and irritated cos i've scrubbed my skin SO hard with a muslin cloth or scrub, then few days later, it gets all scabbie, thats how bad it is. Anyway... after re-discovering this massage cream, removing dead skin cells became so easy and gentle. I can guarantee you this works better than any exfoliant on earth. Not only does this remove flakes, with a good massage, this thing moisturise, firms and makes my fine line much less noticable. When i first used this, i had heaps of rubber-y bits came off, now i dont have much, I think they were the oil of the massage cream with the dead skin cells. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wanna have a healthier complexion. Oh... I mostly follow a mask after this, whether it'll be cleansing or hydrating to make the most of it.

Cleansers -Chanel - Blanc Essentiel Lightening Foaming Cleanser
Pickiis 11/18/2006 8:30:00 PM
Horrible cleanser, gotta be the worst I've used from a high profile skincare brand. This stings my eyes and skin BADLY. It doesnt rinse well with large amount of water either, left my face dry, rough and flaky. I bought this in early 2005 and have gave it a few chances but bad experience every single time no matter what condition my skin was under. Now, i have literally a full size tube sitting at home till it expires, so i can throw it in the bin. Total waste of money! I wouldnt even use it on my body.

Toners -Living Nature - extra hydrating gel
Pickiis 8/22/2006 5:27:00 AM
Im in loooooove~~ with everything i've tried so far from Living Nature, the toner, moisturiser, mask. Never been happier. This IS a toner according to living nature website and is really a gel like its name suggests, but not sticky upon application. I apply a pea size amount after cleansing, and that leaves my skin very hydrated already, just like Lancome tonique comfort without the fragrance. would say is a little expensive as a toner AUD$40 and small size, but will lasts a long time, so that evens out. doesnt aggrevate acne either to my acne prone skin. Love it.

Cleansers -Living Nature - Purifying cleanser
Pickiis 8/21/2006 8:22:00 AM
Im in loooooove~~ with everything i've tried so far from Living Nature, the toner, moisturiser, mask. Have never been happier with a brand than this, in fact i think this is it!!!! I'll start with the cleanser. This is in some way similar to Jurlique foaming cleanser, both has got tea tree oil in it, so it smells rather strong, the foam is rather thin, doesnt have that rich cushioning if u know wat i mean. At first, i wasnt so used to the texture, as i was very used to my former favourite cleanser, skII which has very rich foam. Anyway, this cleans really well without drying, like Nuxe, except Nuxe doesnt cleanse all that well, and my skII cleans very well, but abit too drying. So, this cleanser is just perfect. One bonus is i know there is no chemicals and preservatives or artificial fragrances, not doing any harm to my skin at all. For its performance, i give 5 lippies, but price wise and packaging aint so good, it retails for $40, which is abit much for a cleanser, but still much cheaper than my skII. and the packaging doesnt allow precise control of the amount i wanna use, usually ended up squeezing out more than wat i want and my cleanser is going fast. Have been using Living Nature with MD formulations, and my skin is loving me for it.

Masks -Ole Henriksen - Firm Action - Pore Refining Mask
Pickiis 8/7/2006 7:00:00 AM
Im skeptical about this product. This mask smells wonderful, quite uplifting, so i enjoy using it, especially after a day of stress at work. The texture is rather strange, it's like mousse before application and turns foamy during wash off. I believe the tightening effect is due to the foam it produces, just like when we use soap. If thats the case, then the effect will go away as the mask gets rinse off thoroughly, which is the case for me. Initially, i felt the tightening at the beginning, then i realised it wasnt rinsed off completely, so i washed my face again during shower, and the tightening effect completely disappeared. Then, i looked up the ingredients list on the product and guess wat's second on the list - sodium cocoyl isethionate, if you look up google, it is a surfactant, which are commonly use in shampoo, detergent as a foaming agent. I dont doubt its ability to clean, cos my skin do feel clean after this, but i also wonder if i will get the same result by leaving my foamy cleanser on for 30 minutes. I've only used it once, so im not going to comment on its long term effect, but i will update later. mmm.... I hope this isnt going to clog pores since it has lots of surfactant in it, but it sounds like most MUAer are happy with it, so lets hope i will like it too.
