Deodorants -Dove - Go fresh - cucumber & green tea scent
Peachey27Mel 12/31/2012 5:29:00 PM
This is my all-time favorite deodorant. It smells so fresh and clean and thus makes me FEEL fresh and clean. And the scent seems to complement or enhance any perfume or scented lotion I wear along with it. The scent seems to last all day- I always feel and smell fresh when I wear this. And my clothes are always dry. I have never had any major issues with perspiration, so I don't know how this would work for heavy sweaters. My favorite way to keep myself fresh and dry is to use a solid cystal deodorant as soon as I get out of the shower. Then after that's dry and I'm about to dress, I use the Dove. In even hot and humid summers, that combo keeps me dry.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Dermasil Labs Dry Skin Treatment Original Lotion
Peachey27Mel 12/8/2012 2:15:00 PM
I picked this up at the Dollar Tree for $1 as an all purpose lotion to take on vacation with me.... with the intention of just tossing it out before I returned home to save room in my suitcase. But, I ended up liking it so much I brought it back home with me. It is an especially good hand cream- it keeps the super dry skin on my hands and around my cuticles under control. Works great all over the body too- just as well (if not better!) than much more expensive brands. It has a very, VERY subtle smell of roses (it's barely perceptable and fades right away). The ingredient list shows that this does contain a teeny bit of rose oil and vanilla oil (they're close to the last ingredients on the list). I was tempted to try this on my face, but decided to pass due to the fragrance oils. Grab a bottle the next time you're at a Dollar Store- if nothing else, this is a fabulous hand cream.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure - Polar Bare
Peachey27Mel 12/6/2012 10:41:00 PM
I am far from being a nailpolish expert... every two weeks I throw on a pale shade and pretty much just let it wear off. So, obviously I only wear very light, close to my own nail's color shades. I picked up this color mainly because it was 50% off and it appeared to be sheer. I usually prefer more of a pink shade, but thought I'd try something different. Well, this IS very sheer. Darn near close to clear. But I don't mind, that's kind of what I prefer. It adds the tiniest hint of white while adding a little shine to boot. I kind of like the thick wide brush and had no problems with it. Nor did I have any issues with streaking. Just don't even remotely expect opaque. This is for gals that want sheer and natural shades. It's not bad- but I think I'd rather have a pink toned polish.

Fragrances -Revlon - Jean Nate After Bath Splash original scent
Peachey27Mel 12/3/2012 6:10:00 AM
I love that they now make this in a spray bottle! Now I can hop out of the shower and just spritz, spritz, spritz! Back in the old days, I would have to try to pour a little in my hand first and then try to splash it on. I think I was given my first Jean Nate gift set was I was about ten years old. The smell of it makes my think of childhood Christmas mornings and days of being a pre-teen. After many years of not using it, I passed a tester in the drugstore and the smell of it brought memories flooding back- I then had to have it again. I love that the after bath splash smells (and feels) light, cool, and refreshing. A bit of lemon-citrus smell to it. I have to say I don't like the cologne spray, which seems to have a heavier scent. The scent drives my beau wild- probably makes him think he's back in high school. This is an old classic.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Feria Haircolor
Peachey27Mel 12/3/2012 6:03:00 AM
I used this in a medium brown shade and the color came out sooooo dark. Which I wouldn't have minded so much if the color didn't look so flat and dull and "wig-like." There doesn't appear to be any dimension to the color. And my hair seems the worse for wear to say the least. For some reason my hair now turns into a tangled bird's nest whenever I wash it. It must take me 15 minutes to gently comb out the tangles from my wet hair after a shower. My hair has never been like this before- it all started a few days after I used this box color. I am VERY dissatified with this brand overall and would not recommend it or repurchase it. L'oreal and Clairol are much better bets.
