Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
PeaceBaby 2/16/2010 4:54:00 PM

It's pretty cheap for the massive ammount given. Tried it and after about a month of use I noticed that my skin was flaring up with acne. I told my esthetician I was using Cetaphil and she urged me to stop. She explained that it doesn't do a great job cleaning the skin, it leaves residue behind, and that my results were typical. Gave it to my boyfriend. He hasn't had any issues with it, but, thankfully, he does not wear any make up! pros: lots of product for little money. cons: poor cleanser for me. Maybe too mild.

Polishes -OPI - Here Today ... Aragon Tomorrow
rated 1 of 5
PeaceBaby 12/9/2009 10:40:00 PM

ehhh... This polish did nothing for me. After two heavy coats it read flat black, not dark green. As said before, it is really streaky. I don't think I will use it again. Sephora's Dark Room is a much better dark green.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
rated 2 of 5
PeaceBaby 12/9/2009 10:31:00 PM

I understand the draw of this scent. It is sweet, warm and pleasant. Great for younger people and it has a great price point. Though I can appreciate the scent, I do not wear it. I find it too sacchariny and artificial. This scent can easily be over applied. If you choose to wear it, please go easy, as it can poison a room.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer Oil -Free
rated 1 of 5
PeaceBaby 5/13/2009 2:02:00 AM

This is the worst primer I have ever owned. Others like MAC's and Philosophy's The Present make my skin feel silky and perfect my look. This one doesn't seem to do a thing for me. I reminds me of an oil free moisturizer not a primer. HATE IT.

Shampoo -LUSH - Daddyo shampoo
rated 3 of 5
PeaceBaby 3/24/2009 1:01:00 PM

I wasn't sure how well Daddyo worked until today, I bought it to tone down the yellow in my platinum hair. I got in the bath and spread it over my hair, then proceeded to do a crossword puzzle. So, I lost track of time. Fast forward to me freaking out over my now purple highlights. OMG OMG OMG. I have tried using my regular shampoo to get the purple out, but it is still there. Be careful with this one if you are platinum.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush
rated 2 of 5
PeaceBaby 2/24/2009 10:15:00 AM

My sister and I each purchased one of these three months ago. She was so excited to get one, and because she is very critical make up, lotions and potions, I figured I needed one too. Initially we both loved it. Three weeks later she took hers back to the store, proclaiming that it did nothing. I waited so see if longer term usage had better results. I think she was right on this one. I took mine back yesterday. Over all, it is not worth the money. Yes the vibration is initially intoxicating. But, I never saw any results. (I still had my cycle of pre-period pimples, leading me to think that my skin problems are hormonal). I suppose it is a great way to maintain a skincare regime, kind of like training wheels. To me this product is just ok.

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Shimmy Shimmy Massage Bar
rated 3 of 5
PeaceBaby 1/19/2009 1:20:00 AM

I kind of really like this product. I like the smell. It's super moisturizing. It's great to lube up with this bar after a shower. But, I am not sure about the glitter. Although the glitter is fun, I kind of feel like a shimmering stripper, not that there is anything wrong with that, but I am not a stripper. Therefore, I don't know how appropriate the product is if worn leaving the house. pros: Nice smell and moisture. Pretty pink and gold glitter. Fun to rub on body. cons: Glitter can look tacky. Glitter spreads onto clothing, furniture and my cat! Product has no container, and cannot be taken out of the house w/o being wrapped in a plastic bag or some other homemade container .

Lip Gloss -Make Up For Ever - Glossy Full
rated 4 of 5
PeaceBaby 1/14/2009 1:00:00 PM

The tube makes the product sound great, saying, "Vinyl Effect Plumping Lip Gloss." Though the product is decent, it certainly does not live up to any of it's claim. Glossy Full's shine disappears in minutes. And just because it has a little mint in it, does not mean it plumps. That being said, I think it makes a good moisturizing treatment, but it's not really a gloss. Pros: Improves the quality of lips. Moisturizing. Non-Sticky. Pleasant mintiness. Convenient tube. Cons: Doesn't do what is advertised. Fast fading glossiness. Not worth the price.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Snow Fairy Shower Gel
rated 4 of 5
PeaceBaby 1/13/2009 5:51:00 PM

Snow Fairy is my guilty pleasure. This shower gel smells like sweet, fruity, pink candy. It is definitely not a very mature scent, but I love coating my body in this stuff. Snow Fairy kind of reminds me of Pink Sugar, which I secretly love the smell of, but feel too old to wear out. I just picked up six bottles of this stuff when LUSH had their after holiday, buy one get one sale. SWEET. Pros: Delicious smell. Great in shower or bath. Cons: Smell doesn't really stay on skin.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Flying Fox Shower Gel
rated 4 of 5
PeaceBaby 1/13/2009 5:37:00 PM

Apparently the scent of Flying Fox is not for everyone according to some of the other reviews. I love it, so does my BF. I'm not into floral scents, so it's odd that I am so attracted to this one, which is heavy on the Jasmine. To me it smells super sexy. I think it is a great shower gel/bubble bath. I have bought several bottles. Pros: Super SEXY smell. Makes for a very enjoyable shower. Cons: No scent staying power.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #116 Blush Brush
rated 3 of 5
PeaceBaby 1/13/2009 5:18:00 PM

I have a love/hate relationship with this brush. It is a great multi-purpose brush. I apply my moisturizer, prep+prime, foundation and concealer with this brush. I especially like it for my foundation, it allows for a beautiful finish that looks natural and not painted on. It gives me a lovely airbrushed look. You can even use it for blush. I hate this brush because it sheds black hair all over my face and I have only had it for a month. I thought it might be defective so I tried to exchange it at MAC (w/o the receipt), the MA told me I just needed to give it a good washing. I had washed it, but I was getting nowhere with her, so I took it back. LAME. I want another one that doesn't leave me with a black beard. Pros: One of the best do everything brushes I have ever had. Great for blending flawless foundation. Cons: The shedding is super annoying.

Mascara -MAC - Plush Lash
rated 5 of 5
PeaceBaby 1/13/2009 4:58:00 PM

I was not sure about Plush Lash at first, as I used to be a Zoom Lash devotee. Now Plush is my favorite. It is drier than the Zoom and seems to make my shorter/finer lashes look fuller, longer and much more natural then other mascaras. It goes on lighter so I apply several coats. I love the way I can get my lashes to look with this product. The tube is interesting too. It is soft and squeezable. I guess you can squish it to get more of the mascara onto the brush. Pros: Creates thick, separated, beautiful lashes. Does not clump. Does not leaves lash prints on my upper eyelid. Stays on without smudging. Cons: Not a one coat mascara, you have to really work it on.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
rated 5 of 5
PeaceBaby 1/10/2009 4:26:00 AM

This is the be all, end all eye liner! I wish I would have found this product 10 years ago. It is amazing. This product allows for perfect precision. Great for detailed cat eyes. I have never used a liner that stays the way this one does. Buy it.

Lotions/ Creams -Gold Bond - Ultimate Healing Skin Therapy Lotion
rated 5 of 5
PeaceBaby 1/8/2009 1:53:00 PM

This is my go-to hand cream. The packaging might not be pretty, and the scent is very light, but it works! I would love it if all of the cute almond, marshmallow, and banana scented hand creams I have tried could work half as good as Gold Bond, but alas. The cream is thick and melts in a minute or two, leaving my hands sealed with moisture and not greasy at all. After I use it my skin feels healthier, looks noticeably smoother and better, and the moisture stays for hours. My boyfriend can't seem to use enough of it on his chapped 'working man' hands. It is our winter weather must have! (It also works well as a super moisturising body lotion, just let in soak in, or it might leave a residue on your black clothes.)

Conditioner -LUSH - Veganese conditioner
rated 1 of 5
PeaceBaby 1/8/2009 1:39:00 PM

I purchased Veganese with Daddyo shampoo for my strait, fine, blond chemically treated. After using the products two days in a row, I noticed that my healthy looking hair looked drier, duller, frizzier at the ends, and LIMP. . The Veganese did not seem moisturizing at all. It seemed rather acidic in the shower. Though it is billed as a 'light conditioner', I would never guess that actually was a conditioner. And it left my hair with more tangles than I have had in forever. Although two days might not be long enough to really test a product, I am not willing to use something again that is so noticeably not good for my mane. I am definitely returning Veganese.
