Polishes -Revlon - Cherries in the Snow
PattyTheK 12/28/2012 8:05:00 PM
I really wanted to like this. It was thick and gloppy. Doesn't coat evenly at all and don't get me started on how it stained my fingers. Absolutely horrible. Color looks very pretty, I just wish it would work.

Blush -NYX - Rouge Cream Blush - Boho Chic

I freakin' love this stuff. I don't know if I'll ever buy a dry blush again. For those of you who have a hard time blending, try using a stipple brush. This gives application perfection!! As for the color - looks great on me. Can't wait to try some more colors.

Styling Products -Beyond The Zone - Noodle Head
PattyTheK 10/5/2012 11:07:00 PM
I've only had to use this product one time and it made a believer out of me. All my life I have had to deal with my frizzy hair. Some of my hair is curly, some of it is straight, most of it is wavy. There is no pattern to it, parts here and there are straight - while this part is curly but OH look this side is wavy. Oh did I mention the frizz? My hair only looks good if I flat iron it. No frizz. I started growing my hair out for locks of love and the task of flat ironing it everyday was getting to be too much work. I've tried many products and different tactics on my unruly hair - some of them didn't work, some did OK. But it got to the point where I wore a ponytail almost every day. I read reviews on here about Noodle Head. I decided to try it out. I shampoo'd, towel dried, then applied about a half dollar size in my hair (I got long hair). My hair dried perfectly and there was no frizz. And my natural hair LOOKED NICE. I mean, this normally cavewoman look was gone. I couldn't believe the curliness and the wavyness ... all uniform laying perfectly! I gave it 4 stars because I tend to jump the gun ... I will review it later on once I've used it for a while. I still have Get N Creamed and Straight Shot to use!!!

Polishes -China Glaze - hey sailor
PattyTheK 9/15/2012 4:53:00 PM
I love this red. I've only had it on for about four days and everyone wants to know what color it is and where did I get it! I don't usually wear red nail polish, but this may be my go-to red from now on. For the past 3 years I have worn nothing but french manicures (they go with everything!) but recently I have been addicted looking at OPI, Essie and China Glaze colors and dare I say been trying out new, bold colors. China Glaze is probably the best nail polish you can get for $5.00 and I can compare it to OPI. I have not been too impressed with Essie but maybe it's because I'm not picking out flattering colors or getting bad bottles. This color is a good, blue-red but on the bright side. No glimmer or frost, but not exactly cream either. It's a great balance of an everyday color to a night on the town color.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
PattyTheK 9/1/2012 3:04:00 PM
This is my everyday, HG mascara. It's perfect for everyday/daytime wear. I have bought this many many times and I hope they never discontinue it. I buy a new tube every three months, for $4.99. It truly is thick and it fattens my lashes. Love it.

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
PattyTheK 8/31/2012 6:42:00 PM
My HG powder is Coty Airspun in Transculent. Anyone who uses it knows how much of a pain it can be to use it and it's not portable. I went through several kinds/brands before settling on MAC Studio Fix. I use the powder for one touch up during the day, and it's almost like I reapplied my foundation over again. It's that good. I may need another touch up in the evening, if I'm going out. I absolutely love the design (keeping the sponge separate from the product - genius!) and the sleek look is easy to handle. Very portable and durable - I keep this in my purse at all times (I am hard on my purses) and I have even dropped the case a couple of times. Still intact. My only gripe with MAC is that they really need a "10" for us PPPs. They matched me as a NW15, which is still a bit dark. If they could only make a NW10 or N10, I would be in heaven. Even the sales lady agreed - she said it was a shade off and I needed something lighter, but a NW15 was as light as MAC makes. In conclusion - I would definitely rebuy. It may just become my HG powder if MAC ever decides to make the "10."

Lip Gloss -Too Faced - Glamour Gloss Volumizing Lip Gloss with Lip Injection Comfort Plump in Pillow Talk
PattyTheK 8/29/2012 1:20:00 PM
$19.00 for a lip gloss. $19.00!!!!! Insane, right? This is wonderful, non-sticky, good-feeling, good-tasting, good-smelling lip junk!! I got this in a sample kit from Ulta. It's teeny and small, but I looove this stuff. I absolutely cannot justify the price. This is why I would not buy this product again. Unless it goes on sale or gets discontinued at a great price. I am hunting for a dupe. I just read on here that NYX's "whipped" is a similar match in color (thanks for tip!).

Foundations -Palladio - Herbal Liquid FoundationTubes
PattyTheK 8/15/2012 1:41:00 PM
I have this in Ivory and it's currently my daily foundation. I love the way it dries and stays in place. It feels really light but it covers a multitude of imperfections. I have found this to be a satisfactory replacement for my BeautiControl Secret Agent foundation in P1. My only gripe is that they could make a lighter ivory. It doesn't exactly match my skintone but the pros outweigh the cons here. Doesn't break me out and lasts all day ... and I love the tube! With all that said, still looking for a foundation that will match my skintone. Until then ... the search continues!

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup - Vanilla
PattyTheK 8/15/2012 1:12:00 PM
I really wanted to try the Ivory 001; but the lightest the stores carry around here is the Vanilla 002. I bought the Vanilla ... it's kind of a yellow/neutral undertone, I usually need something with a pink undertone. The color wasn't an exact match, but it's definitely light enough where I think it will work. I didn't notice any sparkle at all. It dries nice and it doesn't feel like I have anything on my face. The main problem I had with this, was blending. There were a couple of areas where I needed to add more to cover redness. Those areas just ended up looking kinda blotchy. I then lightly applied with my MAC powder. Hopefully once I get a good feel for it I won't have this problem. I am going to purchase the Ivory 001 from an online store, and maybe I'll hit the jackpot. I'm willing to work with a foundation if I can find the exact skintone match! **** UPDATE 8/29/12 I bought this in Ivory 001. The color match is fantastic!!! I love it. I did notice (as another reviewer stated) that in pictures I photographed ghost white. Oh well, I would rather have that happen than walk around with a mask on. It has subtle/light coverage, so I won't be using this on those days when I need to cover up my redness. But, overall, I really like this, the "shimmer" really wakes my dull face up.

Skincare - Body -Booths - Original Bath and Body Oil
PattyTheK 4/1/2012 9:07:00 PM
A very good product. I used Neutrogena's oil for years, and have tried Avon's different oils as well. What I like most about this oil, is that it blends very well and your body is NOT oily/slick after applying it! Plus, you get a lot of product - what a bonus! The smell is pleasant - not flowery nor chemical-like, just a pleasant scent that will go with most anything. **** UPDATE 8/15/12 After a while I noticed I started breaking out in bumps on my legs. They went away after a couple of days. I'm pretty sure this caused it. Dropped it from a 4 lippie to a 3 lippie overall rating due to this. I will try this again in the fall/winter.

Liquid -Beauticontrol - Secret Agent Undercover Makeup
PattyTheK 2/5/2012 9:48:00 PM
I use P1 and the color matches my skin very well. For me, there are pros and cons. Pros: I use it when I need extra coverage when my face goes "red". Stays put once I apply it. Comes in an easy tube, which by design is quite nice. Cons: I can't wear this in the summer at all because it looks heavy and cake-y. And it FEELS heavy and cake-y in the summer. Because it's in a tube it's hard to see how much I have left, so I'm never quite sure when I'm going to run out. Plus, I got to order it through their site, which is kind of a hassle. So, even though I do like the product, and I have bought it several times, the 3 lippie overall rating is mainly due to the cons outweighing the pros. I will still continue to purchase and use during fall/winter months.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil - Milk
PattyTheK 2/5/2012 8:05:00 PM
First of all, this product is not a primer nor does it advertise as a primer, so you can't really say it sucks as a primer because it isn't one! I have read both the negative and positive reviews here before buying. I figured $3.50 wasn't going to break me if it didn't work out. I ended up purchasing "milk" and "cottage cheese". "Milk" - I've used it for the past two days - with a primer - and couldn't be more happier. For me it makes an excellent highlighter for my brow bone. I don't need to use a lot, so I'm guessing this one tube will last me a while, and I like getting a lot of bang for my buck! I can't say it will work for everyone, though. I don't have oily eyelids but I can see where this product would just end up a mess for someone who does. ***** UPDATE 8/15/12 I'm still using Milk on an almost daily basis. I am barely making a dent in the product! I hardly ever touch Cottage Cheese - I find it too shiny for daytime wear.

Tools -Urban Decay - Grind House (sharpener)
PattyTheK 2/5/2012 10:16:00 AM
I just picked mine up recently. Let me tell you, this is a very quality product (so far). I paid $10 for it at Ulta. It is very expensive, but trust me, it's worth it since is sharpens pencils so smooooooooth. Hopefully, the sharpener will hold up over time. Great little investment seeing how little waste from your pencils it produces ... everything to a nice point!

Eye Shadow -Ulta - Twilight
PattyTheK 2/4/2012 6:37:00 PM
This was my first try at Ulta eye shadow. Such a beautiful color. I was really impressed with the quality and blending! I have red hair and fair skin and I generally buy browns/neutrals/taupes ... and this color covers them all. I can easily see this color becoming my favorite. I got this during Ulta's buy 2 get 2 free so it was $3.50. And you get a LOT of product. They got tons of color choices, can't wait to try the other 3 I got. Overall, very happy ... will definitely buy more colors in the future.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Single - Envy
PattyTheK 1/31/2012 10:35:00 PM
My boyfriend never really notices my make up in a general "wow" kind of way, he likes me without it, but that's besides the point. Anywho, when I wore this he said "Hey, look at that eye shadow!" Not sure if he was being sarcastic or what, but he smiled. I'm very very pale with blue eyes and red hair, so this really pops out on me. The only drawback is that it's waaaay too sparkly for my tastes for daytime wear. Now, the middle of the road rating I gave is due to it's staying power, and it's also difficult to blend with other colors. Plus this will last me forever, so I doubt I will HAVE to buy another one. :) It's a wearable, lovely green for anyone's make up arsenal. Must be very popular, too. I had to go to 3 different stores because it was sold out at the first two!
