Moisturizers -LUSH - Serum - Saving Face [DISCONTINUED]
Parodybarbiegirl 9/21/2010 3:57:00 PM
I love this stuff. I bought it because it got some good reviews on this site and I needed something to wage war against the sudden break-out I had. This thing seriously got rid of the spots in 3 days ( only night uses). Now I use it every other day. The only problem I have with this is that it's so difficult to apply. I have resonably cold hands and it takes forever to get some of this on my skin. But if you put it some place warm before you use, it'll be alright. About the "mold" everyone has been talking about. I bought mine at Lush Antwerp and the sales lady ( who was very friendly and helpfull... All Lushies are so kind) said it could turn blue. She told me it was a problem with the formula (some of the ingredians couse the bar to go blue in places) She herself and several other girls of the store had taken some of the blue bars home and used them. They didn't have any trouble at all. My bar got the blue spots a few days after I bought it. I figured someone has to try and see it the blue is harmfull and I am glad to say it didn't do anything bad to my skin. The serum still works like it should and my health hasn't gone downhill eather because of the "mold".

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Lip Balm
Parodybarbiegirl 11/26/2009 1:22:00 PM
I'm reviewing the limited edition christmas lipblams in Black velvet apricot and merry cranberry. let me start by saying that if you take in consideration that a lipblam costs € 7 and these cost € 5 for 13 g (0.45 0Z) you're getting a lot of produc tfor a little price (at least for a the body shop product). They regretfully come in jars (not hygiënic) but these jars are filled to the brim. Some are difficult to open. (My apricot one keeps getting stuck) The product itself is very moisturizing and actualy has a good stayingpower. This is importend becaus the lipbalms have little, golden glitters in them, so the lips get a nice glossy finish without overdoing it. Black velvet apricot is a nice neutral, pink shade that goed on pretty sheer on the lips (would be nice on top of a nude lipstick). Merry cranberry gives of a darker color. it's not as red as n the jar though. it gives lips a nice redish hue. The balms smell devine!!!! My favorite is the apricot. i'm very happy with these balms, especialy because they dubble up as lipglosses. I would repurchase this if it wasn't limeted edtion.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Lip Butter
Parodybarbiegirl 11/26/2009 1:08:00 PM
I have a TBS lip butter in wild cherry and I love it. This product doesn't dry out my lips at all. The scent is very strong. other people can smell it when I apply it and when I'm wearing it. But honestly they don't mind and i don't eather. I'm not crazy about the fact that it comes in a pot (not hygienic but I think that because it is a lipbutter it cannot be put in a twist-up container. The product leaves a nice creamy sheen to my lips which is nce because lipglosses and lipsticks are very drying on my lips. This is my everyday, nude, moisturizing lipgloss.

Mascara -Max Factor - False lash effect
Parodybarbiegirl 11/11/2009 4:46:00 PM
When I first used this mascara I wasn't impressed at all. The brush was too clumsy and it clumped like there was no tomorrow. It ended up at the botom of my make-up bag and I continued using the max factor masterpiece mascara. Unfortunatly I ran out of that one a few weeks ago, so I started using this one again. This time it worked like a charm. I already have a lot of lashes but this mascara makes it look like I have impalants. it realy gives a false lash effect. In my experiance it doesn't give much volume and because the brsuh is so clumsy I get mascara smeers quete easily on my eyelid. I payed about € 16 for this mascara which i think is expensive for a drugstore mascara. Overall i'm happy with this mascara but I ducked it two lippies because of the price, the brush and the fact t didn't do it's job from the start. I have knowticed that cover girl last blast has exacly the same packeging. I will update this when I start comparing the two.

Moisturizers -Clarins - Moisture Quenching Hydra-Balance Lotion SPF 15
Parodybarbiegirl 11/11/2009 5:20:00 AM
I was using the shiseido pureness moisturizer (the one in the pot) but it doesn't have SPF in it and I didn't want to use a sunscreen seperatly. I have a problem with big pores that clog realy fast so I was afraid a sunscreen would clog them. Come summer I was still looking for a good moisturizer. The girl at my local perfumerie recommended this because it was a realy warm summer in Belgium at the time and this moisturizer is targeted for warm climates. When I started using this at the beginning of june I put this on in the morning (after cleansing, toning, etc). It was realy warm weather so sometimes I wouldn't put anything on after it. I must say it kept me matt for most of the day and it hydrates just enough. Sometimes I would even put my shiseido tinted moisturizer over this and it wouldn't make me shiny. This product does not clog my pores at all. I've been using it for almost 5 months now and I'm halfway into my (1.7 OZ/50 ml) bottle. The product still works good even though it's a lot colder now. I thought that once it got colder and dryer , this wouldn't hydrate my skin enough but I was wrong. I don't know about people wth sensitive skin, but this product didn't break me out and I use a mix of product (not all from the same line) The bottle is hygienic and the pump makes it easy to dose the product. I will most definatly repurchase this again, even though it is expensive.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Seaweed mattifying moisture lotion SPF 15
Parodybarbiegirl 7/8/2009 3:37:00 PM
Through make-up alley I heared about this product. I'm looking for a good moisturizer with SPF because using SPF will lower the chance of premature wrinkels. Before trying this out I was using Shiseido's pureness moisturizing gel, which I love but it has no spf and is to light for the winter. The Body Shop moisturizer promisses shine controle. I must say I'm less than impressed. After applying this (no matter how small the amount) it left a greasy residu on my face. It gives plenty of moisture to my dryer areas but doesn't controle the shine on the T-Zone. The worst part is that it clogges pores, realy badly. I have more blackheads on my nose because of this moisturizer then I did before I even started a serious skincare routine.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Viva Glam VI SE Lipglass
Parodybarbiegirl 5/1/2009 11:19:00 AM
I bought this souly because the profit went to a good cause but after I tried it I fell in love with it. This has a good lila/pinkish pigmentation, it smells good and it stays on very long. I've never had anything (lipstick or gloss) that stayed as long as this thing. It is sticky, like all lipglasses but it doesn't bother me.

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
Parodybarbiegirl 5/1/2009 10:57:00 AM
The packeging is very good especialy when you work with other people,it's very easy to get the right amount out. It's no good for dark cirkels because like any liquide concealer it sets in folds and fine lines. It's consistency is very thick (like super concentrated foundation) that makes is more difficult to blend out. When I use this on days that I just wear powder foundation it casts dark patches on my skin. The coverige is great but I'm hesitive about trying it every day because I have a feeling it will clog pores.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium/Dark
Parodybarbiegirl 5/1/2009 10:51:00 AM
The price is ok for a MAC product I expected to pay at least 25 euro but it only cost 20. In MAC products I'm an NW 20 so I was very surpriced when they recommended the medium/dark one but I haven't had any problems with it. I use this as a settingpowder on my T-zone and it works great I only have to touch-up every 5 hours or so. The compact it came in wasn't that good and the powderpuff was rubish. I depotted it and put it in my hello kitty beautypowder compact which is way sturdier and prettier. It has only one downpart... many layers will look caky.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #116 Blush Brush
Parodybarbiegirl 5/1/2009 10:44:00 AM
This is the very first MAC brush I ever bought and I'm very content with it. I only owned angled blush brushes and I wanted to try something different. I almost fell flat out on my back when the saleslady told me the price but I went for it anyway. When I first tried tit the bristles were a little prickly but after I washed it the feeling was gone. it picks up an amazing amout of color (this thing makes the revlon colorstay blushes turn up on your face after one application!!!) I ducking one piont however because it doesn't bledn the color that well. The shape of it makes it perfect als a blush, contour and highlight brush I probably won't buy this again because ...... I can say with confidence that this brush will probably last for the rest of my life. After washes it still has not shed on single bristle. this is a keeper and a future family heirloom ;-)

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Kabuki Brush
Parodybarbiegirl 5/1/2009 10:35:00 AM
I bought this brush on ebay so I can't comment on the retail price. I own the full coverage buki and it does what the name says, great coverage. The brush is nice and dence and so far it hasn't shedded yet, eventhough I wash it once or twice a week. The only downpiont it that it doesn't feel nice on the face. The brissles are slightly prickly. However that doesn't bother me that much. A person with sensitive skin might finf this more importend. I don't think I'll buy this brush again because I think it's going to last a very long time.

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Pink Kabuki
Parodybarbiegirl 5/1/2009 10:29:00 AM
I bought this brush on ebay so I can't comment on the price on the coastal scents site but it was cheaper on ebay than if I would have bought it from coastal scents. The brush is very cute and I haven't had any problems with shedding. It's true however that this brush isn't dence enough to provide a good coverige with powder foundation. I have found however that it works well as on the go powder brush and for blending blush and contour powder. When I compare it to my other kabuki it is softer. I will not by this product again because I think that if you take good care of your brushes they'll last a lifetime and I think this one will too. I wash and use it regularly and so far it hasn't gone bad on me. I will however duck a few pounts off because it doenst do what a good kabukibrush should and that is give good coverige with powder foundation.

Tools -Shiseido - The Skincare Cleansing Massage Brush
Parodybarbiegirl 2/12/2009 4:46:00 AM
I've never used a facial brush for cleaning before and I must say "Where has this baby been all my life" :-) It's very soft and my skin feels great since I've been using this. I use this together with the foaming cleanser (the one in the pump bottle) from Shiseido. The brush makes the product foam up very well, so you only have to use a small a mount. Since using this I even think my blackheads ( which have allways been there and are in so deep that even getting a profesional facial doesn't help) have lessened. The little stand that comes with it is handy and let the brush dry very evenly. It is expencive and I don't have any other brush to compare it with so I can't tell you if it's to expencive or not. I do however belive that for some make-up bruskes price= quality.

Skincare - Face -Shiseido - Pureness Products
Parodybarbiegirl 2/12/2009 4:22:00 AM
I first bought the cleanser, toner, gel moisturizer and pore minimizing cream. The price is very steep but the products do last you a good while (not the softning balancer you run out of it very quickly) . The packeging is great, you can get every last ounce out with every product. The cleanser gives a squicky clean feel. I do however think that the products are a little to harsh on the skin in winter. Some parts of my T-zone have recently started to feel dry and flacky after cleansing (moisturizer controls that quite good). I've decides 'm either going to get the gentle cleanser from the Shseido The skincare line for winter or the daycream from that line to see if it makes a difference. I loved the products so much that I bought the scrub and the compact foundation. I'm very pleased with those as well. I have found however that if you use the compact foundation as a setting/blotting powder on the T-zone , the shine will ge through. It won't happen if you just use the powder, which gives light to medium covarige. The scrub doesn't warm-up extraordinary but it is the most gentle scrub that I've come across (even thou you use it on dry skin) I don't think the products are good for teenagers. if you are in your twenties they're perfect.
