Treatments -Sally Hansen - Spa Lavender Wax Kit
Paramore 5/27/2012 9:09:00 PM
I did a Brazilian on myself using this wax. Oh lord oh man oh Jesus Christ it hurt. It hurt so badly I cried as I pulled off each strip. However, the pain is not Sally Hansen's fault. The wax heated up quickly, did it's job, and had a semi-pleasant lavender scent. It was $5 at Winners and well worth it.

Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Cortex 1" Flat Iron (Tourmaline Ceramic Plate)
Paramore 5/1/2012 12:02:00 AM
I got this for 39.99 at Winners (the Canadian TJ Maxx, basically) with the normal flat iron and a bonus mini version for travel and small touchups and such. I rarely use the mini version, but it seems to work fine, no issues minus the handle getting a bit too warm during usage. As for the normal flat iron, hot damn, I love it. I don't really have high-maintenance hair to start out with - Asian, thus my hair is naturally straight and sleek and decently shiny - but what this magic straightener does is make it STRAIGHTER and SLEEKER and SHINIER. It's fab, I don't even have to use a shine serum with this, only heat protectant, and my hair comes out glossy and beautiful! It curls my hair excellently as well. A+ iron, especially for the price, get it now instead of spending 100+ for a CHI!

Bronzers -Fyrinnae - Powder Bronzer: Matte Medium
Paramore 1/24/2012 10:34:00 AM
I'm a huge, huge fan of Fyrinnae products, and this bronzer only reinforced that fact. I'm NC30 wit super oily skin, and the first time I opened this bronzer I thought they had sent me the wrong package! In the container the bronzer is a dark, chocolately brown, which I thought would look way obvious and terrible. Boy, was I wrong. Applied with a light hand this is the best damn contour colour I could ask for, and stays on nearly all day. Additionally, since Fyrinnae is so generous with their product sizes (10g for 7$!) and you only need a little bit each time, this little miracle jar will last me ages. Five stars well-deserved. :)

Eyeliner -Sephora - Glitter Eyeliner in Gold
Paramore 1/31/2011 7:02:00 PM
Let me start off by saying that I do not, by any stretch of imagination, have sensitive eyelids. Over my 4 or so years of wearing makeup, my eyes have endured a lot; all sorts of different primers and natural oils and creams and masks, and not once has any product ever made my eyes sting and water like this eyeliner has. I've worn a lot of glitter eyeliners in my lifetime - I'm still young, so I'm going to experiment with as much as I can before I actually need to look "presentable" for job interviews and the like - and none of them have made me cry just by swiping it on the lower lash line. This liner is gorgeous, sparkly and really, really nice when dried, but this stung so badly when I first put it on that I actually did cry. It has great staying power, but in this case I will not choose beauty over pain. I can find better gold glitter liners that don't make me want to rip my eyes out in agony.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Andrea - Brazilian Hard Wax
Paramore 7/19/2010 4:08:00 PM
In 3 words, I can summarize this product: OW OW OWWWWW. I bought this on clearance at Winners for $3, which was awesome because it's a wax, and having smooth legs for two months is even better. I've been waxing my legs since I was 12, so I'm not really a newbie to it. It took a few minutes to heat up properly, another minute to cool down, and then it was ready for applying. This is one of the worst waxes I've ever tried. First, to do the actual waxing part, after it's cooled off on your leg you have to peel off a little at the bottom to get a good grip on it, which hurts like hell. After I pulled the strip off there were still huge chunks of dried wax on my leg! Useless, really.

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow
Paramore 7/16/2010 12:17:00 PM
I have 3 of these, Angelic, Socialite and Seductive. Angelic and Socialite are both really pigmented, show up well even without a primer, etc. However, I find that Seductive doesn't show up at all unless you apply it wet and with primer, in which case it's the blackest black to ever black a black, otherwise it's very chalky and not pigmented. Also, Socialite, compared with my dark olive complexion, is not a good mix; it makes my eyes looks dirty, as most shades like that do. Wonderful colour on other people though. Angelic is wonderful in every way though. I'd definitely repurchase these.

Mascara -Maybelline - Define a lash volume WATERPROOF
Paramore 5/28/2010 7:49:00 PM
I got this for $4 on sale at my local Zellers, and didn't expect to like it as much as I did. First off, the brush is kind of sketch- it's one of those plastic, spiky ones that are bendy and don't seem to pick up much product. This brush picks up a fine amount of product; coated half of my lashes in one sweep. The formula itself is freakin' amazing for holding curl, I use this as a base for my HG Kiss Me Heroine mascara, which sadly doesn't hold curl that well. However, this gives me undereye smudges when I wear it alone! Sad, because I like it a lot, the lengthening and volumizing are nice, but it smudges, smudges, smudges! I don't think I'd buy this again.

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Gotta B' Urban
Paramore 5/17/2010 4:35:00 PM
I just bought the retractable kabuki brush for $10 at Winners, and man, I love it so much. It's the perfect size for applying powder to my face, since it's retractable I can control how flexible/stiff I want the bristles to be (in case I want to use it to apply foundation too), and the packaging is sleek and fits nicely in my pencil case so I can bring it to school. Softest thing ever, too, and haven't experienced any sheeding yet. Love it!

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
Paramore 5/17/2010 12:26:00 AM
Oh my goodness, this product is a miracle worker. I'd been excitedly reading reviews of this powder for a while, and was sad that I couldn't find it anywhere in Canada, but lo and behold, my local Winners had some in stock! I snatched it up immediately, and boy, am I glad I did. My face is an oil slick normally, if I apply powder at 7 I'm shiny all over by 9, but with this stuff I only have to reapply once around 2 to last the entire day! I wore it out tonight for some dinner with my girlfriends, and my makeup stayed firmly in place, and there was little to no shine on my face when we took pictures. Amazing! The one gripe I have is that the puff it comes with is trash, I find it doesn't apply the powder properly. Instead I apply it with my mini Posh powder brush, and out the door I go. Five lippies, will definitely repurchase again and again.

Polishes -Orly - Enchanted Forest
Paramore 5/9/2010 1:46:00 PM
I got this at Winners for CA $0.50 (yes, fifty cents) on clearance, and it's maybe the best $.50 I've ever spent! This colour is gorgeous, smooth, creamy, is opaque after one coat... It's pretty much perfect. My one gripe is that without a top coat it chips after a few days, and leaves a little scuff mark if you happen to drag your nail against something. Also, this dries really, really fast.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Clean Makeup
Paramore 5/9/2010 11:17:00 AM
I got this in the clearance bin at Walmart for around $3; I'm glad I didn't pay more for it! Now, until recently I've been pretty lucky, I've never needed to wear foundation because my face is all the same colour, no suspicious spots, pimples are at the hairline and therefore not noticeable, etc. For reasons unknown, I bought this foundation, just to see what it'd be like, and it broke me out horribly. I only applied some on my cheeks to see if it would increase the staying power of my HG Wet n' Wild Silk Finish blush. Instead, I got this foundation/blush soup concoction melting down my face halfway through third period! Absolutely horrible. Also, this has a kind of funky, spicy smell to it. Thumbs down, never buying this again.

Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Aqua eyes waterproof eyeliner pencil
Paramore 5/8/2010 1:41:00 PM
I have this is 6L, and let me say that this shit is WATERPROOF. I had some on my hand and that little smudge stayed on the entire day, through a shower, multiple hand washings, and a trip to the beach. Amazing, right? I have really oily lids, and this stuck to my waterline for a really generous amount of time. It's super creamy and smooth, so no tugging necessary when applying, either. My one gripe is that you need to sharpen it all the damn time to get a point, with it being so soft and all.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Soho eyeliner pencils
Paramore 5/8/2010 1:38:00 PM
I honestly don't remember, when, where and for how much I got this pencil. It just appeared in the bottom of my makeup bag recently, so I decided to try it. My pencil's in white, and is great for use in the corner of my eyes and such. Smudges a tad by the end of the day, but with oily lids like mine this is to be expected. If I could remember where I bought this I'd give this a higher rating, because now I want to buy more!

Eyeliner -GOSH - Extreme Art Eyeliner
Paramore 5/8/2010 1:35:00 PM
This is waterproof as hell; I've gone surfing in this and it didn't budge at all. I have it in the lightish purple shade, which when applied to the waterline, makes my dark brown eyes stand out like crazy! The only problem I have with it is with the applicator, I feel like it's actually too short, so when I'm applying to the waterline it coats some of my bottoms lashes too, which is annoying as hell. Overall, it's a great alternative to the MAC Liquidlast Liners. I got this at Shoppers for around $10, on sale.

Fragrances -Yves Rocher - Noix de Coco EDT
Paramore 5/8/2010 1:26:00 PM
This is so simple, but delicious, I love it to pieces. As with the other EDTs from Yves Rocher, it lasts forever and smells delectable. I love to wear it layered over the Vanilla Bourbon EDT.
