Lipstick -Jemma Kidd Makeup School - Sheer Vanity Gloss & Glaze - Belle Du Jour
rated 3 of 5

I think this is a good lipstick/gloss hybrid. I bought it because I like the name and color drew me in. It is a pretty natural nude in the tube but it applies like a light nude gloss on the lips. That being said, there are better nude glosses out there and this being in stick form makes it hard to layer. It smells slightly of an orange creamsicle to me. I thought it looked good by itself with a tan and in warmer months. It lasted a good long while too. I would rebuy this item if it wasn't so dang expensive for drugstore.

Lip Gloss -Hard Candy - Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss
rated 5 of 5
Paperbacktripper 3/31/2011 1:47:00 AM

I have never been a huge fan of plumping lipglosses, but this one is alright. I still don't think it plumps but it isn't sticky or have a bad taste. It isn't super thick either. I won't be buy it again just because I didn't love and there are other glosses out there I love. It is very cheap so if you do reach for it, you will only be out 6 bucks.

Lip Gloss -Elizabeth Arden - Fantasy by Britney Spears Suprising Twist Rollerball and Lip Gloss Duo
rated 4 of 5
Paperbacktripper 3/21/2011 7:15:00 PM

I bought this at least 5 years a go at Marshalls so it was cheaper for me. Eventually, it broke apart at the center so I threw away the gloss because I never used it anyway. This is a good scent, it is very sweet and girly. It makes me feel like I smell like candy all day. It reminds me of my Aquolina Pink Sugar Sensual so I don't need to buy this scent again.

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Pink Lemonade
rated 1 of 5
Paperbacktripper 5/21/2010 3:50:00 PM

I don't think this product is worth $1. There is no color and not all that much shine. The packaging leaks and while it does taste good (mint) it isn't strong enough. However, this is a good buy if you want a clicky pen lipgloss case because it is easy to take apart and fill with a different gloss if you don't like the packaging of the different gloss. I tossed it.

Powders -Guerlain - Meteorites powder for the face in Mythic 01
rated 2 of 5
Paperbacktripper 5/21/2010 3:43:00 PM

Even though this is beautifully packaged I couldn't bring myself to love it. It is VERY expensive for poor quality in my opinion. It doesn't highlight, smells floral (AKA bad) and is chalky. I returned it.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Eden
rated 1 of 5
Paperbacktripper 5/21/2010 3:36:00 PM

I wanted to love this so bad. I bought it to conceal the veins and redness on my eyes while priming my lid for eyeshadow so I wouldn't have to use more product on my eyes. It did a good job of concealing but it CREASED! The whole idea of this product is to prevent creasing! I tried using more, using less, putting on eyeshadow while the primer was wet and dry. I tried setting it with a powder and thinning it out with water. I love the original and it never creased and was waterproof which is why I am so disappointed in this product. I returned it and bought Too Faced Shadow Insurance instead because I am afraid that they changed the formula of the original primer potion as well. Might as well buy the cheaper and better package alternative.

Makeup Brushes -Essence of Beauty - Crease
rated 4 of 5
Paperbacktripper 5/5/2010 2:47:00 AM

This set of brushes rock. I use both for placing color in the crease and also in the outer v followed by blending. The smaller one is good for smudging liner and eyeshadow on the lower lash line. They are moderately soft which is just right. They are also just the right amount of denseness. They also don't shed! The only thing I wish is that I wish they were not short handled.

Eye Shadow -MAC - 4 Sweetie Cakes Quad
rated 4 of 5
Paperbacktripper 7/10/2009 8:28:00 PM

The colors in this quad really come to life on my pinky-pale skin. The colors all complement each other very well, especially with the finishes. There seems to be some confusion about the names and finishes in this quad so here is a list and explanation from top left and continuing clockwise. Almond Icing- a frost finish. It is a beautiful opalescent though it looks like dirt in the pan, it reflects blue and pink depending on the light. Also it manly shows up as pink on my skin but that doesn't detract from it's unique beauty. I like to layer it on top of other shadows and the effect is gorgeous. Gateaux which is also a frost. It is pretty frosty without being glittery. Very wearable for day time but not unique. the next color is Sugar Blue, a Veluxe finish which I had never tried before. It is very pigmented light to mid tone blue with blue and white micro sparkles. I think between Sugar blue and Gateaux one needs to be careful not to let the colors look dated and 80's-esque. It applies wonderfully and it has to be my second favorite after almond icing. The last color is Demi-Sweet, a Satin finish. This one is an average mid-tone purple but the blue micro sparkles in it make it very lovely next to Sugar Blue. Overall, I love this quad but I find I want them to be less pigmented when I place them on my lids so I blend them enough to lose some of the color. It ends up looking much more polished and lest costume-y that way. If you are looking at getting depots or wondering about what the best colors are in this quad, I would suggest Almond Icing as a must have. Also I would suggest having both Sugar Blue and Demi-Sweet simply because they belong together.Gateaux is dupe-able and can be skipped. Overall, I love this quad and would repurchase. I subtracted one lippie simply because it isn't simply the single best. I save my 5 lippie reviews for extraordinary products.

Scrubs -Got 2 Be - Sugar Kick Body Scrub
rated 1 of 5
Paperbacktripper 6/16/2009 6:54:00 PM

I loathe this body scrub. It has no exfoliating factor, it has no cleaning power and it smells way to sweet for my taste! I prefer large granules in scrubs and I being able to wash off the product in the shower is must too! This stuff was like glue that wouldn't come off no matter how hard I tried. I think this might be the single worst beauty product I have ever bought that includes all hair, makeup, skin and bath products. I bought this almost a year ago and it has done nothing but sit under my sink! You have been warned.

Lipstick -NYX - Celene
rated 3 of 5
Paperbacktripper 6/10/2009 12:43:00 AM

I only recently realized that I have a pink undertone to my skin so this pure, light gold lipstick makes me look kinda dead. I only use this for layering purposes. It is really moisturizing and creamy like the other NYX round lipsticks.

Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Quench Mousse
rated 4 of 5
Paperbacktripper 6/9/2009 11:37:00 PM

I was sucked into the idea of a "different" kind of lotion and grabbed this at Albertsons for 7 bucks. It is a really fun lotion to apply and I liked all the weird looks I got at the gym because it looked like I was spreading hair moose on my legs (I like attention like that)! I really like the fragrance, I would describe it as a sweet floral. The foam sticks to the skin so I like that because I can apply a bit on all my limbs and then close up the bottle and then work the product in (it is what I like to to with all body lotions). The foam almost seams to turn into a liquid due to body heat when you start to rub it in and that liquid get absorbed very quickly into the skin, so much so that it won't transfer to clothing like every other lotion I have used. This is probably my favorite feature of this lotion. I don't think this product is the most hydrating lotion on the market so I won't be using it in the morning or at night after I shower/shave, I like to apply a heavy body butter/ cream for those times. I see it more as something I can carry around without any hassle and apply it as much as I want. I honestly don't know how I feel about the shimmer. Yes, it does seem a little juvenile but on the other hand it isn't all that noticeable on my NW20 skin and I like a little dewy look on my arms and legs during the summer and the shimmer gives that kind of effect. I think it does look crazy on my hands and I wouldn't recommend using this product on ones hands anyway. As far as how long the hydration lasts, I would say not all day like the package claims, but at least 8 hours in dry places (I am in Northern Utah). Also, be sure to heed the warning about how a little goes a long way because your skin will be sticky if you use to much. I will for sure buy this again and perhaps try other product from the quench line.
