This scent reminds me of Skintimates shave gel in the pink can. It transported me back to the days of the transitioning from being a girl to a young woman. It is a soft powdery floral (rose and jasmine) with ripe peach and a hint of sandalwood to give it the warmth from the end of Summer. I'm not usually fond of anything with a considerable amount of powder, but this is subtle enough to just be lovely. This doesn't have the "aldehyde" mature scent. I think a young lady could wear it if she's comfortable and confidant in herself. It's THAT kind of "mature".

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Let It Shine
rated 4 of 5

This conditioner is ok on it's own, but great with the matching shampoo. Instead of keeping to the ends, I put it everywhere except maybe 2 inches of root. It made my hair really nice and soft ( no tangles ), but didn't weigh it down at all ( I have fine straight hair that is oily at the scalp and dry at the ends ). As I said in the shampoo review, I won't be using this combo everyday ( it'll probably be too cleansing / drying ), maybe only twice a week. Pleasantly surprised!

Shampoo -Bumble & Bumble - Let It Shine

When I first tried this, I didn't like it. However, the trick to this is that you have to use it with the conditioner that goes with it. If I use this on it's own it makes my hair feel dry, almost straw-like. When I use it with the "Let it Shine" conditioner my hair feel super clean and super soft, just like when I come out of the salon. I probably wouldn't use this everyday ( probably too cleansing / drying ). I would use it only 2 or so times per week ( I have straight fine hair that is oily at the scalp and dry at the ends ). Added bonus, it has a lovely scent, citrus with a light floral. Overall, surprisingly pleased.

Treatments (Eye) -Amore Pacific - Rejuvenating Eye Treatment Gel
rated 1 of 5
Paintedlily62 5/1/2013 11:27:00 PM

I received a sample of this from Sephora and it was crap. It had a light gel consistency and the pleasantries ended there. It smelled heavily perfumed powder and florals that irritated my eyes and didn't dissipate with wear. Over the 3 days of use it managed to dry out my skin. It is appalling that this has a price tag of $85. I will never purchase this. Fails all around.

Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Zuzu Luxe - Thickening Mascara
rated 4 of 5
Paintedlily62 4/28/2013 1:36:00 AM

I always come back to this. Face value, this mascara doesn't seem that special. It does a good basic job for thickening and lengthening (not dramatic, mostly natural). It does flake a little, but I only clean it up 1 MAYBE 2 times per 10-15 hour day and it's usually pretty minimal. If you go by those things then $16 for a mascara hardly seems worth it. The reason I come back to this is that it nourishes my lashes when other mascaras have caused sparseness and trauma. The little bald areas grow back nicely and lashes feel a little softer than before I used the mascara. I admit, I have been a bit of a product junkie just because I'm curious. When all goes awry, I turn back to this to get things back to a healthy order. It's not over the top, but I love it.

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Oil Free
rated 3 of 5
Paintedlily62 4/28/2013 1:21:00 AM

Unfortunately, not really worth the price. It's a good basic tinted moisturizer, but I feel like I've seen some drugstore brands that do just as good of a job. The color is good and didn't oxidize on me. However, it gives you that very shiny "sunblock" look, feels tacky/gloopy on the skin and calls out dry patches....screams them at you, really. This was my go-to for a while because I thought this was the best there was to offer, disappointing as that seemed. Thankfully, that isn't true. I like Nars' SPF 30 tinted moisturizer much better. Costs about the same, but performs far better.

Tinted Moisturizer -NARS - Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
Paintedlily62 4/28/2013 1:11:00 AM

Warm weather is upon us and I wanted something to replace my overly greasy Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer. This is amazing! I have dry combination (t-zone) skin with hormonal red areas and a few acne scars on my chin. This evens out the redness and doesn't call unwanted attention to my dry skin bits. It doesn't cover acne scars, but a touch of concealer did the job just fine. No scent is a plus. The color selection isn't impressive, but I'm incredibly pale and was able to buff "Finland" out to suit me just fine and not oxidation problems. It's pricy, but for this kind of performance...it's worth it.

Treatments -Ojon - Restorative Hair Treatment
rated 3 of 5
Paintedlily62 4/28/2013 12:58:00 AM

Besides the smell and ingredients, this is pretty decent. It smells of bitter cocoa, tobacco and thick smoke. It's ok, but it kinda tip-toes into ashtray land. I quit smoking, so I'm not in a hurry to smell like that again. Thankfully, it goes away after you wash it out. I saturated my hair, combed the oil through and hit it with a bit of warmth from my blow dryer. When I went to wash my hair I put shampoo in BEFORE I rinsed my hair to break up the oil ( learned that using olive oil for my hair ). I washed my hair twice and put in a conditioner as normal. I did notice a bit more fall out, but this is only my 1st time using it. If i lose a lot consistently I will update. My hair felt softer, looked shinier and was easier to style. My package says that the ingredients are mostly palm oil and rosemary....I'm not sure if that justifies the cost since I can get an 8oz jar of palm for $12 and rosemary for $5. I might purchase this again, but probably not regularly. 1 weird thing: the little cap that came with it to give extra protection to the product after opening did not fit.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - 522
rated 4 of 5
Paintedlily62 3/22/2013 9:01:00 PM

This is for 522A. It is a dark berry / wine color. Incredible color payoff! I sheer it down with a lip balm to make it more of a stain. Lovely color year round, day or night...full strength for drama to sheered down for a pretty stain. Nice creamy formula. The packaging isn't fancy or anything (obviously...it's 99 cents), but the little catch that keeps the lid on seems pretty secure and that's the best I could ask for! Overall, really good formula for a wonderful price!

Paintedlily62 3/21/2013 11:15:00 PM

Nice creamy formula (mine is LCL-04 Beautifully Buff, very pretty neutral nude pink), decent color payoff and cute packaging. Overall a really nice lipstick...when they come out with a larger color selection I will purchase more.

Mascara -Prestige - My Biggest Lashes
rated 3 of 5
Paintedlily62 3/21/2013 9:56:00 PM

This product doesn't wow me, but it's decent. The formulation is a little on the dry side so it had a bit of trouble grabbing onto my lashes. However, after that first coat was down it deposited nicely. The bristles of the brush didn't seem to add anything to the whole package. The package is a pretty color...it is a cheap feeling plastic though. That's ok, it's a drugstore brand. Bonus: they do NOT test on animals. :)

Skincare - Body -L'Occitane - Verbena Body Lotion
rated 4 of 5
Paintedlily62 3/19/2013 11:13:00 PM

Lovely lemon verbena scent and incredibly moisturizing. I don't always have time to use this as an all over body lotion so I usually use this on my hands after most washings. My hands can get SUPER dry from bagging groceries and this took away all my little dry patches within a couple of days. It's around $25 for 8.4 ounces, so it's pretty pricey. However, it's actually worth it considering I'd be spending time trying a bunch of different lotions that don't work and / or smell as nice. Love it!

Colors were nice, packaging was ok.....smelled strongly of heated plastic and that smell didn't go away. Had to return them.

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
Paintedlily62 2/7/2013 10:14:00 PM

This has a slippery texture with a lemony-sugar scent. Keeps lips moisturized fairly decently. I love the packaging! You have to unscrew it out of the metal tube before you can use it...this keeps it from twisting itself up and mashing into the lid while traveling around in my pocket. Genius!

Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Smooth Away hair removing pads
rated 3 of 5
Paintedlily62 1/31/2013 6:29:00 PM

I ended up liking these, but not for their intended purpose. They didn't do very well at removing hair...I always had a few strays (on my legs, never tried it anywhere else). However, I liked it for exfoliating right before I stepped into the shower. My skin is pretty dry and this made it super smooth. I buffed in circles (a few times in one direction and then a few times in the other direction....otherwise you could really irritate your skin). Even though I liked them, I probably wouldn't buy them again. It seems like it's just super fine grit sandpaper and I don't want to keep throwing trash away.
