Lipstick -Chantecaille - Lip chic Nocturne
rated 5 of 5

I love this lip formula. It is smooth, moisturizing, with the perfect amount of shine and a bit of sweet scent. Nocturne is part of the holiday 2012 collection. Although the chip on the website shows a dark looking color, it is actually a beautiful pink , a fuschia pink. It lights upthe face without being too bright or garish (like the last time I bought a fuchsia pink lip) I think it is a LE like their beautiful Sunrise lip chic. I highly recommend it and plan on buying an extra, it is that beautiful.

Moisturizers -Renee Rouleau - Hawaiian Nourishing Cream

I just finished my first jar, and though expensive, the jar did last many months. I have tried several others including Kate S and BB and LM, but I keep coming back to this one. It doesnt have peptides or sunscreen or BHAs , but it is rich and creamy and very soothing to my skin. It has never made it break out, and the scent-- lavender I think-- is not overpowering. I just wish RR had more discount events online, so that I may stock up on it, and some of her other products.

Lipstick -Chantecaille - Lip Chic: Sunrise
rated 5 of 5

I usually am a mauve kind of girl, but decided to try this because it seems to be THE color of the season (along with orange and lime)This really is the right way to do coral. It really brightens your face without looking garish. The formula is balmy and moisturizing-- and love the vanilla scent. I plan on picking up a backup since it is LE-- but they seem to be backordered all over the internet. I can see why! The shade was inspired by the "sunrise" rose, and I picture it whenever I apply! So perfect!

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Gel lip color
rated 2 of 5
PJBX 3/10/2012 10:56:00 AM

I usually run out and buy as soon as it hits the shelves, because LM is one of my favorite brands. But I like a little shimmer in my lipstick, and these are all about pure vibrant color without shimmer, so a waited a while to purchase. I had just tried my first chantecaille lip chic (amaryllis--vibrant, also no shimmer-- and I love it!) and I read that LM gel lipcolor had the same vanilla scent and shine, so I bought it-- in rosette. I was a bit disappointed. Although the color is bright, it doesnt seem as rich. It feels lighter on the lips than lip chic, but not nearly as moisturizing. The scent (and taste) is not vanilla bean like chantecaile is. LM is more like vanilla- scented cardboard. My next lip purchase will definitely be lip chic in another color--- or two-- maybe even three.

Lipstick -Chantecaille - Lip Chic

This is my first Chantecaille purchase. Ive been eyeing swatches for awhile, and upon suggestion from SA, purchased the amaryllis shade. She said it was pink with a bit of coral I think its more red/ coral. Anyway, I usually tend to stick to mauves and plums, so the red took a bit of getting used to (a couple days) It is brighter than what I usually wear but is my new favorite! I love the control of a stick, with the shine of a gloss. It has a heavier balmy feeling on lips,More mosturizing feel than my usual BB creamy or Chanel coco shine , as well as longer lasting, leaving some stain behind (after an afternoon of talking and sipping ).Love the subtle vanilla scent. The only con that I have is that is is expensive for its size. But Ill definitely buy it again in a couple more shades!

Moisturizers -Bobbi Brown - Extra SPF 25 Moisturizing Balm
rated 3 of 5

I love BB products, and the SPF 25 and peptides in this product piqued my interest. Ive been using this as a night cream and a base under skin foundation daily for 1 week. My pros thus far: my skin definitely feels softer and dewy, It absorbs quickly and leaves skin moist but never greasy.I feel great about being compliant with essential sun protection. Cons: I do not like the strong, chemical-type scent,( maybe thats from the sunscreen? ) For the price, I wish it had a jar design like K Somerville tissue repair, which dispenses measured doses of product cleanly, instead of dipping fingers in jar for every use. I will definitely use the rest of this jar- too expensive to waste!. I do prefer BB gel cream moisturizer for daytime. Cheaper, Its very light, mild scent, greasless, but unfortunately has no sunsreen protection or peptides.

BB Cream -Estee Lauder - Daywear BB Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Creme SPF 35
rated 3 of 5
PJBX 1/22/2012 4:06:00 PM

Ive been using this for about one week now. My pros: Its thick, but blends well, I love the cucumber scent (same as daywear moisturizer),IA little bit goes a long way and I feel like Im doing something great for my skin by wearing in (antioxidants and SPF benefits). My Cons: expensive for small tube, feels a bit heavy , I think I might have to purchase both shades and blend because light is too light so it can look masky if not applied sparingly.

Eyeliner -Yves Saint Laurent - Eye Pencil in Shimmering Burgundy

I must disagree with previous reviewers. This was my first purchase from this brand. I bought because of color swatches I saw on a makeup blog.I am pleased with it . I love the plummy raisin color. I find the texture to be creamy and application smooth without any dragging of delicate eyelid skin. It looks like velvet on the eyelid. And I find it to wear better than any other eye pencil I own . Love it so much, Im puchased the ultramarine color as well, and its equally beautiful. Am going back for the green one..

Polishes -Chanel - Le Vernis LE-- Graphite
rated 5 of 5
PJBX 8/27/2011 10:41:00 AM

Chanel is genius to create unique color variations! That being said, Im so glad they only come out with a couple of them per collection-- $25 per bottle is quite steep! When I purchased graphite, I noticed that when I put the bottle next to their "black pearl" polish, the shades looked similar. But Graphite is quite different on. It is a light reflective charcoal, metallic with some glitter to give it depth! My favorite thing about it is that two coats apply seamlessly and it looks flawless every time without much effort, which is perfect for me because Im always in a hurry when I apply polish and see the streaks and imperfections later, when Im out in public. I highly recommend adding this to your polish collection, you will not regret it!

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Illusion d'Ombre
rated 4 of 5

I bought the Illusoire ( charcoal/plum) and epatant(silvery green) I love the souffle texture which is best applied with your fingers. It is creamy, yet sets quickly. They are both very shimmery. The staying power is not great. Wanted to love the green, but it looks too light and frosty for me. The plum is more smoky and sultry, and as dark a shade as Im willing to wear.

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Caviar Stick Eye Colour
rated 5 of 5
PJBX 8/21/2011 3:36:00 PM

I bought the amethyst and khaki colors . I love them. The formula goes on smoothly with no dragging on the delicate skin on your eyelids.. It blends easily, but then "sets" and becomes quite budgeproof. The packaging is convenient to slip in your makeup pouch, although you probably will not need to touch up. Its not messy as with powders or creams, and blends with a brush or fingers. The color palette seems to be geared to create a smoky eye.

Cleansers -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Argan Cleansing Oil
rated 3 of 5
PJBX 6/1/2011 1:06:00 AM

Have been using for about 2 wks at night only. My skin is normal/ slightly dry. This actually makes my skin feel tight and drier. And no matter how tightly I close my mouth during the rinse off, I always seem to taste some, and it it the most bitter taste Ive ever experienced. So this is not a winner for me.

Polishes -China Glaze - Ingrid
rated 4 of 5

China Glaze has replaced Essie as my fave polish brand. Its quality stuff, not as pricey and I love their cool collections such as Ingrid from the Vintage Vixen collection.Im still waiting for this to come in at Ulta, but it seems Sally Beauty has had it since July! I never thought i was daring enough to wear "greige" but its bronzy/gold shimmer made me an instant fan! It is fall fabulous!

Cleansers -Kate Somerville - Gentle Daily Wash
rated 5 of 5
PJBX 1/21/2008 4:44:00 PM

I have been using this for 1 month so far, and I love it.I consider my skin to be very sensitive and a bit dry. By using this, folowed by KS Quench product twice a day, my skin has never felt softer ( and I am in my mid 40's). A pearl sized bit of cleanser is all you need. I love how it makes my skin look and feel, and its scent of lavender is very pleasing too! Pricey ? Maybe, but well worth it!
