Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Zeno
NuttyPoo 11/16/2009 8:23:00 PM
I bought this over a year or two ago on sale. I had heard about it before purchasing but never read reviews. So I read what the box said & expected a little less. They met my expectations. For the price, I expected it to hurt (nothing is painless) & to cause redness. Well, it is supposed to heat up & kill the bacteria. I'm pretty sure the bacteria was zapped dead but what about the left over "plug"!? I know disgusting, but I tried it on a stubborn pimple on the verge of arising. When I used the Zeno, it surfaced & I could "pop" it with my fingers & tissue of course. I didn't get much scarring from popping the pimples doing this.. if anything Zeno quickened the progress so my face wasn't always bumpy. I occassionally see some forming pimples disappear after using the Zeno but they come back, same spot & size. I don't know where the "plug" would end up even if the Zeno could make the pimples go away. Anyway, definitely do not use the Zeno before going out... you'll have a red mark on your face for an hour or so. Do not buy this if you're content with steaming your pores weekly. You have to buy refills for this so it's expensive even for a miracle worker. Ye olde days, people would use pins & candles to "burn" pimples away. As in, put the pin over the candle flame.. get it hot & carefully burn the bacteria in the pimple away! Dangerous, so this is a little better but at what price?

Cleansers -Clinique - Rinse-off foaming cleanser
NuttyPoo 11/16/2009 8:02:00 PM
A little goes a long way.... ESPECIALLY for Clinique's Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser. The more you use, the more you will end up drying your face make it sensitive & stingy. Uh ladies, you do NOT use a facial cleanser to remove eye make-up & if you do, use an actual make up remover before cleansing your face. This cleanser leaves my skin very fresh & clean after using it without any left over residue. I notice that if I use too much, my toner will sting my face a bit after or burn. This is a very strong cleanser that produces a very rich & thick foamy lather. I love that but that also makes me want to use more product the create even more lather... obsessive, I know! Always leave your cleanser on for a good 30 seconds before rinsing it off to break up the make up on your face. This cleanser will do that effortlessly. And just in case of stripping too much oils/mositure from your face, use your toner while your face is still damp from the rinse. While your toner is drying, apply your moisturizer on. The toner/water will make your lotion/cream spread more easily & you will use less cream/lotion. Your skin should feel fresh, clean & moisturized after. I've been doing this & using the Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser for the past 4 years & my skin has never reacted bad to it.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Black
NuttyPoo 11/9/2009 10:47:00 PM
I bought this over a month ago & I really wish I could love this. This creme liner isn't terrible but I rather my Clinique cream liner :( This eyeliner is super creamy & applies effortlessly with my EcoTools Eyeliner brush. I do not reccommend using the brush it comes with. For the price.. it is more worth it than the L'Oreal HIP cream eyeliner. Unfortunately... this does smudge on my eyes even when it has completely dried. Although if I purposely rub my eyes.. it doesn't smudge (?). The eyeliner smudges on my eyeline fold... I don't know if many people get that but it happens to me all the time with pencils & liquid eyeliners. I reccommend this to beginners who want to try cream eyeliners. It definitely is affordable & accessible.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner
NuttyPoo 11/9/2009 10:41:00 PM
I bought this because I read really good reviews on it but... Not fond of this what so ever. A recent reviewer said that if you got it on your lashes.. it would be impossible to get off. True! This is really H20 Proof. No soap, shampoo, water, oil/oil-free make up remover can get this stuff off. You have to work QUICK. You need a steady & precise hand to use this. The felt tip is a little too thick so don't expect thin lines. I have the worst hand/eye coordination soo.. I can't use this. Once it dries... you're doomed. You have to wait for it to come off by itself! If you try to "clean" your line & get some of the eyeliner on more area.. ugh even worse. I don't use this ever. I wish I could because the formula is long lasting (LOL)!

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Megaliner Liquid Eyeliner- Turquoise
NuttyPoo 11/9/2009 10:36:00 PM
I bought this over 4 years ago... along with the purple one. I've tried using it for fun & what not but I would never use this on a daily basis. I love the colour, it's super fun. I just got the Urban Decay Liquid Liner & the formulas are pretty much the same! Different price is all... I think for a drugstore liquid eyeliner (in a brighter colour) it is very good. I rather felt tip brushes but this formula wouldn't work with felt. I like it! Doesn't smudge unless you have oily lids (use a primer!) & no flaking or cracking. Lasts really long :)

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic in Carbon Black
NuttyPoo 11/9/2009 10:28:00 PM
I swear I wrote a review for this... mm whatever :P I got this mascara for free with my L'Oreal hair dye last month. I love the hair dye... just not the mascara! The brush is really weird (o_o), there is only 4 sides of bristles(?) which are short & collect formula on the sides of the bristles and not in between... I don't know if that makes sense but if you have one on hand you'll understand. I don't get anything but CLUMPS. You really do have to work quick if want zero clumps... Even then I only get spider-y long lashes but that could differ for other people. I don't think you could ever achieve volume with this mascara because the bristles are so close together that you only ever get clumps. Really, I think if you just saw the brush itself you might understand! I would not reccommend this to anyone but L'Oreal Voluminous on the other hand... yes!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Foundation Brush
NuttyPoo 11/9/2009 3:44:00 AM
I feel bad for the last two reviewers because I think this foundation brush is terrific! I have three of these & none of them have shedded a single hair. I use mine in rotation so I always have a clean one to use & one that is drying for the next day. Before I bought my first one, I was using a sponge to apply my liquid foundation & Sephora's Anti-bacterial foundation brush (or something like that). Anyhow, I bought my last two for $1.99 at Superstore & my first one for $6-8 at London Drugs. I thought it was a major steal for the foundation brush at both times of the purchase but Superstore changed the price to $7 recently... No idea why. The second two brushes are a little different from my first one. All the brushes are very soft but the first one I bought is tighter & can sometimes leave my foundation streaky. However, the second two that I bought are a bit fluffier(?). No streaks with them though! I love EcoTools<3 It is definitely cheaper to buy their brushes in sets than individually. I don't think you can buy the foundation brush in any of their sets though but it definitely is affordable and worth it :)

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Liquid Liner in Gash
NuttyPoo 11/3/2009 7:29:00 PM
I bought mine for $5 at Winners. I would be a fool to buy this colour for full price. I can't really use it as I'm not the type to go "different" with my neutral make up. My good friend has always wanted a red eyeliner (God knows why) & we found two of them. We both bought it... she loved it but I think she's aiming for a bright red. This is kind of burgundy-like & metallic. I also bought this in Lucky which is an orange metallic with hints of burgundy. I'm really annoyed with the tube thing & applicator. I hate that when I pull out the brush, it will hit the sides and dirty the screw cap. The brush isn't thin or fine but when you apply it... the brush will go flat? I'm used to thinner lines & this brush gives me thicker. If I get use to the brush, maybe I'll enjoy this better. I have no idea when I would use this but not bad for $5. I wouldn't buy it for full price though... this was just for fun.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner - Spandex
NuttyPoo 11/3/2009 7:24:00 PM
I got this in a gift set & I'm quite fond of it. Frankly, I won't be using this any time soon but... I've never kept a glitter eyeliner I've been given or bought. I kept this because the colour is just to dieee for. I love it! A pretty blue... kind of electric & super fun<3 I wear it ontop of black eyeliner. I find if I try to mix it up with a green or purple... it'll clash :Anyone notice how glitter eyeliners have a glue-y smell? I can't really describe the smell but if you're a collecter of G/E's... you might understand what I mean. I'm not a fan of glitter eyeliners but I've kept mine so far!

Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Mild
NuttyPoo 11/3/2009 7:13:00 PM
I can see why some people would give this a low rating but I think it's pretty great. I wouldn't buy it again but that's only because I want to try so many other brands before I can seriously say I'll be going back to this anytime soon. I feel as if all Clinique facial care products are 50/50. All of the toners I have tried by Clinique are very heavy in alcohol or atleast the smell. I think it's the same with this facial soap. I can't tell what is in this cleanser but there is definitely a strong astrigent in it. My skin feels cleaner, tighter & looks clearer after I was my face with this cleanser. Sometimes if I overwash, my skin can get so tight that I have fine lines & dry in places. This is no surprise but it IS very strong cleanser. You don't need more than a drop of the product to create sufficient lather and foam. I don't get any pimples from using this either. I know there is no helping for the acne no for my forehead but I do wish this facial soap could help fix that or lessen it atleast. I'm always touching my face so there is no helping with oil control... I am to blame for that! I think if I quit my bad habit, I wouldn't be such a grease ball :( *** If Clinique facial care products are TOO strong for your skin, maybe skip this. Or, ask a MA to give you a sample of this & test it out :)

Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Quench Body Lotion-normal to dry skin
NuttyPoo 11/3/2009 6:56:00 PM
I only used this for a short period of time when I was 13 (over 5 years ago). I still have half the bottle left from then... I haven't touched it since then. I'm the type of person who tends to switch lotions often also. I intially liked it but I switched to Jergens because it smelled like detergent (I like that scent more). It did moisturize very well but I'm not fond of the scent. Honestly... I still have the pump bottle it came in & half the product in it. I don't use it & since it's half a decade old, I should throw it away. I feel so bad if I do that but I figure I can use it for D.I.Y. mani/pedi's. If it weren't for my issue with scents/aromas... I'd definitely stick to this lotion :)

Misc Beauty Tools -Tweezerman - tweezers
NuttyPoo 10/29/2009 10:21:00 PM
I would definitely repurchase this but I doubt I'll ever have to! I bought a travel size version of the Tweezer man for $10 at Nordstrom Rack about a year ago & it is still as sharp as when I bought it. It certainly is dirt cheap considering you never have to repurchase it! And if it ever does need a good sharpening, you can send it to the company & they do it for free. Honestly, it doesn't get any better than this. You can buy $1 slant tweezers & knock-offs of all sorts but they will never last as long as Tweezerman. My mom regrets not getting one for herself, she has never used such an amazing tweezer. Great for beginners/amateurs/professionals... you name it! This saves me a lot of money & trouble from having to thread my eyebrows so often. Did I mention this is pretty much painless unless you pinch actual skin (on accident)? GAAAH I love this tweezer so much :(

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Lip Venom
NuttyPoo 10/29/2009 9:38:00 PM
I think for a tiny tube of this is $16 or $22... something like that. When I say tiny I mean TINY. It's probably the size of my thumb but not as wide. Wait, it's the size of my pinky. Think of the length from your "Tab" key to the end of your "W" key on the keyboard. Yeah... there, that's the size of this. FOR $16!?! I got mine on "sale" for $12, hurrah. Does it help if I said I hate it? I loathe the scent of super fake candy & the ultra sweet TASTE of this lip gloss. Doesn't really plump & is excruciatingly stick. A little better than Soap & Glory's Sexy Motherpucker in taste/scent/stickyness but in the price department.. ugh. Really tingles for a long time... I think with all lip plumpers, it's the gloss that adds volume to the lips. No lip plumper I have ever used actually plumped up my lip. I get fat lips from eating chili sauce too! So I don't understand why this lip plumper full of irritants wouldn't work it's magic on my lips. Oh & the applicator is way too stiff but I think it's because the gloss is so thick.

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
NuttyPoo 10/29/2009 9:33:00 PM
I recently bought a $76 Lancome cream for my mom & got a GWP goodie bag that contained this. I am so angry at myself because I managed to spill HALF the bottle onto my table! I liked this stuff too! And I definitely got a whiff of it & the remover has a light scent which is pleasant. If you look at the bottle, you can see the separation of oil & water. It definitely isn't oily though! I don't know how I could make this sound good/better but it leaves a nice hydrating film/residue ontop of where you used the product. I like that but I guess some could do without it. I don't usually like using oil based eye makeup removers either so this rather odd. I don't know what the price is for this but I assume it is VERY expensive. Between using what's left of my GWP & Bliss Lid+Lash wash... I may repurchase after.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
NuttyPoo 10/29/2009 8:22:00 PM
My mom received a full tube of this from a friend as a gift. Initially the scent of the shea butter reminds me of old ladies... kind of like the ones my grandma plays mah jong with. I'm not saying old ladies/grandma's smell bad but they have this old fashion-y smell which you could never forget. I'd like it if my grandma smelled more of this hand gream than Glysomed or Mary Kay's Satin Hands... ugh that scent is HORRIBLE (both!). So onto the actual product review! I hate the tube because it isn't very practical unlike the conventional plastic tubes. The cap is annoying because once some of the cream ends up IN the cap.. the cap part is crusty and icky. Does anyone get what I mean? Point: Flip caps/tops are best! If you're not interested in REAL shea butter then you won't like this (obviously.) This is 20% shea butter & so is the smell. Kind of like smelling a baby but less like baby powder. I like the smell. I definitely feel the thickness of the cream. Way richer than a body butter! For those who say this DOESN'T moisturize.. you must be dried to the bone! My cuticles are healthier, I get less calluses & I can wash the dishes without gloves! Oh, of course when you first apply this to your hands it'll feel a little tacky/sticky but.. did I not mention it's 20% shea butter & extremely rich? Once it settles into your skin (don't play around with liquids/metals while you wait)... your hands will be smooth & hydrated. I can't really say much else. It's not expensive considering you get a big tube & you only need so little product. SERIOUSLY 20% shea butter!! You only get like 2% in regular soaps and drugstore lotions!
