Liquid -Chanel - Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup SPF 15
November185 11/13/2011 1:48:00 PM
This is my go to foundation for colder weather. Normally, I wear studio fix fluid or estee lauder double wear, but this foundation is not as drying as the ones I usually wear. My favorite thing about this foundation is the color match. As a black woman, I have a really difficult time finding a perfect match, but I have finally found one in this foundation. My shade in this is Cedar. Ladies who feel like they rarely have a match-especially in MAC foundations, please get a sample of this color. In MAC, I feel like I am between an NC45 and an NC50. I can never get a perfect match in any foundation. But this one is spot on. The cons to this foundation are the cost-it is crazy expensive. And, it doesn't last as long as double wear. But, the finish is so luminous and so natural, that I don't mind. For ladies with bad skin, but still want natural looking skin with a good amount of coverage-this may be the foundation for you if you can find a color match.
Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Impressive
November185 11/13/2011 1:42:00 PM
This is my HG lipstick. The shade is absolutely perfect for me. It's a rosy brown color. I am NC45, and I have struggled to find a decent "nude" lipstick for my skin tone. My lips are large and extremely dry, so finding lipsticks that aren't too bold and won't show every flaw on my lips is very difficult. However, this lipstick is creamy, has decent lasting power, and makes my lips look so nice and juicy. It looks great with any eye look and with any blush. I can apply it in the dark. I will repurchase this as long as it's available.
Loose Powders -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Loose Powder

I haven't done a review in a while, but I had to write one for this product! It is truly amazing! I have the most oily skin in the world, and I have tried so many different foundations and powders, only to have to blot, use oil mattifiers, etc. in less than four hours. When I put on this powder, I don't blot for the whole day. I do get some shine after eight hours, but it registers as that gorgeous "dewy" look. This product is translucent. I was skeptical because I have dark skin and this powder is stark white, but using a light hand, this powder will be invisible on the skin. I pour a small amount of powder into the lid, then use a fluffy powder brush to pick it up. I shake off the excess, then firmly press the powder all over my face. This gives a soft focus, non-powdery look that is really good for me, as I have terrible skin texture and pores. If you have problems with a powdery look with this product, I highly recommend using Urban Decay's All Nighter Spray to take some of that away. The only con I have about this product is the price, but for beautiful looking skin, I think it's worth it. Plus, you can get a small size that will last a long time for $15 at Sephora.
My main problem with this concealer is the lack of shades. There is only one shade that is suitable for black women! It's crazy because black skin has such a variety tones, and just one shade isn't going to cut it. I do like the way the product blends, and it doesn't settle into my fine lines (I'm 24, but there are visible fine lines under my eyes in my kindergarten pictures). But, it is just too dark for me, and the next lighter is ridiculously light.
Blush -Black Radiance - Soft Honey ] [DISCONTINUED]

I do like this blush. It's really good for a neutral/nude face. Very muted and understated. It warms up the face. But, for some reason, unlike the other Black Radiance blushes, this one disappears on me during the day. In addition, the packaging is ridiculously flimsy. I secured it in a fairly large makeup bag to travel, handled it very carefully, but it shattered. Now I can't take it anywhere. But other than those things, I recommend this blush.
I think this product did work for me. I have severe hyperpigmentation, and my dark spots were lightened. But, I had a terrible breakout from this. At first, I didn't think it was causing it, but as soon as I stopped using this, my skin began to clear. For me, the effects of this product just aren't worth it. I would rather have clear skin and hyperpigmentation, than even-toned skin with breakouts.
Lip Gloss -Milani - Crystal Gloss for Lips in Whisper
November185 5/27/2010 9:51:00 AM
I really like this gloss. It's sheer, but it gives just enough of a hint of color. As I am fairly dark, I rarely wear lippies that are this color, but the crystal glosses look so natural and seem to be universal. I recommend this gloss for when you want to do a natural look or when you want to play up other features.
This foundation has taken the place of my Studio Fix Fluid! I love it! It is the only foundation that has looked good in direct sunlight. For me, this is huge-I would do my makeup and look good in my bathroom mirror, but when I would go outside, the color match and texture would be completely off. With this foundation, I look good in and outdoors. In this foundation I wear 6W1-rich ginger which is perfect; in SFF I wore NC50 because the NC45 seemed too light, but the color is way too dark on me. I just don't have a match in MAC. I also have the oiliest skin in the world-even SFF would melt off me within 3 hours. With this foundation, I don't blot once. I go to work at 8:30am and when I take my makeup off at 10pm it is still flawless. The only cons I have about this foundation are that it doesn't blend the best (I find it goes on best with fingers) and it is expensive for me.
Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil - brown
November185 5/27/2010 9:40:00 AM
This is my go-to daily liner for my bottom water line. It looks very natural-it makes my bottom lashes look like they exist (mine are the tiniest ever!) and it defines my big eyes.
Eyeliner -Milani - Infinite Liquid Eye Liner - 01 Infinite (blue)
November185 5/27/2010 9:38:00 AM
This is a fab liquid liner. It's extremely easy to use, hard to make mistakes with. The color is just wow! I think it would look great on the darkest skin tones to the lightest. I think it is especially good for brown eyes-it makes my eyes look a completely different shade than normal. Also it has great staying power-even with eye makeup remover you will have a hard time getting this off. But, this isn't good if you do happen to make a mistake. But, I highly recommend this.
I use this to line my upper waterline and it does not budge! I've tried so many products on my waterline and they either disappear or end up giving me raccoon eyes. This is definitely an HG for my water line, but I don't like it on the lid itself-it doesn't go on smoothly and it's a bit too matte.
This is my HG blush. I'm about a NC45 in mac, and this blush looks so natural. I gives a beautiful flush, I don't have to wear any eye products at all and it just brightens up my whole face. The only downside to this blush is that it isn't "sheer". I can only tap my brush in the product one time to get color, otherwise I will look like a clown since it is so pigmented. But, I highly recommend this for medium to dark women.
This is the best concealer I have ever used. I have the works-dark circles under my eyes and severe hyperpigmentation (some of my spots are actually black), and this concealer covers them completely. I've noticed that some people have complained about this product creasing when used under the eyes-and it did on me at first. But, my secret is using Equate Advanced Firming Day/Night Cream before applying the concealer. I place a small amount under my eyes, let it sit for about 5 minutes, then I apply the concealer. I have no creasing, and the concealer stays put all day! You can get the cream at walmart, for I think, less than $5.00. You get a ton of cream, and a tiny bit goes a long way.
Pressed Powders -Iman - Oil Blotting Translucent Powder
November185 4/2/2010 7:34:00 PM
This is the best pressed powder I have ever used. I've used clinique, mac, and bobbi brown powders-and this cheapy one is the best!. I use the shade medium, and it is perfect to take away oil and top off foundation coverage. I've also experience no acne breakouts from this product-and I am prone to severe acne! I really fear this product being discontinued because it is so difficult to find in my area.
I like this foundation, it's a pretty good drugstore find. The coverage is medium, and it feels very light. It also does photograph well. This foundation blends much better than colorstay, but does not have the amount of coverage that colorstay gives. It also has some shimmer, but not nearly as much as Clinique Perfectly Real or L'Oreal True Match. On thing I did notice is that this foundation did not last all day on me. It oxidized and turned a bit shiny causing me to have to blot several times, and top off coverage with a powder.
