Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Derma Roller
NotoriousCharity 2/1/2013 10:36:00 AM
Wow the dermaroller is an absolute miracle it actually is inducing collagen and smoothing out the hundreds of rolling scars I got from teenage acne. I can barely see them now *fingers crossed* it'll make them disappear. It's a bit painful but definitely worth it if you're also trying to get rid of deep scars. I brought a 1.5mm and 0.5mm dermaroller very cheap on ebay. I figured if it didn't work I was only out $13. Yes it was made in china but so is the iphone and every apple product out there. In my case both my dermarollers were shrink wrapped, extremely sharp micro needles, and sealed in their plastic cases. I applied the homemade vitamin c serum (also on makeupalley) afterwards and voila I'm seeing great results.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Homemade Vitamin C Serum
NotoriousCharity 1/25/2013 9:59:00 AM
Was excited to kiss goodbye super expensive serums and make my own. First I brought 100% argan oil since it’s chock full of vitamin E, it was perfect to mix with a pinch of vitamin C powder and a few drops of distilled water to make the homemade vitamin C serum. I used the Now Vitamin C ascorbic acid powder. I also used either a 1.5 or 0.5 dermaroller beforehand before applying so the serum penetrates deeper. And I love the serum for making my skin more even, fine lines and scars are fading and my freckles are lightening. Definitely recommend.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Argan oil
NotoriousCharity 1/10/2013 3:49:00 PM
The Argan oil on its own didn't do much other than moisturize but since it’s chock full of vitamin E it was perfect to mix with a pinch of vitamin C powder and a few drops of distilled water to make the homemade vitamin C serum (also on makeupalley). I also use either a 1.5 or 0.5 dermaroller beforehand before applying so the serum penetrates deeper. The argan oil itself is a very nice oil and weightless on the skin. I brought a 4 oz bottle on ebay from archer159. And I love the serum for making my skin more even, fine lines and scars are fading and my freckles are lightening. Definitely recommend.

Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Radiance Eye Cream with Royal Jelly
NotoriousCharity 9/20/2012 10:36:00 AM
Burt Bee's radiance cream pros: pleasant milk and honey scent, very rich moisturizing properties, and it made the faint lines underneath my eyes much less noticeable. Now for the cons: I wake up with dry skin flakes all over my eyes (ick), I developed milia spots from it, the amount of eye cream is ridiculously tiny, and it's a tad on the pricey side. I wouldn't be repurchasing.

Liquid -Laneige - Laneige Snow Crystal Dual Foundation
NotoriousCharity 8/10/2012 1:38:00 PM
I loved the dual concealer/foundation idea and the concealer was awesome for areas that needed more coverage. It came in a very pretty white/clear bottle with a pump dispenser and silver snowflakes decorating the sides. I liked the scent however, it may be too perfume like for others. The foundation was a light liquidity texture that blends easily. However, the color oxidizes easily it would match when I first put it on but at the end of the day it would be darker.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Absolute Total BB Cream
NotoriousCharity 8/10/2012 1:12:00 PM
I found skin79 Diamond Absolute Total all right. It does come in a nice aluminum hot pink tube and a pleasant floral scent. However, be warned that it has a grey/pink undertone as opposed to yellow. So if you are yellow based it's probably not going to be a good match. The cream was also thicker than I liked and made it a bit harder to blend as a result. Overall, it just felt too heavy and not a good color match. I preferred Missha Perfect Cover or Innisfree Trouble Care.

Scrubs -Clearasil - Daily Face Scrub
NotoriousCharity 11/12/2011 7:42:00 PM
I switched to this Clearasil scrub after scouring like mad for a replacement for Neutrogena's grapefruit scrub, which was getting too much for my wallet every time I looked at the price I got sticker shock. Anyway, I was quite happy to find Clearasil's scrub had 2% salicylic acid and was under $5 so it's now my morning face scrub. It's pretty gentle with fine grains and has a pleasant scent although I wished it smelled like grapefruit. It is kind of drying but that's what moisturizer is for. I'll repurchase.

Masks -Ole Henriksen - Blue/Black Berry Enzyme Mask
NotoriousCharity 5/19/2011 12:00:00 PM
It's a very calming gel mask. I would slather it on the weekends and pretend I'm at a spa. It definitely left my skin moisturized but I didn't notice any other benefits.

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
NotoriousCharity 5/19/2011 11:19:00 AM
The strips didn't get rid of all the blackheads on my nose although they did pull some white gunk out of my pores. But for $7 a box and not working all that well it's too pricey when you can make your own nose strips mixing gelatin and milk.

Moisturizers -Olay - Night of Olay Firming Cream
NotoriousCharity 5/17/2011 4:39:00 PM
I was using the Olay active hydrating cream before this one but was attracted to the firming claim of this cream. I use this before putting on makeup and it's great. It goes on smooth and matte no oily or greasy look and it provides great moisture throughout the day. The price is reasonable, no breakouts, and it'll prevent fine lines I hope. The jar is a adequate 2 oz. It is scented though but it's not that bad.

Moisturizers -Alpha Hydrox - Enhanced Lotion - 10% AHA
NotoriousCharity 5/17/2011 4:17:00 PM
I absolutely love this product it works wonders. I'll worship Neoteric cosmetics forever for making affordable AHA products. I was looking for something to prevent future wrinkles and improve my acne prone skin. I researched around and picked the enhanced lotion for it's reasonable price, 10% AHA, and you get the most for your money at 6 oz when other companies are asking $20 or more for 1 oz treatments. I was totally sold. I've used it this past month and already my skin tone is more even, less breakouts, and blackheads are gone. I can go outside without putting on makeup. Seriously it's that good.

Liquid -Yves Saint Laurent - TEINT RESIST Long Wear Transfer Resistant Foundation
NotoriousCharity 3/12/2011 10:28:00 PM
I almost wish I hadn't gotten a bottle of this. It's practically perfect great color match, transfer resistant, doesn't oxidize, has a pump, and long lasting. Plus It really does feel like I'm not wearing anything on my face. Makes all my blemishes disappear. I wish colorstay was exactly like this since teint resist is five times more expensive.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment [DISCONTINUED]
NotoriousCharity 1/24/2011 11:45:00 PM
I've been looking forever for a decent priced 2% Salicylic Acid treatment for months and found a winner. This treatment has a light cucumber scent, is moisturizing, and applied nightly it prevents new acne from forming. Plus it's a generous amount at 2 oz. I'm looking at you 0.75 to 1 oz treatments. What more do you need? I hope it never gets discontinued.

Cleansers -AcneFree - 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser
NotoriousCharity 1/24/2011 11:35:00 PM
Very mediocre I won't be repurchasing because of that and because I hate the waxy funky chemical smell and the dispense cap could use some revision. I saw black stuff growing after a few weeks. I don't recommend this cleanser for sensitive skin since it made my face burn for a couple of minute after using. I also find it puzzling as to why it claims to be 100% oil-free yet the ingredient list has tea tree and jojoba oil in it.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
NotoriousCharity 10/31/2010 10:56:00 PM
St. Ives must have reformulated the apricot scrub since I remember it being way more harsh back in high school. This formula is HG the grains are smaller this time around, the scent is light, and there's 2% salicylic acid. I like using it as my every other day scrub when I feel really icky plus it's super cheap.
