Self Tanners -Fake Bake - xtreme
Nostalgicdoll 6/14/2012 11:02:00 AM
I used this for 6 months a few years ago. I'll just start off by saying, don't buy it, please. I'll give you reasons why. - it claims to be really dark and all thohh it is dark it's not a very nice shade and if I'm honest fake bake airbrush is the same colour and the easiest to apply. - the price is not worth it, it goes on cloggy, dries too quickly and leaves parts untanned. - if you have dry skin and or patches, this product will make you sure you knw about it by clinging to dry areas, no matter how much you mosturise. - the texture is too thick and even for someone like me with almost perfect skin, it just will not apply with any ease at all. - once washed off you're hardly even tanned, considering the disgusting patchy colour you go before washing it you'd expect to at least be dark or "Xtreme" when in fact you're not. - FAKEBAKE AIRBRUSH AND ST TROPEZ INSTANT GLOW SPRAY ARE THE EASIEST AND BEST FAKE TANS. Honestly, I had to capatilise this as I am sick of people wasting money on products that don't work properly. I have tried every single high end and drug store tan and the hairsrapy type fake tans like Airbrush are the best. No matter what skin type you have these are brilliant and I don't even have to wash mine off before leaving the house, it goes on THAT well.

Blush -Sleek - Pixie Pink
Nostalgicdoll 6/13/2012 2:19:00 PM
PROS: * I bought this blusher over a year ago and still have 70% of it left, I wear it daily. * Even though the colour looks scary when you open it, the colour isn't anywhere near as pink once applied. All though if you wanted it really pink you could build it up. * the packaging is very cute and has a mirror. * amazing price. CONS: * There rally is nothing negative I can say about it, there are better blushers out there as far as coverage and lasting are concerned but the only ones better than it are 5 times the price. Not worth spending so much more money on something that is hardly even better.

Mascara -Rimmel - Scandal Eyes
Nostalgicdoll 6/13/2012 2:12:00 PM
I bought this when I seen it on offer for £5.99. I do not have a HG mascara, I buy a different mascara when the last one runs out. I've spent a fortune on really rubbish mascaras so tend to just try/buy what's on offer. I'll start with the positives. Unlike most mascaras I have bought, I do not need to apply severl times to get desired effect. As soon as the brush contacts my eyelashes the effect is immediate. I love the brush, it's big and thick and is easy to apply and gives my eyelashes great lift. Cons. For those who dnt like thick eyelashes but likethem long and really separated, this is not for you. It will not give your eyelashes a curl like comb brushes too. The other negative is that the brush can cause havoc trying to get small eyelashes in the inner and outer eye and therefore is also not very easy on the bottom eyelashes. At the minute I'm using Estee Lauder mascara but once that runs out I will probably buy this again until I find my HG mascara.

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
Nostalgicdoll 6/13/2012 6:59:00 AM
I have tried this foundation on and off for years now. It is by far one of the worst foundations I have ever applied in my life. I am someone with normal/combo skin, I like a very good coverage and don't like an overly matte finish. My perfect foundation: Estee Lauder Double Wear Firstly, many years ago I was always wearing Rimmel foundations and wanted to try a Maybelline foundation. The hype around this foundation at the time was huge so thought I'd give a shot. I don't really know where to begin on why I thought it was so awful. Firstly the texture is soft, nice to touch etc but not a good texture for a foundation. As soon as I started to apply it I knew I'd hate it, the colour was awful far too orange even for a pale shade, it would not blend very well at all, it would apply very good but it just didn't set right especially around my eyes and nose. The worst thing about this is the POOR coverage, I can't understand why some people find this a good coverage. I have tinted moisturisers that give more coverage than this. At the time I was using Rimmel foundations and the coverage from that was twenty times more than this. Another really bad thing about this foundation is the finish, even thought it's low coverage, it still has a very weird caked on look and a terrible matte look. I looked like I had layers of makeup on and the worst thing about it was that you could still see my freckles just as much as you could with no foundation. I have given this foundation so many chances and tried different shades but I just cannot even find a positive about it. I'm not one of those who are negative either, I'm usually very optimistic about products but I cannot be with this product. My cousin has wore this foundation for years, since it first came out and it is still her every day foundation so I guess it works for some people. It doesn't look as bad on her as it did on me but again, you can see her freckles all though it looks like she has a lot of make up on. Sorry to those of you who love this, it just didn't work for me at all.

Foundations -Rimmel - Wake Me Up
Nostalgicdoll 6/13/2012 6:41:00 AM
I wear ELDW and that's £26 and it's the best foundation I've ever, ever tried. However, whilst shopping I seen RImmel WMU on sale for £7 so thought I'd try it. If I wasn't used to ELDW then I'd find this foundation really, really good but because I am used to such a perfect foundation then I found lots of downfalls. PROS - it is by far the best Rimmel foundation. It has built in glow/highlighter, brilliant finish for those who don't like a matte finish. Blends well, unlike other Rimmel foundations, WMU didn't clog up around my hairline and eyebrows etc. Leaves a very soft moisturised feeling. CONS - My main concern was coverage, All though it has a fairly good coverage, after an hour it quickly became very thin. Colour match was also a problem as I couldn't find one to be a good match for me. Didn't last very long at all. All together, I would buy this again as an emergency foundation but would have to build up the coverage. PERFECT FOR - Dry skin who don't like a matte finish and like medium coverage. NOT PERFECT FOR - Those who like a matte finish with very high coverage.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
Nostalgicdoll 6/13/2012 6:18:00 AM
Here is my video review. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7bh6ZYJrUw&feature=youtube_gdata_player After spending years searching for my perfect foundation, I have finally found it! I needed a new foundation in February and I was shopping in Manchester. I decided to go to Debenhams and have a gander around all the different counters. Started off with Benefit and Clinique, the ladies both sort of "whispered" to me that they wear ELDW, they should wear the make up from their own counters but a lot of the ladies wear that. So I wondered over to Estee Lauder counter and got matched, I asked for a few shades darker than I needed as I am a full time false tan wearer. I got matched with ivory beige. My make up looked good from what the lady done but I was in a rush so just bought it. I'm now on my second bottle and I doubt I will ever use anything else now. Price - I paid £26.50. A lot more expensive than your usual Rimmel products etc but a lot cheapear in comparison to Chanel and the like. I don't at all mind paying the price for it, in fact I think if they increased the price people still wouldn't mind paying it. Packaging/Bottle - Nothing really to note on this, it looks OK but I'm not really bothered by packaging. The only negative is I wish it would come with a pump or even a stick. Coverage - OUTSTANDING coverage, I don't have much to cover but I do like my freckles to be covered and this covers them perfectly without giving a thick, caked on look. Finish - While it is defiantly more of a Matte finish unlike most Matte foundations it actually still gives off a beautiful very very subtle sheen. I actually don't really like matte finishes so I do use a lot of Benefits high beam highlighter but even without that it's good enough (and this is coming from someone who isn't into Matte). Lasting power - NO foundation ever lasts long on me, even the very expensive ones that are notorious for lasting hours. ESDW claims 15 hours but on me it is no where near that amount but has lasted a lot longer than any other has.
