Skincare - Body -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Hand Cream Unscented
Nosage 5/18/2013 2:54:00 AM
This is not just a hand cream, it is a healer. A couple of times a year I get really bad dermatitis on my hands (think it might be pollen related). Just one application before bed gets rid of 95% of the dry skin. Used over a couple of days this gets rid of it completely. I do not use it every day but I think I might now start using once a week to keep the skin supple. I have had the same tube for 2 years (lasts 36 months once opened). I bought mine for under £2 so it is great value. I like the unscented aspect. Quite hard to get out of the tube as it is a very concentrated gel. 200 applications in the tube according to the text on the tube. Sometimes hard to judge how much you need. 2 dabs seems to do the trick. This takes a small time to sink in but when it does it seems to act as a long term shield. If you buy one cream, make it this one. I like to have a more luxurious product as my everyday hand cream but if I could only have one it would be the Neutrogena one.

Polishes -Barry M - Dusky Mauve
Nosage 5/15/2013 5:21:00 PM
Classy polish. Great quality. Sophisticated shade. Why bother with Chanel shade when this ticks all the boxes? I love a bargain that looks high end, and this is definitely one of them. I think this grey/purple hybrid shade would suit most skin tones. I used two coats and even without a top coat it was extremely glossy. I did use Seche Vite and it lasted a good three days which included lots of typing and cleaning. I will always have this in my collection if it remains available. I want to buy more Barry M polishes now but the other colours in the range look a bit too teenager targeted. I wish they would bring out some more sophisticated shades.

Conditioner -Jason Natural Cosmetics - extra rich biotin conditioner
Nosage 5/5/2013 6:34:00 PM
Good quality conditioner. Plenty of product for your money. Quite hard to rinse out but once done hair feels well nourished. Strange smell which only lasts on application. Quickly disappeared. Unglamorous packaging but a solid workhorse of a conditioner. Not usually a fan of Jason products but I like this and would buy again, but I have a feeling it will ladt a looooong timr.

Polishes -China Glaze - For Audrey

I think this colour is too young for me but I love it just the same. I have only done a test run on a couple of fingernails and have yet to do a complete run with it. Two thin coats and top coat of Seche Vite and it looks the biz. Good brush and good consistency. Makes my hands looked tanned (and they're not). Not sure if I would do my toes. Great summery colour. Makes you smile to look at it.

One for the kids. Luminous unsophisticated orange. I would imagine this would be good for teenagers clubbing in Ibiza or Aya Nappa (spelling?). Bought this unseen from a website. Thought it would be a classy coral but got 'orrible orange. Application was not good. Patchy. Avoid if you are over 21.

Conditioner -ENJOY - Luxury conditioner
Nosage 4/20/2013 3:44:00 AM
I used this with matching shampoo which I have also reviewed. This is equally as expensive and comes in the same tall thick plastic bottles which is going to make the product hard to get out further down the line. Too rich for my hair. I am going to use the shampoo with a lighter conditioner, and this conditioner with a lighter shampoo. Together the combo is too rich for my hair which has no real issues. I only used on the ends of hair. This is intended for hair that needs extra care. So if you have hair that needs extra help read the other reviews as many people have the same issues and recommend this conditioner and the matching shampoo. If you have no issues it will probably be too much for you.

Shampoo -ENJOY - Luxury Shampoo
Nosage 4/20/2013 3:38:00 AM
If you hair needs a lot of moisturising I think this would be an excellent shampoo for you. If you have "normal" hair it will be too rich for you. I have hair with no issues, although my scalp can get irritated. I used the shampoo for the first time last night. Got up this morning and my hair is lank. By this evening it will need a wash. I did use with the matching conditioner so it was probably rich product overload. It is expensive but you get a lot of product. You only need a tiny amount of shampoo to get a lot of suds. That's unusual for sulphate free shampoos. Bottles are striking to look out but the tall dense plastic bottles will make it hard to get the product out when the more you use. Pleasant aroma. This did not irritate my scalp at all. I will perhaps use less next time and with a lighter conditioner and see how I get on. So, my advice, buy if your hair needs a bit of nourishment, but if you have no real hair issues, try a lighter product.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Body Mist - Grapefruit
Nosage 4/17/2013 4:45:00 AM
I have the eau de toilette rather than body spray. Grapefruit by its very essence is an unsophisticated smell but I happen to love the smell. Interestingly research somewhere or other "revealed" that wearers of grapefruit aromas were perceived to be 10 years younger than they are. I can't comment on that as I have not noticed anyone expressing shock that I am a certain age, but hey, everything helps. The Body Shop version is a very light but pleasant aroma but it does not have a great deal of longevity, but the small bottle makes it easy to carry around and have a spritz every now and then. Definitely a warmer month spray. Not expensive. I do prefer Arran Aromatics Citrus Shores which is slightly more sophisticated and better quality than this version, having grapefruit has its main element but additional elements to make a more deeper scent.

Lotions/ Creams -Garnier - Intensive 7 Days Conditioning Lotion
Nosage 4/13/2013 4:41:00 PM
I have Shea butter version. So so moisturiser. I will use up but probably not repurchase. Reading other reviewers you have to use this quite a while before you feel the full effects so perhaps my skin will suddenly become lush. Good value for £. Always on offer somewhere.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Ultrasun very high 50+SPF ultra sensitive extreme formula
Nosage 4/13/2013 4:32:00 PM
I got a badly burned chest a few years back that has never really recovered. I was advised by a consultant dermatologist that I should make sure it was always covered up in the sun. This cream is ideal. I use this every day from round about now until Oct. might seem a bit paranoid but apart from trying to avoid the dreaded older woman's crepey chest, I am afraid of damaging the fragile skin there further. It 's expensive but as you only use it once a day it lasts me from April to Oct. it sinks in immediately leaving no white cast or shiny surface. During the same period I also use the special SPF 30 face cream which is also a combined moisturiser. That is also great and I see it as insurance against everyday sun exposure and makes a great base to put make up on top. I have also used the SPF 30 sports spray on the rest of my body which is also great, sinks in immediately. I am going to try the SPF 20 sports gel as a replacement for the spray this year as my arms etc do not require as much protection. I bought all three products (SPF 50 cream, SPF 30 face and SPF 20 gel for £63 in total this weekend in John Lewis.) this seems a lot but I take my sun protection seriously and as the once a day protection claim is true, I see this as essential expenditure in the warmer months. You can shop around and find the items slightly cheaper online. If you want non-greasy high protection in a once a day formula, go for this brand. I think it would be great for children.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Fenjal Hydrate & Replenish Body Lotion
Nosage 4/13/2013 4:15:00 PM
I have been buying the bath oil for years but decided to purchase the body lotion when I saw it on an offer. I disagree with the other reviewer - this smells exactly like the oil. As well as the fabulous smell the moisturising qualities are very very good. Comes in a 200 ml slim pump bottle in the usual Fenjal aqua colour. Wish it was in a bigger bottle but I only use once a week when I use the bath oil. (Fenjal bath night is a weekly treat so the rest of the time I shower or use less expensive unguents in the bath.) this is a very light lotion that sinks in immediately leaving just a lovely aroma and silky smooth skin. I wish I could get the same lotion in a different aroma, not because as I have already said, I dislike the smell but I want to save this aroma for treats. I would love to find a similar light but moisturising lotion for everyday use.

Foundations -Max Factor - Colour Adapt
Nosage 4/6/2013 1:54:00 PM
Another one for the foundation graveyard. I have spent a lot of money over the years to find the HG base. After a long relationship with Prescriptives (now sadly demised) and Dr Hausaka, I decided to stick to No 7 tinted moisturiser (that was also subject to a formula and shade change, but weirdly not in the US so I stock up when I visit , so frustrating) but wanted something for days when I need more coverage. I like the bottle. Not luxurious but a sturdy plastic with pump dispenser. Has a see through panel at the side so you can see when it is nearing empty. Get a decent amount of product. Found the texture a little dry. I only used a half pump and it gave very good coverage, if a little flat looking. If it was the right foundation for me it would last a long time. However shade was too light even though it was mid spectrum (blushing beige). I wish you could buy samples of foundations for all the shades of every foundation to avoid expensive mistakes and crushing disPpointment

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Nude Magique CC Cream anti dullness
Nosage 4/4/2013 12:17:00 PM
I bought the anti-fatigue version which is the apricot one and I like it. Not HG but a decent enough product. My face is lightly faked tanned at the moment so I am not sure how it would look on my natural skin tone. I will try at some point and if it looks too orange I will report back. The blurb says it is a colour correcting beautifier which transforms into a foundation that wakes up the complexion for a perfect nude look. Says it provides 24 hr hydration, gives flawless cover, perfectly even skin texture, a fresh dewy glow and an SPF of 12 in smart pigment capsules! Bold claims. I have sensitive skin which has not reacted to it. Slight fresh fruity aroma. 30ml in the tube which is light and portable with a thin nozzle type dispenser.

Skincare - Body -L'Occitane - Almond Supple Skin Oil
Nosage 3/28/2013 5:52:00 PM
Beautiful scent, nicely (if impractically) packaged in a heavy glass bottle with spritzer. A nice body oil which I use with the body concentrate moisturiser but too expensive to buy again.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - Almond - AMANDE Concentre De Lait Milk Concentrate Body Cream - Almond Line
Nosage 3/28/2013 5:47:00 PM
This is a so so moisturiser. Not the best I have ever used but for the exorbitant price it should be. Comes in an attractive but totally impractical heave glass jar. Scent is divine. I would buy for the scent alone but even I would think buying such an expensive cream for the smell rather than its effectiveness would be crazy stupid. I bought the oil from the same range and what I do is squirt a bit of the oil into my palm and the scoop some cream from the jar to apply. This is an accident waiting ti happen. Both containers are glass and my hands are slippery......the oil and cream mixture is a better moisturising experience but as that oil is also expensive I will not be buying that again either.
