Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Devita Daily Solar Protective Moisturizer spf 30
NoelMarie 5/13/2011 10:56:00 PM
I love this sunscreen! Before Devita I had never liked the feel of sunscreen on my face - it felt greasy, was full of chemical ingredients, and made me break out. Devita's Solar Protective Moisturizer is different. It absorbs quickly, works well under mineral makeup, and protects my skin. When I take off my makeup at the end of the day, my skin looks and feels great.
Shampoo -Silk Naturals - Coconut Argan Cleansing Conditioner
NoelMarie 5/13/2011 10:28:00 PM
I love this product! I have a lot of long, straight hair and this cleansing conditioner leaves it clean, soft, and smelling great without weighing it down. I apply the conditioner, finger-comb it through my hair, and let it sit while I shower, shave my legs, etc. It washes out easily and leaves my hair tangle-free. I also love that this conditioner is made with natural ingredients and is vegan.
GoW's ReNew Cream is amazing! It is wonderfully moisturizing without leaving my rather oily and somewhat sensitive skin greasy or irritated. It is filled with wonderful ingredients such as kukui nut oil, lingonberry oil, grapeseed oil, and renovage which make my skin feel soft and look beautiful. I use this cream at night and GoW's Majik ReNew Serum at night. For me it is the perfect combination! GoW sells two versions of its ReNew Cream - regular (with wax) and waxless (which is what I use) - and comes in a .25 oz sample size for trying out as well as the full-sized 1 oz jar.
Eye Shadow -Aromaleigh - Eye Lustres in Fiona [DISCONTINUED]
NoelMarie 6/27/2010 1:28:00 PM
Fiona is a gorgeous pale nude/beige color with a delicate silver sheen and is perfect as a highlighter color. A full size of this product sells for $7.25, but Aromaleigh has regular 25% off sales which makes a jar of this beautiful color an even better deal. IMO if you are looking for a pale neutral shade with a hint of sheen, you can't go wrong with Fiona.
Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Alicia Silverstone 5-piece Brush Set
NoelMarie 5/27/2010 11:37:00 PM
The skunk brush alone is worth the cost of this five-piece set! It is the perfect brush for my mineral finishing powders. The blush brush is super soft, applies a touch of color beautifully, and, like the skunk brush, feels wonderful on my skin. The crease brush is soft and fluffy which makes applying a wash of shadow to my crease quick and easy. I already have a brow/lash comb, so I have not yet used the final brush in the set, but unlike my current one, I love the fact that the handle is made of bamboo. The little cosmetic bag in which the brushes come is made from hemp and is decorated with lovely poppies. I bought mine online from Target and at $14, it was an amazing deal!
Fyrinnae has a great color selection in their lip lustre products and Devil Horns really called out to me. The color is a gorgeous medium toned pinky-coral and it has a lovely vanilla rum scent. It has a lighter texture than other glosses and lipsticks I have used (which is nice) while still being moisturizing and long lasting on my lips. I purchased the sample size for $2.50 and will definitely purchase a larger size when the very generous sample runs out.
Primer/ Corrector -Fyrinnae - Velvet-Gel Silica Primer
NoelMarie 4/2/2010 8:57:00 PM
I love this primer! It applies easily, dries quickly, and makes my skin a perfectly smooth canvas for my mineral makeup. It is gentle enough for my somewhat reactive and breakout-prone skin and helps to control the oilies until I remove my makeup at the end of the day. I love that this primer is vegan and that the list of ingredients is short and simple. This is an outstanding product and at $5.50 for a half-ounce jar, it is an amazing deal.
Eye Shadow -Aromaleigh - Bête Noire Eyeshadow in Jolie [DISCONTINUED]
NoelMarie 2/6/2010 2:22:00 PM
I purchased Jolie after trying the Aromaleigh Bete Noire sample set and did not realize at the time that it would become one of my favorites. Jolie is a gorgeous plummy burgundy color with pretty purple sparkles. It looks lovely as a crease color with my neutral to warm toned skin and it really brings out the green tones in my blue/green/gray eyes. If you like plummy purples, give Jolie a try.
Lips -Aromaleigh - Elemental Lustres Nourishing Color Creme in Limbo [DISCONTINUED]
NoelMarie 10/17/2009 7:23:00 PM
Limbo is a warmish neutral peachy/coppery/beige color that looks dark in the tube but goes on a lovely shimmering nude. A gorgeous MLBB shade that looks amazing with a dark or dramatic smokey eye. The formula is moisturizing with a decadent cocoa scent that fades away leaving my lips feeling soft and smooth. I will definitely repurchase.
Cleansers -Garden of Wisdom - Simply Clean Tea Tree Oil Cleanser
NoelMarie 10/10/2009 9:56:00 PM
Garden of Wisdon's Simply Clean Tea Tree Cleanser works wonderfully in removing makeup at the end of the day and cleaning my skin without making it feel overly cleansed or sensitive. The tea tree scent is clean and invigorating (especially early in the morning) and the fabulous ingredients in this cleanser which include manuka honey, seabuckthorn oil, neem oil, as well as tea tree oil, have helped to keep my oily skin blemish free. I rotate this cleanser with GoW's Jen's Green Tea/Shea Cleanser and highly recommend them both!
I am new to wearing blush - my skin has a natural pink flush and I never felt that I needed to wear additional color. After receiving samples of Meow's Lush Blush in an order, I gave it a try and I have to admit that a little of the right color applied on the right spot really makes a difference. Kitty Love (a medium rose with cherry undertones) and Wanton (a pomegranate shade) are my favorites thus far. The formula has a gorgeous shimmer (not sparkly) and blends beautifully with contour powder and cheekbone highlighter on top of my mineral foundation. The sample sizes are generous and since I use such a small amount, they will last me for quit a while. I plan to purchase a full size once my samples are gone.
Foundations -Meow Cosmetics - Pampered Puss Mineral Foundation
NoelMarie 10/10/2009 8:45:00 PM
Made up of just four ingredients - Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, and Iron Oxides - this simple and good for my skin foundation is truly amazing! Pampered Puss is a light to medium coverage formula which feels soothing to my skin and lasts all day (no small accomplishment). Although it feels like I am wearing nothing on my face, it covers my imperfections beautifully while still allowing my own skin to show through. The online forum is a great source of help in deciding on the correct color for your skin (Jen is fabulous!) and with almost 100 different shades ranging from pure white to deep mahogany, there is a good chance of finding a match no matter what your skintone. Prices range from $1 for a sample baggie (enough product for several applications) to $12.95 for a 25 gram Munchkin jar, and $23.95 for a jumbo 85 gram jar. I have been wearing Papmered Puss for almost two years and my skin couldn't be happier.
Loose Powders -Meow Cosmetics - Top Cat Finish Setting Powder
NoelMarie 10/10/2009 8:01:00 PM
A fabulous finishing powder that sets my mineral foundation (also by Meow) and leaves my skin looking smooth and flawless. Its only ingredients are silk powder and boron nitride so not only does it apply beautifully, it helps to absorb excess oil, and is good for my skin.
Eye Shadow -Aromaleigh - Eye Plush Collection (All) [DISCONTINUED]
NoelMarie 10/10/2009 7:47:00 PM
Aromaleigh's Eye Plush shadows apply like silk and are perfect for a neutral eye or to pair with bolder darker shades, like Aromaleigh's Bete Noire collection. My favorites include Persian Kitten and Silk Stockings (peachy pink nudes), Satin Slippers (gorgeous wearable light khaki), Prim Tweed (violet gray), Buttoned Up (a lovely neutral taupe), and Rosy Cheeks (rose blush). The entire collection is gorgeous! Try out the sample set - the samples are generous and it is a great way to try them all in order to decide which ones work best on you.
Cleansers -Garden of Wisdom - Jen's Green Tea/Shea Cleanser
NoelMarie 7/25/2009 9:30:00 PM
This is a wonderful cleanser that removes my makeup and cleans my oily skin without even a hint of harshness. The scent is clean (smells like aloe vera) and a four ounce bottle will last a long time. (I use this cleanser twice a day and my husband uses it once a day and we have gone through about a quarter of the bottle in two months.) The packaging is a simple - it comes in a plastic bottle, and yes, the label did wash off after several uses, but it is the amazing results that I get with this product that keep me purchasing it again and again and not the fancy packaging. This handmade, natural, and gentle cleanser is priced very reasonably and I have found it to be more effective than the numerous drugstore, department store, and boutique/spa cleansers that I used in the past. A sample size can be purchased at Garden of Wisdom's website for just a few dollars and it is definitely worth a try.
