Polishes -China Glaze - Whirled Away

VERY cute, but a bit of a pain to apply. I had to tip it sideways and upside down every time I dip in the brush to get some of the pieces out. Plus, it was hard to see the black pieces against the black brush so I didn't know whether I got any or not until I try it against my finger. I also had to be careful of bubbles. First time I tried this polish, I ended up getting a lot of the clear base and the glitter pieces "floated" away from my nail and I had to readjust them and ended up with bubbles that I didn't notice until I put on my top coat. However, I love the way it looks. The black and white hexagonal glitter with the black bar glitter is so adorable I could live with the annoying application. If you have enough time and patience, I recommend this polish for sure!

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Unstoppable Eyeliner

I really like the application, it goes on smoothly without tugging at my eye and the onyx shows up really black. I find it doesn't last very long until it smudges though. It was really bad the first time I tried it so I used an eyeshadow primer around my eye and underneath before putting it on and it's not TOO bad, but it still smudges a little. I might buy it again once I find a way to keep it from smudging since I like the price and the application.

Skincare - Body -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Oil
rated 5 of 5

A while ago I got a skin infection on my arm which caused my whole body to flare up in a rash. The infection is now gone but my skin is super dry and itchy all the time. The extremely cold weather does not help! I have used many moisturizers, but they don't last very long on my skin and I find myself re-applying constantly. Using baby oil has greatly improved the condition of my skin. I use it right after a shower to seal in the moisture and it has worked wonders. Baby oil is not actually a moisturizer since the molecules are too big to get into the pore (which means it does not clog it either) but it sits on top of the skin to prevent moisture from getting out. While it has definitely improved my itchy rashes, I have yet to use it on my face because of the fragrance in it. Cosmetic companies can use any mixture of ingredients to make a smell, but only label it on the product as "fragrance" so I'm afraid of getting a reaction from it since I do not know what is in it. Otherwise, I think baby oil is fantastic and I'll be on the hunt for an unscented version. :)

Polishes -Essie - My Way

The perfect sheer peachy-pink colour that's not too pink. I wear this on days I don't feel like doing any of my crazy nail art and it always makes my nails look clean and presentable without any streaks. :D

Polishes -Essie - Nailpolish

I find myself reaching for Essie whenever I want a clean look that's not too bold. They do many light pastel colours which is slightly frustrating since it becomes difficult for me to choose among the similar-looking polishes. However, once I did make my choice, I've been pretty happy with them. I find a couple are somewhat streaky, but that's only a few out of the many I own. My two favourites out of my entire polish collection (not just among my Essie ones) would be "Shine of the Times" and "My Way". Even if my favourite brand overall is OPI, I would choose those two over all OPI ones any day. :)

Polishes -OPI - Nail Polishes
rated 5 of 5

OPI is my absolute favourite nail polish brand. What makes me choose OPI over other brands is 1) the thicker brush is very easy to work with and 2) the selection of colours is fantastic. I have not had any problems with staining or chipping. With a good base coat and top coat, I can usually get 5-7 days without any major chipping (usually just minimal chipping at the tips) and avoid staining. Sometimes when I'm lazy I just skip the top coat altogether and it's still okay for about 3-4 days. Good enough for me considering how often I change my nail colour! It can get kind of pricey, but I usually only purchase it at a nail supply store and I can get tons of bottles for half the price. :)

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Coconut Milk Body Lotion
rated 4 of 5
Nitala 6/23/2012 11:58:00 PM

I'm not really a big fan of this lotion when it comes to moisturizing as I prefer the body butters but I prefer a spray bottle over a tub so the packaging is a plus. This would've been a three-star product for me, but I really liked the way it felt on my sunburns. It was very soothing, so I upped the rating by one star. Now I plan on bringing it with me whenever I'm outside for long periods of time.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - All Colors
rated 5 of 5

I was browsing around for some cheap nail polish in solid colours in order to do nail art and decided to buy a couple of these since they were only a few dollars (2-4$ depending on where you go). No regrets, I've since bought several more! The colour payoff is great. For most (Black Out, Lilac, Gunmetal, et cetera), one coat is usually enough for me if I just want a quick pop of colour and I'm in a hurry, two coats make it perfect. Minimal chipping for me, which is great since I work with my hands all day. So great price + colour payoff + long-lasting = definite repurchase for me!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Black Out
rated 4 of 5
Nitala 3/12/2012 9:18:00 PM

First of all, it's a REALLY good price. I normally buy OPI which is quite pricey so this seemed like a steal. That being said, it's pretty good! I only needed one coat for this one since it goes on really opaque. I find the formula sliiiiightly watery though. It seemed to drip a little on the sides and it was kind of annoying trying to clean up the edges. Overall, I would repurchase because of the price and it saves me time by needing only one coat.

Polishes -OPI - Save Me
rated 4 of 5
Nitala 3/12/2012 9:10:00 PM

Wow, this has TONS of glitter! :O This is from OPI's Nicki Minaj collection and has tons of silver microglitter along with blue and holographic bar glitter. It's extremely shiny and I love it. I've gotten so many compliments on it. The only thing that bothers me a little is the bar glitter. While it's very pretty, it sometimes sticks up and it's fairly annoying. I need to use maybe 2 coats of topcoat to make it less "rough". However, I still love it and will purchase again (if I can find it, seems to be sold out wherever I go!)

Polishes -Nicole - Kardashian Kolor - Rainbow in the S-Kylie
rated 5 of 5
Nitala 3/12/2012 9:01:00 PM

I'm a huuuuge fan of glitter so when I saw this one, I snapped it up right away. It takes about 3 coats for me to get it opaque which I find is the usual for glitter. When I'm impatient I usually scrape the glitter on the edge of my nail then use the brush to push it around. I absolutely love this for layering, it makes any colour look interesting. When I first bought it, I wore it by itself and it didn't chip on me for a few days. Even afterwards, chipping was minimal. I am DEFINITELY going to buy more once I finish this bottle. :D

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Papaya Body Butter
rated 5 of 5
Nitala 2/26/2012 10:45:00 PM

This is quickly becoming one of my favourite body butters! I love the scent, it's sweet and fruity but not as strong as satsuma or blueberry. The consistency is also similar to satsuma and it's easy to spread. I also find it's a great moisturizer for my normal-ish skin. My hands are so soft all day. :D

Love this scent! So soft and not overpowering. And it the scent lasts for a long time. I only dab a bit in the morning and it's there all day. I bought the largest bottle and it seems like it'll last me a very long time so it's a great deal. :D Definite repurchase.

Shampoo -LUSH - Karma Komba
rated 4 of 5
Nitala 1/16/2012 10:27:00 PM

I really like this shampoo. It cleans/lathers just as well as any other shampoo I've used so it's nothing outstanding in that regard. However, I would continue buying it over the others because of the smell (it's not for everyone, but I like it!) and the fact that it seems to last forever! I was surprised at the $10.95 CAD price tag for such a small bar, but I've been using it for months and still have a little more than half the bar. :O I will definitely repurchase once I finally finish it.

Lip Gloss -The Body Shop - born lippy - strawberry
rated 4 of 5
Nitala 12/25/2011 8:38:00 PM

I love the smell, it's so sweet and delicious! It gives my lips a nice colour too, nothing too bright. The only cons would be the staying power and the pot. It doesn't last long on my lips and I don't like sticking my fingers into the pot. Other than that, I'd likely buy it again.
