Liquid -Bourjois - 123 Perfect Foundation
Nina_82 1/1/2013 11:22:00 PM
I had high hopes for this foundation, as I love the only other Bourjois foundation I've bought (Healthy Mix). Sadly, it just doesn't seem to work for me. I don't really like the consistency, it's difficult to blend and, on me at least, it looks a bit "cakey", not the natural finish I wanted. I also find that it highlights any dry skin or flakiness, so I really need to moisturise and use a hydrating primer beforehand. The lightest shade, 51, wasn't the same perfect match for my skin tone as 51 in Healthy Mix. I think it's a little more orange-toned. Also not a fan of the smell, although once it's on it's not too bad. Overall, not impressed and I won't be repurchasing.

Eye Shadow -Too Faced - Couture Eye Shadow Luxe - Glamazon

I absolutely love this eyeshadow, I reach for it whenever I can't decide what shade to wear. It's perfect for day or night, just the right amount of shimmer without being over the top. The taupe colour really complements my eyes and pale skin. Will definitely repurchase once I use it up.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Daisy Eau So Fresh
Nina_82 12/10/2011 11:28:00 PM
Love this scent! I think it's nicer than the original Daisy, and perfect for the warmer weather. I wear this every day to work, it's not too overpowering and it's sweet without being sickly.

Scrubs -Aesop - Tea-Tree Leaf Facial Exfoliant
Nina_82 12/10/2011 10:56:00 PM
I use this with Aesop Fabulous Face Cleanser, only about once a week because I have somewhat sensitive skin. But I don't find that it irritates my skin at all. I love the smell and the fact that it feels very "natural", as opposed to some of the plastic-y scrubs out there. Prepares skin nicely for a mask. Highly recommended.

Moisturizers -Aesop - Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream
Nina_82 12/10/2011 10:53:00 PM
I was worried this cream might be too heavy for my skin, but I have noticed a real improvement in my skin clarity and softness since I started using it. Lovely fragrance too, I would definitely consider repurchasing this. Only thing I don't like is the jar, as I worry a bit about contamination.

Moisturizers -Aesop - Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream
Nina_82 12/10/2011 10:50:00 PM
Unfortunately this moisturiser just didn't seem to work with my skin. I have combination skin and this didn't help with breakouts. The smell was also a bit too overpowering. I've moved on to the Primrose cream and am finding that seems to suit my skin a lot better. Worth a try though.

Cleansers -Aesop - Fabulous Face Cleanser
Nina_82 12/10/2011 10:48:00 PM
This is a beautiful cleanser, doesn't dry out my skin and leaves it feeling clean. The smell isn't too overpowering either. It's pricy, but I think it's worth it, so I would buy it again.

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Body Wash
Nina_82 7/10/2011 9:20:00 AM
Haven't seen much improvement in my back acne since using this wash. Admittedly, I don't use it every day, maybe 4-5 times a week, but I would still expect to see some difference at least. Also it smells kind of funky, not terrible, but not great either!

Fragrances -Philosophy - Falling in Love
Nina_82 7/5/2011 12:53:00 AM
As far as the fragrance itself goes - I love this! If you like sweet scents that are very girly, this is worth a try. It's sugary without smelling cheap, IMO. I also love the simplicity of the bottle, and the name is cute too! To me it is the kind of scent you'd wear on a first date. Only downside, as others have said, is the staying power. After a couple of hours, it almost disappears, so if I'm wearing it I always take the bottle with me in my handbag so I can reapply. Besides that, Falling in Love is my current favourite out of all my perfumes.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
Nina_82 7/5/2011 12:47:00 AM
I bought this as part of the makeup optional kit, after reading so many rave reviews about this cleanser in particular. As with the other Philosophy skin care products I've tried, I'm not that impressed. I don't really like the consistency of this cleanser, it doesn't really feel like it's cleaning my skin properly. It does remove most of my makeup, but not as well as some other cleansers I've tried. The smell is slightly sickening too. This really hasn't done anything for my skin, the breakouts I have been getting on my chin and jawline are worse than ever, while the rest of my face is tight, dry and slightly blotchy. I've used about 2/3 of the bottle, think the rest will now be used to clean my makeup brushes!!

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar SPF 20
Nina_82 7/2/2011 6:45:00 AM
Like other reviewers, I was instantly put-off by the cottage-cheese texture of this moisturiser! Also the formula starts to separate pretty quickly after opening, which doesn't fill me with confidence. I find that it just seems to sit on top of my skin, without really sinking in, and it doesn't feel like it's doing anything, except possibly making me break out!! The smell is ok, that's probably the best thing I can say about it. It's sad because I really wanted to like Philosophy's skin care products, but for me they have been mostly ineffective.

Skincare - Face -Philosophy - When Hope Is Not Enough - Serum
Nina_82 7/2/2011 6:36:00 AM
I got this as part of the Makeup Optional kit, and like the rest of the products, it's left me fairly underwhelmed. It feels quite nice when you put it on, I guess it's hydrating enough, but it just doesn't seem to do a lot for my skin. I used up nearly the whole bottle and I can't say that my skin looks any better than when I started using it, and if anything it has caused me to break out a little. For the price, I don't think this is anything special.

Stick -Napoleon Perdis - Stick Foundation
Nina_82 7/2/2011 5:06:00 AM
I have this in the lightest shade (Look 1), but it still isn't light enough for my pale skin. I find that I have to use powder over the top to avoid it looking unnatural. In terms of coverage, it's pretty good at covering any blemishes, though I'm fairly certain it's not doing any favours for the congestion on my chin - it's a very heavy foundation and every time I use it, my skin seems to look worse the next day. So far I haven't been too impressed with the Napoleon products I've tried, I think they're overpriced and overhyped!

Mascara -Napoleon Perdis - Long Double Black Mascara
Nina_82 4/12/2011 4:22:00 AM
Really disappointed with this mascara, I have a special occassion coming up and thought I'd buy something a bit more 'high-end' for my lashes. The packaging is gorgeous, and the mascara smells nice, but I can't say much else that's positive about this, unfortunately! For the price, I was expecting a lot more. The biggest problem is that this mascara smudges - a lot. But it's also really difficult to remove at the end of the day, don't know how that works! Within a couple of hours of applying, I have panda eyes, so there's no way I would be wearing this if I'm going to be in photos. It does lengthen my lashes a bit, but nothing amazing. Save your money and don't bother with this. I'll be going back to cheap mascara!! :P

Cleansers -Korres - Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser
Nina_82 3/30/2011 3:29:00 AM
I was really impressed with how well this cleanser removes makeup, including eye makeup. And it doesn't irritate my eyes at all. It has a really nice texture, foams up just enough and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or dry. All up, it's a really good quality cleanser at a decent price, but after using it for about 2 months now I haven't noticed any huge improvements in my skin. My cheeks aren't quite as dry and flaky, but I'm still getting blemishes on my chin. I'm going to try something else once this runs out, but I wouldn't rule out purchasing it again.
