Treatments -Sephora - Sephora by OPI - Hydrator
NikkiatMAC 12/21/2012 5:25:00 PM
I love this product. I use it alone as a nail polish. It makes my nails look shiny and beautiful. I love the slight grayish- blue tint that makes my nails look a million times better than if i had just buffed them alone. It also dries super fast, under a minute and I'm ready to go. Plus it lasts a few days before I need to redo it. I also like that I don't have to use polish remover, because as it wears off, it does not look bad like regular nail polish. I've had my bottle for 18 months and its still 3/4 full. Awesome value, awesome product.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder (Pressed)
NikkiatMAC 8/25/2011 3:29:00 PM
Just bought this today so it might be a bit early for a review but I just wanted to share my thoughts thus far. The MA tried it on me in the store and my face looked instantly brighter and my pores looked smaller. Kind of like an air brushed look. I have noticed that my skin feels a bit itchy, but I'll see if it does it again tomorrow. I have not blotted as of yet today but my skin doesn't feel oily and looks slightly dewy. So far I am impressed. Will update on oil control and if it causes any reactions or break outs.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Grow Luscious Lash Liner - 002 Espresso
NikkiatMAC 8/14/2011 6:46:00 PM
First off I really like the color. A deep dark brown that has no real red undertones that some browns can have, which can make eyes look tired. Went on super smooth, and the tip of the pencil still retained it's shape. Acts like a gel eyeliner but in pencil form which makes application so much faster Lasts all day with no irritation to my eyes. Plus it's paraben free. Love it!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
NikkiatMAC 5/10/2011 12:51:00 PM
Cover Girl seems to be one of the few brands that can make claims like "smudgeproof" and "flakeproof" and actually mean it. I got this for under $5 at Walmart, and its the best mascara I've tried to date. No smudges, No flakes, lasts all day and its easy to remove at night. I love it! I just wish it didn't have parabens in it. Thats the only thing about it that may make me look for another mascara one day. P.S. I have wicked oily skin, so most mascaras don't last on me at all - except this one.

Mascara -Almay - Get Up and Grow
NikkiatMAC 1/27/2011 12:08:00 AM
I got this mascara after really disliking Maybelline's new One by One mascara. It made my lashes fall out, so I decided they could use some lovin, so I got the new Almay mascara. So far I'm pretty happy with it. It gives me long, full, lush lashes that almost last all day. Because my skin is super oily, I do get a bit of smudges on my brow bone by the evening and minor smudges under my eyes, but no where near the raccoon eye look. I'm sure if your skin isn't oily, this mascara will be perfect. Also, it didn't flake, and I hate flaking way more than smudging, so I am still using this product. Pros: No flaking Leaves lashes soft and plush Cons: Can smudge if you have oily skin Is a bit difficult to remove even with eye makeup remover I said I wouldn't buy this again, but that's because I always like to try something new, and doesn't have anything to do with the product itself.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express One by One
NikkiatMAC 1/11/2011 12:52:00 PM
Overall, I'm not really impressed with this mascara. I have the non-waterproof version, and I can only use it on my top lashes or it flakes horribly. I don't find it really volumizes lashes and even with all the bristles on the brush, I still get little clumps at the tip of my eyelashes. So its an average mascara, but what I can't stand is the smell. It has a strong rose scent, and because the formula is really wet, it takes a while for it to dry and the smell never really seems to go away. I will not be repurchasing. Edit: I've stopped using this as it made my lashes kind of crispy and they started to fall out.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Sin-tillation (Cham-pale Collection)
NikkiatMAC 1/7/2011 4:18:00 PM
First off, I love lip gelees. I like the texture, scent and the squeeze tube (I find it more sanitary than the wands in the lip glass and such). I got this shade and bubble lounge and I love them both. Yes they are very glittery, but not in bad way. Once they warm up on your lips the glitter smoothes out evenly and you are left with a gorgeous shimmery lip. This color looks almost like a white/pink in the tube, but once on your lips it gives a very sheer pink opalescent look. Even in the sunlight these look really pretty. I'd would buy all of the lip gelees that came with the Cham Pale collection, but most are quite similar, so I'm happy with the two I got. I will repurchase any time MAC comes out with these glittery gelees!

Eyeliner -MAC - Dark Diversion Fluidline
NikkiatMAC 12/27/2010 2:17:00 PM
Dark Diversion is a new, Limited Edition Fluidline eyeliner from MAC. It's a dark burgundy with a bit of shimmer to it. Once its dry on your eye it transforms to be a bit more purple with almost a slight metallic finish. Very pretty! I found the colour to be quite opaque and not sheer at all. Overall, I believe this is a must have if you like gel eyeliners.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Matte Foundation spf 15
NikkiatMAC 8/16/2010 3:05:00 PM
This is a bitter sweet review for me. I've been on the hunt for a foundation that doesn't break my skin out, covers my redness and pores, and is natural (i.e. healthier, safer ingredients). I used this foundation for two weeks and this is what I found: I got the occasional pimple from this, but I figure it was due to the fact that the foundation helped with skin cell turnover, so it might be similar to an initial breakout you get when you start exfoliating your skin. It did not do anything for my oily skin, however, when I did blot, the makeup stayed fresh and I never had to reapply throughout the day. It also did not get cakey as my skin got oilier throughout the day, which is great for summer when in addition to oil, skin can get sweaty. I found the coverage to be so-so, at tops a natural medium, no full coverage what so ever. That being said, I did like how it looked, even though some redness still peeked through. As for the long term effect on my skin, I noticed that it was becoming less red overall, and blackheads that I've had forever, had started to vanish. My pores were also about half the size of when I stared using the foundation. I was pretty happy. However, I have stopped using this foundation. I found that while applying it I'd have to hold my breath because it disperses into the air so easily. You can actually see a little power cloud appear as you apply it. So, I googled the safety of mineral foundations and found that they can be dangerous to your lungs if the particle size is too small. ( I read that this foundation's particle size should be safe) Also, on the Cosmetic Safety Data website, this was a 7/10. So not quite the natural, safer product I was looking for. That being said, I am still tempted to try this again if any new information surfaces that proves these are safer than the typical foundations. And, yes, I know you can't believe everything you read on the internet, so please use your own discretion when you make decisions regrading products you use.

Cleansers -Clinique - Wash-Away Gel Cleanser
NikkiatMAC 6/18/2010 2:48:00 AM
I've been using this for almost 10 years now and I think I'm only on my third tube. You only have to use a pea size to remove all your makeup then follow up with your normal facial cleanser. Doesn't leave my skin dry or cause breakouts. Removes all my makeup. So pleased. The only product I use from Clinique.

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50
NikkiatMAC 6/16/2010 6:20:00 PM
I have very fair, oily and acne prone skin, so I was excited for this product. High SPF and helps absorb oil. Well, frankly, I really don't like this product. My makeup slid off my face faster than normal and at the end of the day when I washed my face I had tons of pimples starting all over my face. I don't want to try MAC's face products again.

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by OPI - Going Nude, eh?
NikkiatMAC 6/8/2010 4:24:00 PM
Ok, so how could I not buy this polish after it was made for Canada?? Normally I don't wear nail polish and when I do, I prefer nudes or light pinks. This colour scared me a bit in the bottle, just because it looked a bit grey and dull, not at all the light nude it was described as. I tried it anyways because sometimes the colour looks differently on your nails. I tried it on my toes. The first coat went on streaky and uneven. Second coat made the colour opaque. Now, the colour...its a weird taupish-nude with a yellow-green cast. Gross! I wanted to return this immediately! I took the polish off and was ready to throw in the towel. But then, I decided to try to give it a better one coat. WOW! Much better. One coat adds a pretty sheen to the nails with no hit of the yellow you get with two coats. I think I will keep this, but not impressed with the quality of product for the $12 price tag. Bottom line: If you can manage one non-streaky coat, this will be a nice neutral.

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna
NikkiatMAC 6/4/2010 2:42:00 AM
I've been using this for about two weeks now and glad to report no breakouts! However, I put it on and sometimes I can't see where I put it. I find if I blend it out too much it does turn a bit orangey, maybe even sunburn esq. I think I like it though. But then again its hard for me to find a bronzer that doesn't break me out as all the previous ones have. I also have very oily skin and this makes my skin look oilier sooner, probably because of the shimmer. I'm a bit torn.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Jasmine
NikkiatMAC 6/4/2010 2:36:00 AM
This is my first product I've tried from Korres, and I have to say I'm quite pleased. I like knowing my products are more naturally derived yet still perform how they should. I admit this product is pricy for a lip balm ($13 Cnd), but I had a discount to use, so why not give it a try. Well, I am glad I did. It has such a yummy cotton candy scent and it's very creamy and smooth to apply. I find it is non-sticky and moisturizes well. If I wear this under my MAC lipglasses it actually makes them feel less sticky. So all in all I really am happy with this. It also lasts a lot longer than I would have thought. So far two months and I have over half of it left.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sand & Sun
NikkiatMAC 6/1/2010 1:56:00 AM
This is the matte eyeshadow from MAC's To The Beach collection. It's a light peach that goes on smooth and evenly. I find on my skin tone it shows up really well. I have heard darker skin tones have trouble with this showing up. It is quite a pretty color, and I find it goes well with the coral colors of the season. I've been wearing it all over the lid with Hey to highlight, a bit of Club in the crease, and heavy dark brown eyeliner. Love it! Very happy with my purchase. Gave it 4/5 because I don't think the color is all that unique or amazing, but if you don't have anything like it and need it, go for it!
