Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lansinoh Lanolin
NikkiEBright 3/18/2011 8:02:00 AM
I too thought I was the only one using this as a lip balm! I started using this in 2009 after the birth of my 1st baby to protect my nipples as she was exclusively breastfed (as a side note I never had cracked or sore nipples thanks to Lansinoh). My lips were really cracked & dry after my c-section & I couldn't find my usual Blistex, so I put a little of this on before I went to bed & when I woke up my lips were magically healed. My daughter also got a nursing blister on her top lip a few days after she was born & my midwife suggested I put a little Lansinoh on her lips before a feed & it was gone within a few days. I'm still using it now as nothing else can make my lips as smooth & hydrated as this & I still use it on my daughter if she has dry lips. Lansinoh works fantastically, it isn't sticky, stays on through eating & drinking & has no added nasties, just pure medical grade lanolin. It really is amazing stuff!

Primer/ Corrector -Rimmel - Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
NikkiEBright 2/5/2011 10:18:00 AM
I have used this primer for about 4 months & although it works wonderfully sadly its not for me. Fix & perfect keeps my skin oil free, my foundation applies smoothly & the peach tone evens out my complexion. However, I react badly to the silicone in this product & get a pimple every time I use it no matter how well I cleanse (I'm not prone to breakouts & didn't even have them as a teen). Overall its a good product especially for the price as long & silicones don't upset your skin.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Shine delice lipstick-Raspberry Smoothie

This is such a sad day for me. I have just run out of my last tube of this & since it has been discontinued I will never be able to wear it again. I'm glad I bought up as much as I could while it was still around but that has just delayed the pain. After using this since 2001 I feel like I have lost an old friend. This was my favorite lipstick of all time - applied smoothly & never bled, felt & smelled great on & was a fabulous colour as well. I always received many compliments wearing this & will miss it terribly. If anybody knows of a good dupe please let me know!

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Enriched w/ Minerals
NikkiEBright 2/4/2011 10:15:00 PM
Of all the "drugstore" foundations I have tried this is one of the best. It gives me natural medium to full coverage & blends into my skin really well. The price is fantastic & I have 2 shades that match my skin tone (100 for winter & 200 for summer). My only complaint would be that some days I apply it & its flawless, others it can become patchy & oxidize after a few hours - perhaps it is affected by the weather. *EDIT* I won't be repurchasing this as it has far to many nasties for my liking & Rimmel test on animals.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks
NikkiEBright 3/3/2010 8:16:00 AM
First off let me say how sorry I am to all the ladies this didn't work for, Im sure there is a cream out there that can help & as a nurse I can tell you that they will at least lessen over time. Sadly it is true that whether you get stretch marks or not is dictated by your genes, but keeping your skin well moisturized does lessen the damage. I started using this lotion when I was 13 weeks pregnant as I was worried about stretch marks, although I am quite tall (5'9") I am a very slim build & at 13 weeks already had quite a baby bump. I massaged this lotion onto my stomach, thighs, hips & breasts morning & night all through my pregnancy. My husband also gave me massages with it & it was a wonderful bonding experience for my husband, baby & I. If the only good thing to come out of it was how much time we spent bonding & touching our baby before she was born it was more than worth it. But I also didn't get a single stretch mark through my entire pregnancy, & by 40 weeks my baby bump was enormous - I looked like I was going to burst. After my daughter was born I continued using this Palmer's lotion morning & night & still didn't have any stretch marks. My daughter is 8 months old now, I have no stretch marks & Im still using this lotion at night. I also have been rubbing it on my c-section scar & it has healed remarkably well, I could not be happier. I would say that I disliked the smell at first & was worried about putting it on my skin as it became extremely sensitive during pregnancy (I had to use baby bath as a cleanser & couldn't wear eye make-up) but the Palmer's lotion never irritated my skin & felt beautiful on. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again or to recommend it to anybody else.

Moisturizers -Olay - Olay Total Effects First 7x First Effects Daily Moisturiser
NikkiEBright 3/3/2010 6:44:00 AM
I have been using this moisturizer for a month now & I am pretty happy with it. My skin looks & feels much better since using it & my husband has said how soft my skin feels & how "healthy" it looks. Here is how it measures up to its claims: 1. Line minimization - I am 24 & I don't have any fine lines yet so I'm afraid I can't comment on this. 2. Nourishing moisturization - I have found this to be true, my skin feels moisturized all day & has no dry areas, it also seems to have balanced out my sometimes oily t-zone. 3. Tone enhancement - I have noticed a real difference here, my skin tone appears much more even. 4. Gentle exfoliation - I also found this to be true, my skin feels & looks a lot smoother & softer. 5. Pore refinement - I have to say I see no real difference here, but I don't really have a problem with large pores. 6. Anti-oxidants (protects skins moisture barrier) - I'm really not too sure about this one but it does keep my skin nicely moisturized & to that end must protect it to some extent. 7. Subtle lifting - This has been true for me too, my skin feels & looks firmer & fuller somehow, which does give my face a little "lift". All in all I think this is a good product for a good price & can even compete with some of the high end creams I have tried which although they moisturized beautifully did tend to break me out because they are so heavy. * Lipstick off as Olay test on animals & use some questionable chemicals in this product - due to this I will not be repurchasing.
