Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 1 of 5

Okay... for the life of me I can't figure out why this product is often considered a cult favorite. This mascara has been around so long and on so many best mascara's list. I thought this was a no brainer when I bought it, thinking it would have to work. But in my opinion Maybelline has much better mascara's then this. No matter how I tried to apply this (wiggling the wand, blinking through, etc.) it just would not make my lashes bigger. And it clumped like hell also.

Lips -C.O. Bigelow - Lemon Lip Balm
rated 4 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/7/2013 6:18:00 AM

I've only bought this once because of the price $7.50. But I really loved this! I wouldn't recommend if your lips get really chapped and dry, or if they crack and bleed. This isn't potent enough for that. But its the only lip balm I've used that makes my lips baby soft and supple, and I've tried a lot of lip balms. The smell is great, it smells like lemon but it has a sweet side to it. Taste like lemon as well but also with a sweet side with no tartness. It gives a nice little shine to the lips. Within having this I notice the black letters on the tube wear off after a little while. My only complaints are I wish it had SPF in it and it was cheaper. When I have the money I love purchasing this.

Bath Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Epsom Salts
rated 5 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/7/2013 6:05:00 AM

I haven't been big on taking baths as I've gotten older, mainly just showers. But I've heard they can be good for your state of mind and helping you sleep. I got this for my mom since she's been working out a lot lately and needed something to help with the aches and pains. Then I started using it just out of curiosity. I didn't think taking a bath could be so relaxing. I'll use this even when I'm not in pain. I like experimenting with this and certain essence oils. I'll put 2 1/2 cups of this with 10 drops of lavender oil in a steaming hot bath. I'm half asleep by the time I get out the tub and it relaxes my mind so much I'm knocked out for the whole night. Barely remember what I did the day before.

Treatments -Aphogee - Two-Step Protein Treatment (formerly Treatment for Damaged Hair)
rated 4 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/7/2013 5:51:00 AM

Lately I've only been using this right before I get my sew-in. I love how to reconstructs the hair for up to 6 weeks afterwards. Which is just 2 weeks short of the typical length of time I keep my weave in. I haven't tried using this when wearing my hair on its own but will do it soon and post an update. I definitely recommend putting the formula in a spray bottle, having wet paper towels or washcloths ready to wipe down your neck and wearing clothes you don't particularly care about. Because this stuff will make a mess. It drips and is really sticky. Follow the instructions thoroughly. I know people who wanted to do things their way and use their own conditioner instead of the Balancing Moisturizer that you're supposed to use. Then they complain that the treatment made their hair really dry and straw like. Use the Balancing Moisturizer right after. Rinse it out and if you want use your regular conditioner after that. The smell is another story. Its not great but not so horrible that I wouldn't use it. For such a potent treatment you shouldn't expect it to smell like flowers.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Aveeno Ultra Calming Makeup Removing Wipes
rated 3 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/7/2013 5:32:00 AM

I would by these again to use on my face for those days I'm to exhausted to wash my face and remove my makeup properly. I don't like using these around the eye area just because there's a lot of wiping, pulling and tugging. Just to make sure I can get my waterproof mascara off. I've also used these on days when I went makeup free but was to lazy to wash my face. It did a decent job, I could sometimes see the dirt on the wipes. You won't have to worry about these drying out in the package, they have a plastic snap closure at the top. Instead of the typical sticky piece of thin plastic you just pull over and hope it stays.

Eye Makeup Remover -Maybelline - Clean Express! Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover Ultra Gentle
rated 4 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/7/2013 5:17:00 AM

It doesn't completely wipe away my makeup in one swipe. Even though I still have to rub my eye area a bit it isn't as excessive as I've had to do before with other removers. I just the let the formula sit there for a few seconds and when I wipe most of my mascara is gone. Even when all I'm wearing is 3 coats of waterproof mascara, I usually have to go over my eye area 3 or 4 times. Sometimes using more product each time. Just to make sure its all gone. It can get a bit greasy but nothing water can't get rid of. I love that its fragrance free and gentle on the eyes. This is one remover that hasn't burned, irritated, stung, left a film or given me momentary fuzzy and blind spots after using it. My eyes feel fine. The packaging is cute, which is one of the reasons why I was attracted to it. But from how the bottle is designed and where the opening is positioned I noticed the remover will run down the sides and drip sometimes. No matter how carefully you try to pour it. Its a recipe for using more product then you might need. I like how the opening in the top is big enough to fit a Q-Tip down into the bottle. Which is great for fixing mistakes and getting rid of mascara residue under the eyes. Without having to use too much product. I hope they make this in bigger bottles because I can see myself running out by the end of the month. I don't recommend extending this past your eyes though, it can get a bit greasy. I don't think it would work great as far getting into your pores and removing liquid foundation. I think you might get more bang for your buck with the 3-in-1 Makeup Removing Lotion.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
rated 3 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/4/2013 2:33:00 PM

I know you can't expect much shade variety when it comes to BB creams but I was hoping there would be a little more choices coming from Maybelline. I got the Medium/Deep Sheer tint thinking it'd be perfect for me but its still to dark. Actually it depends on the lighting. In natural light it makes me appear a bit darker and in artificial lighting it seems to match. The Medium is to light for me so I'm thinking about mixing the two and see if that works. I don't agree with the "blur imperfections" bit. It really is very sheer, my only problem is my big pores and it wouldn't cover that. The SPF 30 is bonus and I think this great for just a little glow. I wish the bottle was bigger for the price you pay.

Cleansers -Olay - Shine, Shine Go Away! Shine Minimizing Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/4/2013 2:25:00 PM

Can we get a maybe option on would you buy this again? I have combination/oily skin and I noticed as its slowly been starting to get warmer my T-Zone has been getting more and more oilier. I'm not 100% sold on this cleanser. It smells really strong in the bottle but once you use it, it lessens and smells quite pleasant. It doesn't lather up quite as much as Olay's Foaming Face Wash. I have to use a bit more product with this. While my face does feel cleaner and my pores size is definitely reduced, I think the fragrance in it has been breaking me out a bit. I notice after I use it I'll get some red bumps on my cheeks. Maybe my skin just needs to adjust to it. I'll keep using it till its gone and then see if its worth buying again.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - organic root stimulator- Olive oil hair lotion
rated 2 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/4/2013 1:33:00 AM

The only time this really did something for my hair was when it was really, really dry. Then it would just make it stiff and greasy with no movement. Even when I tried to use less of it, it didn't seem to be enough. Using more of it was too much. Its to heavy of a product for me.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Eye Makeup Remover Lotion
rated 3 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/2/2013 6:13:00 AM

I'm 50/50 on this. I loved that it had cucumber and aloe in it to hydrate the eye area but my overall experience wasn't fantastic. It never removed all my waterproof mascara. I'd go to bed and wake up and still find mascara residue under my eyes. It stung my eyes a little bit and sometimes left a film. My eyesight would be blurry for a little bit.

Mascara -Maybelline - The Falsies Flared Waterproof
rated 2 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/2/2013 6:08:00 AM

No. Just no. I liked how long it made my lashes. I liked how they really did seem to fan out. The waterproof formula was the deal breaker for me. Within a few hours I had raccoon eyes. I would have to carry around some makeup removing wipes in my purse to touchup under my eyes throughout the day.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush
rated 4 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/2/2013 6:03:00 AM

Unlike others I'm happy to say I haven't had a horrible experience with this mascara. Would I call it my HG mascara? No. But I don't think its bad. I definitely prefer this waterproof version over the Falsies which always gave me raccoon eyes. I heard people complaining about the brush. When I bought this I was all set to swap the brush for the one that came with my Flared Falsies but the brush isn't as bad or flimsy as I expected. I disagree with the ads, it doesn't give me plushy, fluffy lashes. But I feel it makes them appear thicker and longer.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
rated 3 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/2/2013 5:58:00 AM

I'm a bit iffy on this product. This is a fun, cute little lip balm especially with the tinted colors. But if you are looking for a genuine lip balm for some serious moisture I just don't think this is it. If your lips are really going through hell being chapped this will do nothing. I like the sheen this gives the lips, its buildable to almost like a sheer lip gloss finish. The SPF 20 is big bonus. I stopped using this because I've heard Maybelline puts lead in their lip balms and if you drink or eat with this on it could get into your system. That just made me feel uncomfortable.

Styling Products -John Frieda - Frizz-Ease Hair Serum
rated 2 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/2/2013 5:38:00 AM

I had high hopes for this and really wanted it to work for me after reading a lot of glowing reviews. This product didn't do anything for my relaxed/transitioning hair. My hair looks no different from when I use this in my hair and when I don't use it. If anything I think it contributes to my hair looking a bit dull after I straighten it. Its a bit thicker in consistency then I thought it would be and weighs my hair down a bit. Most of the time I like a product enough to keep using it until its gone, so I don't waste it. But I'm afraid I'll have to throw this out

Styling Products -Clairol - Herbal Essences Set Me Up Heat Protection Spray
rated 4 of 5
NiecyBaby 4/2/2013 5:31:00 AM

I have noticed that since using this spray there's no smell of burning hair when I use my pressing comb and flat iron. And my family is very thankful or that. I like the mist, since in order to get my hair as straight as possible I have to use as little product as possible. I feel like I can spray as much as I want and not have to worry about it weighing my hair down. The scent is okay, not to annoying but I don't love it either.
