I'm not going to bash this foundation - because I do love Illimasqua , But this foundation just wasn't right for me. My skin is very dry, red, and the texture is a little rough , I mosturized and used a primer , This foundation seemed very watery... It kind of just sat on top of my skin, And felt very slippery almost. My skin showed through horribly, and the coverage was not very good at all . I used a teeny amount at first because it claims to have very Full coverage .. But when I tried to build, it still did not cover like I had expected. I'm sad that it didn't work out for me, because the color matched perfectly . I could see this foundation working great for someone who already has nice/decent skin, and doesn't need to cover up as much. I returned it a Sephora and got my money back.
I wanted to try another foundation That has full coverage but better packaging than the MAC studio fluid foundation I went to the MAC counter in Nordstrom, and a girl recommended studio sculpt liquid foundation. She primed my face, and applied a thin layer of the foundation and added more to areas where I needed more coverage. She used a mineralized skin finish powder over And I loved the way it looked. She matched me perfectly. I love the way it feels on my skin, doesn't feel heavy at all and it doesn't look cakey. It's very buildable, and works as a concealer and foundation which I love. I think it's a great product , the key is to moisturize your skin and use some kind of primer and also, setting it with powder is important especially of you're skin is oily because this does have a bit of a dewy finish , which I like because my skin is dry, but for people with more oily skin , it's important to set with powder.
