Crème -Rimmel - cool matte mousse foundation [DISCONTINUED]

I was previously using Maybelline's version and was almost done with it. What attaracted me to the Rimmel version was the color of the lightest shade which was more yellow based than the Maybelline version. Not a big fan however. The texture of the foundation is more like a heavy gel than a mousse. Coverage is quite light - it doesn't do much more than even out skin tone. And it's really not that matte. While the Maybelline version gives you more of a powdery finish, this one gives you a dewy one. Also, the foundation dries pretty quick and is hard to blend once that happens. Won't repurchase.

I was pleasantly suprised by this cleanser. It's a cream cleanser so I was expecting it to not clean as well as a foaming cleanser but it's been doing the job pretty well so far. It cleanses well and my face doesn't feel at all tight afterwards. I have normal skin. Would repurchase in the colder drier months - not so sure it would be enough for summer though.

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse

This foundation works only if you're well moisturized and using a light hand. The texture can get streaky and build up otherwise. I quite like it - gives a smooth matte appearance. I'm using the lightest shade in the line and it's a little pinker than I would like. Couldn't really tell the shade in the jar when I purchased it. Would repurchase again though - maybe one shade darker and hope it's a little less pink.

I have this in Girlie. I really don't like the texture. Doesn't blend very well and piles on in one spot. I have to use very very little at a time and build it up in order to get a smooth application. Will not repurchase.

Hair Color -Clairol - Natural Instincts Hair Color

Just tried this in Coastal Dune. My natural hair color is a cross between Light Brown and Dark Blonde - has different shades throughout. I had heard that Natural Instincts could lighten hair slightly in spite of its claim that it doesn't so I thought I'd give it a try. The online shade selector suggested Amber Shimmer which was too close to my natural hair color so I decided to pick a lighter shade - Coastal Dune. I wasn't expecting it to lighten my hair to blonde but I was expecting that it would brighten my hair a little. It didn't. My hair is actually a shade darker than I started out with. I'm glad I didn't get Amber Shimmer - who knows how much darker that would have been. I read a review further down from a hair stylist saying that the color grabs dark. So, probably something to look out for when picking a shade. I'm not writing the product off but if I use it again, I'd use it for a more noticeable change, like red.

Lip Treatments -Vaseline - Cherry Lip Therapy

Good stuff - bought it at Target for a dollar. I had a spot on my lower lip that was constantly dry and peeling. This product took care of it and now my lip is smooth again. Nice to put on at night as it leaves lips plump and smooth in the morning. Also gives lips a glossy sheen. Would like a more slanted tip to the tube though - would make spreading it easier. But all in all a good product.

The convenience store in my apartment building started carrying ELF cosmetics so I decided to try this out after reading all the good reviews about it. It's an ok product. It smells good going on and feels nice when it is on but as far as mosturizing properties go, I don't think it's better than your average lip balm. Actually think Chapstick fares better than this. For 2 bucks (convenience store ups the price by a dollar) can't complain too much though.

Cleansers -Dove - Gentle Exfoliating Daily Facial Cleanser

I love this stuff. Foams to a creamy lather with little blue beads in it. I don't think it exfoliates very much but it cleans skin nicely without drying it out - my face does not feel tight at all after using. Will definitely repurchase.

I have this in Black Frost. Didn't like it at all. Is very difficult to control and smears rather than smudges so I couldn't use it as an eyeliner or a shadow. Won't repurchase.

Liquid -Maybelline - Pure Makeup [DISCONTINUED]

I've previously only used L'Oreal Quickstick but found that the color no longer works for me and the formula was giving me too many flakies on my nose so I decided to give a liquid foundation a try instead. I have this in the lightest shade Pure Ivory. I am quite pale and the color is a reasonable match. I feel like it might even be a shade too light so I might go one shade up next time. The coverage is quite sheer and my skin gets a lot shinier at the end of the day compared to when I was using QuickStick. I don't have as many flakies though. Generally, it's okay as a day foundation for a natural look. I'd like something with a little more coverage though. Edit: I went one shade up to #2 Classic Ivory since it's the summer and I'm a little darker. The color is pretty scary coming out of the tube - looks really dark and yellow brown - but, blends well and disappears into my skin. Love the shade!

I have this in Berry. I figured since it was a lip tint, it would be really sheer but it was actually quite pigmented - not what I was looking for. It doesn't moisturize very well and doesn't last very long either. Won't repurchase.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Forever Lipstick in Coral

I'm pale and this one's a little bright - pink with a slight orangy undertone - so I wear it with a little gloss to tone it down. It has pretty good staying power and still leaves a hint of color on the lips even if you haven't touched it up in a while.

I was a little worried about buying this as the package said that the color of the removable paper/foil cover was the color of the product. The cover looked pretty dark but the actual product isn't. It's really sheer and it takes about three coats on my pale skin to get a nice flush. It starts out liquidy and dries to a shimmery finish. Works equally well under or over powder. Overall I like it and would repurchase but it would be nice if it was a little more pigmented.

I have this in Soft Black and I really like it! It doesn't curl my lashes but it does lengthen them, making them darker and more defined. It looks very natural and doesn't clump - I use several light strokes and that does the trick.

I have this in Rose bonne mine which is a shimmery pink color. It gives me a wonderful healthy flush, blends easily and smells good too. I don't like the brush it comes with though - a flat rectangular one that doesn't do a very good job imparting the blush evenly. I highly recommend this product though - just use a different brush.
