Gels/Soaps -Caress - Sheer Twilight
NettabooNOLA 6/21/2011 11:26:00 AM
The scent is described as black orchid & juniper oil scent. It is considered "fine fragrance elixirs". I immediately thought of Tom Ford Black Orchid. It has similarities, but it has a soft, sweet smell. This soap is like no other that I have tried from the super market. It has lingered on my skin for hours. I wish it came with a spray or lotion, so I could complement the scent. But the scent that it leaves behind is pretty noticeable by itself. I paid less that 3 dollars for it from HEB, so the price was great. There was another scent available from this line and it contained patchouli. I purchased it too, but I have not tried it yet. If you like a soft sweet scent that lingers for hours, this is a must try.

Loose Powders -Laura Mercier - Secret Brightening Powder
NettabooNOLA 5/29/2011 11:20:00 PM
I've been using this for nearly a year and I love it. I use it to set under my eyes, around my mouth, and the side of my nose. I'm dark skinned (NARS Shee glow Cadiz), so I purchased #2 and it just a lil more color that #1. It prevents creasing in the areas that I appy it and provides a natural highlight to my under eye area. If you appy too much it can photograph with a white cast, but I never have that issue if I appy a small amount. I use a fluffy eye brush to apply it and works perfectly.

I think this is a great clear lip gloss. I use it as an everyday gloss when I don't want to wear any color, It's not too sticky, but it last on my lips for quite some time. I've worn it under lipsticks and works well as a base. It make colors like Siss apply like a dream. It's not perfect, but one of my favorites.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Crème Smooth Foundation
NettabooNOLA 11/8/2010 11:08:00 PM
I've had this foundation for over a month and I'm not in love with it, It has an ok coverage. I can get better coverage Nars sheer glow. But I do love how it wears. The coverage isn't very mask like. It settles on my skin well. It has a lightweight feel even though it's a creme. I do not like the color selection for darker women. WOC only have 2 shades to choice from. The shade toffee bronze will be a good match for someone who is a lil darker than NC45, but lighter than NC 50. I brought a lighter shade to mix, but it makes me look ashy brown. I have acne-prone skin, but rarely get breakouts from foundations, but this caused a flare up of pimples. I will not repurchase, but I will give it another try then probably swap it away.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Chai lipglass
NettabooNOLA 11/8/2010 11:01:00 PM
This is the perfect nude gloss for me. It tones down my pigmented lips without giving that crackhead look. It looks really nasty in the tube m but on my lips it is a beige carmel color. I've used it with stripdown liner, but liner is not necessary for this gloss. It's not a real special color, but if you are a WOC and looking for a nude gloss.....it's worth a try.

Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Acqua di Gioia EDP

I'm not really good at describing fragrances, but this has quickly jumped to my favorite. I was just sniffing around Sephora and it caught my attention. Since the 1oz was only 39 plus my F&F discount I brought it. Everywhere I wear this to strangers men and women are like you smell amazing. The scent last all day without needing to reapply. I love every note in it from the first spray to the dry down. I'm usually a pink sugar type of girl, but this has a seductive, fresh scent that I love. I've already purchased the 3.7 oz.

Lips -Milani - Lip Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencil
NettabooNOLA 7/13/2010 4:00:00 AM
This is the new full coverage glosses by Milani. I think it was about 8 shades that ranged from light pink to bronzy brown. I picked up the color star flash. It is a lavender based pink. It reminds me of MAC Fashion Mews, but this one has purple reflects in it. The coverage pretty opaque for a gloss and it is not too drying, but a light balm underneath makes for a better application. It is in a pencil form..kinda like NYX jumbo pencils. I have not sharpened it yet, so I'm not sure how it will hold out. I don't care for this particular color much since I don't like lavender based colors that much. But I will be picking up at least one other color I was interested in. The price was $6.99 @ CVS, but it's extra bucks time, so I paid less. If you like sheer color on you lips skip this, but if you like color coverage and a light weight feel..try it.

Blush -MAC - Cantaloupe
NettabooNOLA 7/11/2010 12:41:00 AM
I was didn't know if this would show up on me, but I'm glad I gave it a try. I wear NC44 in Studio Tech, Cadiz Nars Sheer Glow just for reference. Since I brought this over a month ago I have reached for it everyday. It works with my every make up look I do. I use my 136 brush for the best application. It looks great with bronzer or without it. The color is unique to my blush collection... it's not really pink or peach. It shows up on me as a natural looking blush... not that I really blush. It reminds me of a peachier version of Black Radience Soft Honey blush. I actually think I may hit pan on this one.

Lipstick -MAC - Call My Bluff
NettabooNOLA 7/11/2010 12:26:00 AM
I guess I'm the minority here. I love this lipstick...especially with the you've got it creamsheen. I do agree that to color is pretty sheer, but that's one of the reasons I like it so much.. It's not so opaque that I need a liver to blend it in. This color balance off my naturally pigmented lips for a nice nude lip. This nude is not too pink, not too brown, not to pale. It works with my daytime look as well as my going out look. I have used many "WOC nudes" , but this one works better than Siss, Fresh Brew, Underplay, and Freckletone on my pinkish lip color. If you are looking for a naturally muted nude lip...this is for you. if you want super pale lips you should skip this color.

Eyes -Make Up For Ever - Aqua Creams (Multi-Purpose)
NettabooNOLA 6/26/2010 9:39:00 PM
I have brought 4 of these so far. I have 11,12,13,14.... all the natural colors. The first 2 came in the MUFE set form Sephora...one was a taupe like color that made a great day time smokey eye. the other color was a lighter champagne like color.,... i really like this a a highlight color ( it just has to be blended). The other 2 colors were the copper one and the chocolate brown. The copper one is shimmery, but not glittery. The chocolate brown is a dark reddish brown. I had no problems with creasing, but they work best on a primed eye IMO. My finger or a synthetic brush has been the best application for me. I have combined these with powder shadows with no issues. If used on the lips a clear gloss underneath is a must. Lip balm is ok, but they apply much better with a clear gloss. The pigmentation is great no issues with color showing up on my skin (NC44 Studio Tech)

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #136 Large Powder/Blush Brush
NettabooNOLA 3/8/2010 4:11:00 AM
This is one of my most used brushes. I use it loose powder, pressed powder, bronzer, blush. This is the only brush I use for blush....it deposits the perfect amount of color and blends it well. I like it for setting powder because it doesn't disrupt my foundation. I have used this brush for over a year and it doesn't shed too much. The Stilia #8 is a really close dupe. But the Stila one is softer. However softer isn't better my case with this brush.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Chic Couple
NettabooNOLA 3/5/2010 1:11:00 AM
This color reminds me of a softer looking NARS Taj Mahal. It really gives my NC44/45 skin such a pretty glow. It is pretty pigmented, so you don't have to use a ton. The shimmer in it is really fine...no chunky glitter. This is the only one I picked up. I think it will be the most natural looking for WOC. But any skintone could pull it off easily.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
NettabooNOLA 11/16/2009 4:44:00 AM
I have used a few eye primers and I feel this one works best. I don't wear eyeshadow everyday, but I like to use this under my foundation. My eyelids are so oily that my foundation will crease by the end of the day. THis is sheer and it keeps my eyelids matte. It works well with shadow too, but it's the best primer under my foundation.

Fragrances -Soap and Glory - Eau De Soap & Glory
NettabooNOLA 11/6/2009 4:37:00 AM
I found this at Target for $28. It is a nice fragrance....smells just like Mist you madly, but the dry down is better. It has a soft floral sweet smell after a few hours. I wish the scent was the same as Righteous Butter, but they may do that scent next.

Blush -MAC - Superdupernatural - Holiday 2009
NettabooNOLA 10/23/2009 1:44:00 PM
This blush gives my NC 44/45 skin the most natural looking glow I ever seen. I usually go for brown tone blushes, but after I swatched this I had to try it on. It reminds me of Eversun, but it shows up better. This and boy bait are the only things I v=brought fromt he holiday collection. This blush is not chunky feeling at all. And it real hard to overdue it.
