Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque

First off, I LOVE THIS MASQUE! It is a bit hokey, and people don't often trust things that come from drugstores or the ghetto... but we swear by this. Everytime I am PMSing and my skin goes to crap because of everything. I pull this little baby out and I follow my regime. 1. I wash my face with whatever soap i'm using 2. I use queen helene's Honey Oatmeal Scrub 3. Apply Mint Julep and leave it as long as it will last 4. Rinse and slather face with moisturizer while still damp ( I have normal/dry skin) I swear within a day or so... my skin is clear, the blotchiness goes away and my pores and lines are MUCH smaller. This masque is a lifesaver. I was a big fan of a similar clay masque that had Rosemary but they no longer make it.. this stuff... has making its way around discount stores and ghettos for years and we SWEAR BY IT!!! It is the best 3 bucks you will spend for no frills beauty, especially in this economy. I also like to punch it up by mixing in avocado, olive oil or cucumber... great for the summer!

Makeup Brushes -Essence of Beauty - Kabuki Brush
Nephyrwynn 11/6/2008 3:37:00 PM
This Kabuki is Amazing! Simply Amazing... I was really skeptical and I was really close to purchasing Chanel's Kabuki or MAC's (which I love) I use Prescriptives All-Over Mineral Makeup and this thing works great. It is very dense and soft, I prefer it to Bare Escentuals Kabuki..which in my opinion is scratchy and sheds WAY more than this gem. For CVS this is great stuff and I am sad they didn't carry this stuff years ago. I've compared it with some other brushes... and I really like these for the price... because honestly... all brushes even from high end store are mostly made in CHINA and you pay for the name... its ridiculous. Any makeup person knows that its not the tools...its the artist! Love this thing!

Styling Products -Nexxus - Versastyler

Let me start off by saying I LOOOVE THIS STUFF! I'm not a big fan of salon products because I find them overpriced, ineffective, and way too kitschy. I have very thick, frizzy, puertorican curly hair. I was so used to controlling it with Aquanet and White Rain... and then I found this wonder when my hairstylist neighbor used it on me at 14. Pros: It Smells GREAT and Clean, I get many compliments on that -Works Very Well with heat styling, If I use this stuff with a diffuser, I will have nice bouncy ringlets as opposed to sausage noodles i'm used to with no definition Light weight, and very easy to spread through hair, Mine is mid back so its very important. When used in tandem with hairspray, you get some great scrunch. Lasts for months if you are careful CONS: Very runny, with no thick consistancy to it Kinda Pricey, unless you get the HUGE stylist size s for 20 bucks at a large chain beauty supply ( Sally's doesn't Carry It) Hard to Find- Not every one carrys the decent size bottles Other than that, I would higlhly reccomend this product for luminescent curls, it even helps with straightening! I haven't found another product , not even glazes that has the elasticity of this product. I even find it makes a great curl Creme when mixed 2 parts conditioner, 1 part versastylerm and wonderous results!

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Pads
Nephyrwynn 6/22/2007 7:44:00 PM
This product is good for when you REALLY need to get something off. I am theater actress and am quite used to THICK pancakey eyemakeup. If you have the sahara desert on your eyelids or enzcema .. this stuff is great.. Pros: Quick, easy to grab in a rush Cons: Oily as HELL! WILL STAIN PRETTY CLOTHES!! ( I ruined 2 shirts with this crap), You must wipe down with tissue. The really crappy part is you can't go to bed in peace, you have to wash your face, and forget it if you took it off for make up reapplication. Your eyeshadow will clump and crease and even Ivory soap won't take this crap off.. Stay away if you like clean feeling. Honestly.. For 8 Bucks.. you are better off spending 2 bucks and getting real baby oil and a cotton swab, because it works EXACTLY THE SAME- TRIED AND TRUE!! Next Time, I believe I will stick with Lancome's Eye Remover LOVE IT..
