Powder -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup

I adore this powder and will keep buying it again and again. I have serious acne scars and this covers them right up, it really is pretty amazing. If you need good coverage that still looks natural, this is the product to get.

Eye Primer -Trish McEvoy - Eye Base
rated 5 of 5

This was one of those impulse purchases that I got talked into by a SA; they usually never work out but this totally did and I know I'll be buying it again. This eye base makes the world of a difference in how my eye shadow goes on and stays. I can count on 10 hours of crease-less-ness, and that's no small thing. Thumbs up from me.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
Natasha79 8/15/2006 10:34:00 AM

I am not sure why this mascara didn't get better reviews. I got fed up with cheapie drugstore ones that dry up and flake, and decided to try this. As it happens, the first day I used this mascara ended up being a total sobfest and Hypnose Waterproof saved the day! No signs of damage whatsoever. The stuff stays on your lashes (as opposed to traveling all over my face which other mascaras always tend to do on me) and gives my lashes curl and volume. The only downside is that it's a tad hard to remove, which is why I am giving it 4 lippies instead of 5. I will buy again for sure.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
rated 2 of 5

I wanted to like this mascara, I really did. But all it did was smudge during application, and flake a couple hours later which caused black flakes to settle in my undereye wrinkles. So attractive! (not!!) I wouldn't buy this again and wouldn't recommend it. The search for a perfect mascara continues.

Shampoo -Garnier - Fructis Shampoo - Dry & Damaged
rated 4 of 5
Natasha79 4/29/2006 6:22:00 PM

I am surprised this product got such lousy reviews. I've been a faithful user of this shampoo for the last two years and it has almost become my HG. I use the matching conditioner as well, and they make my frizzy hair soft and manageable without weighing it down. I do get build-up from all the styling products I use, and for that I must resort to a different clarifying shampoo every 2 weeks. But otherwise this is great stuff.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rated 5 of 5
Natasha79 6/23/2005 10:32:00 PM

I just used this product for the second time, and I must say I am pretty impressed. If all drugstore products worked this well... I'd be saving a lot of money!:) I have horribe skin with every problem in the book: dryness, enlarged pores, blackheads, breakouts on the chin, and raised scars from 13 long (and going strong) years of acne. I've had moderate results from retin-a and clindomycin, but still need lots of help, so I figured I'd try this, I've just got nothing to lose at this point besides the $4 price tag. I was pleasantly surprised to find that 15 minutes with this mask really shrunk my pores. The blackheads are still there--after all this is just a mask, not magic--but they are a lot less obvious. My skin feels smoother, softer, and the scars appear to be somewhat paler and less raised. On the flipside, I agree with reviewers who said the packaging sucks, it's a PITA to squeeze the product out, and I've got pretty much a full bottle. I also find it somewhat uncomfortable to sit with a mask for 20 minutes, it feels slightly itchy, tight and just not particularly pleasant. But that's a small price to pay if it continues giving me the same results. Overall a winner.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Luscious Curls
rated 4 of 5
Natasha79 6/19/2005 8:43:00 PM

This is a nice, though ridiculously expensive product. I love that it gives my curly, coarse, frizzy (but thin) hair some nice shape and definition. There isn't a ton of hold, and it doesn't do much for frizz on those humid days. That's why I use it in combination with Fructis serum and bumble thickening spray. This combo works really, really well for me. I'll probably repurchase--even though I am appaled at the price.

Polishes -OPI - Suzi Sells Sushi By The Seashore
rated 5 of 5
Natasha79 4/28/2005 9:29:00 PM

This is one of my favorite nailpolishes. I love OPI quality in general, but this color looks like it was made for me! A perfect pinky beige with just the right amount of shimmer, and very flattering for my ghastly pale skin. Super appropriate for the office and totally not boring . Get this one if you haven't yet!

Shampoo -Pantene - Brunette Expressions Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Natasha79 3/21/2005 9:09:00 AM

I don't know if I am the right person to review these shampoo and conditioner, being that my hair is 90% virgin (just a few inches of left-over highlights, and otherwise natural brown), but it has by far surpassed my expectations. I've used Pantene products before and always had a "eh" reaction to them. There weren't bad enough for me to stop using them, but never really impressed me either. Not so with this one! It leaves my coarse, frizzy but thin hair soft, shiny and with a ton of volume. The best thing is that I can go the 2nd day without washing my hair and it still looks great. I am not noticing any changes to my color, but that's totally fine as I didn't expect or want any. Definitely recommend this duo to anyone.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
rated 5 of 5
Natasha79 3/21/2005 9:03:00 AM

I absolutely adore this lotion. It smells amazing, moisturizes very well, and just has a nice, light feel to it. Not goopy at all, and just the right consistency. It does the job much better than the department store brands. Definitely a keeper. EDITED: As much as I love this lotion, I must be allergic to it. I've used it for a month with no problem, but all of a sudden it started making me very itchy. That's too bad because I really liked it! :(

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Sleek and Shine Weightless Anti-Frizz Serum
rated 4 of 5
Natasha79 3/12/2005 12:03:00 PM

Not bad, especially for the price. You have to go easy on how much you use because this product is pretty heavy, but in the right (small) quantities it kills the frizzies without weighing hair down. It is actually performing on par with more expensive salon products. For reference, I use it on my very frizzy, shoulderlength hair when it is damp. I never blow dry it straight. The result is nice smooth waves.

Shampoo -Garnier - Sleek and Shine
rated 3 of 5
Natasha79 3/12/2005 11:58:00 AM

While this shampoo was adequate, it didn't wow me or anything like that. I am always on the hunt for something that would calm down the frizz but not kill the curl at the same time. My hair had no body at all after using this product. It was almost straight (but not in a good way) and flat. It's possible that this works better for folks who straighten their hair, so perhaps I am not giving it enough credit. On the bright side, my brother really likes it, so it certainly didn't go to waste. I wouldn't buy it again though.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Orgasm
rated 3 of 5
Natasha79 2/12/2005 9:12:00 PM

I knew I had to have this gloss as soon as I heard it was released, so I think I ended up buying it more for the hype than for the product itself *hangs head in shame*. The color is exactly like the blush, which in theory is nice, but in practice it's a tad too peachy for my pale skin. It will be probably be fine in the summer, and for now I am salvaging it by wearing over Estee Lauder lip pencil in Rose Writer, which makes it more pink and thus more wearable for me. I'll use it up, but don't think I'll buy it again.

Shampoo -Suave - Daily Clarifying Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Natasha79 2/12/2005 9:08:00 PM

I discovered this shampoo thanks to the ladies of MUA and I must admit that this stuff is much, much better than Bumble & Bumble's Sunday shampoo at a tiny fraction (like 1/20th) of the price. My hair feels fresh and rejuvenated. I will keep using this for sure.
