Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Alverde Calendula Lip Balm
Nata 10/28/2008 7:27:00 PM
Love this balm! I agree with all reviewes - it's natural, healing, tastes good, keeps lips moisturized and doesn't melt or break in the tube. This is an awesome product and I wish I new it when I picked it up in DM store... I'd stock up for the years to come... But if you live in Germany, Austira and Chech Republic - run to your local DM store and get this gem.

Skincare - Body -Weleda - Foot Balm
Nata 10/17/2008 7:19:00 PM
I was in Germany this summer and after one long hot day walking in very uncomfortable shoes my feet were a mess - blistered, bleeding... I got this cream in the DM drugstore (it has camphore in it - thought it will help to cool down my pain). This cream was a big surprize - it healed my feet in 2 days and in addition softened them a lot. It absorbs fast - no need to put socks, smeels fresh keeps my feeet dry and works great. I use foot file much less, since my feet are much softer now. It's 6 EUR in Germany and little under $17 CAN in my local health food store. I'd recommend it to anyone and will never be without it myself.

Cleansers -Vichy - Purete Thermale Cleansing Micellar Lotion for face and eyes
Nata 8/27/2008 9:01:00 PM
I re-purchesed this cleanser many times. I went trough LITERS of it. It was re-packaged, re-formulated and it seems that I buy it forever. I use it as a pre-cleanser step to remove my sunscreen and make-up in the evening. After that I use rinse-off foaming cleansers (like the feel of them, but they a not always take off my mascara and liner). Sometimes it comes in the pump dispenser, double size and at the great discount. I never had a reaction to this product and while I am not a fan of Vichy in general I stay very loyal to this product.

Mascara -Revlon - Beyond Natural Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
Nata 8/27/2008 8:50:00 PM
Nothing too special for me here... It goes natural only if appied lightly, after two coats - WOW, here is Mascara on my lashes (which is not natural at all). I got dark brown color. If appled lightly it doesn't clump, slight smudges appeared only at the end of a day. I find that this is pretty average mascara and too expensive for the brand. I still can not find something to beat Natural Glossy Mascara by Clinique for me. I don't even understand, why do I try?..

Lip Treatments -Nuxe - Reve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm with Honey and Precious Oils
Nata 8/27/2008 8:44:00 PM
I just finished a jar of this balm (it took me a YEAR). Well, it is great product. It never failed to heel my lips from chapping, dryness and flakiness. It doesn't feel very good and it is not a good base for a lipstick, BUT it works very well as a night treatment. Few weeks ago I had 11 hours' flight and forgot to take a lip balm on the plane. As a result my lips were dry, peeling and even bleeding... After trying everything for three days, I found some of the Nuxe honey balm left, applied it in the evening and the next morning my lips were just fine - not a sign of the damage! I don't mind a jar packaging, waxy texture and feel - it is must have for the canadian winter and for anyone who has problem dry lips. Will I buy it again? O, yes.

Lip Treatments -mark - Kiss Therapy Super Soothing Lip Balm [DISCONTINUED]
Nata 1/3/2008 9:54:00 AM
Didn't work for me. I gave it few chances, but it's very drying: creates some vaseline-like layer on my lips, but lips feel and look paper-dry. It's $5CAN and not worth these money. Where is a "soothing therapy"? I have this balm in pink (gives no tints at all) and bought after reading good reviews here. Unfortunately I can not deal with tin packaging that looks cute, but impossible to open (hey, it's XXI century and there are so many more convenient options out there) and totally useless product inside. PS lip balms I love: Clinique Superbalm in clear, Caudalie, Vichy Oligo 25.

Skincare - Face -Dr. Denese - HydroShield Ultra Moisturizing Face Serum
Nata 4/7/2007 12:30:00 PM
I really like this product. It helped to fight dryness I had in my eye area. I have combination skin and use it only around my eyes and on cheeks/neck in the morning before Dr Denese SPF 30 day cream. This serum will not be good for oily areas, but for normal to dry it's a very good treatment. The texture is "silicony", similar to Elizabeth Arden's ceramide capsules, it leaves matte finish and provides day long hydration. You don't have this "my skin is drinking" feel like after applying some water-based gels, that hydrate you for few hours and you want to "slap" more again. I noticed that my skin generally is better texturized and more even looking after six months of Dr Denese rutine. I suggest reading her book to get better understanding of her approach to the skin care. I really liked her point that products that actally work don't always feel good. They might tingle (acids) or be a bit drying (retinoids). It took me a while to get used to the "feel" of her products, but honestly, I'm loving them. Packaging is a boring cobalt dropper bottle. I like beautful jars and bottles of some other lines, but I can live with way too simple packaging of Dr Denese products - for me they deliver results.

Palettes -Bobbi Brown - Living Beauty Palette
Nata 3/23/2007 3:57:00 PM
Great palette. Colors are basic - something you will use for the polished daily look. But... no value for your money. Each eyeshadow is 0.7g, blush is 1g each. I bought it anyways, good for travel, but BB's palettes become smaller and smaller...

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere
Nata 3/20/2007 12:35:00 PM
I tried this foundation some time ago, found it too oily and put it up for swap. Then when the weather became colder I tried it again and really like it. This foundation gives you that healthy look that no highlighter is needed.I found that the best application is not to use a brush or sponge, but apply it by "patting" it into the face. This way no flakiness is showing up and product goes on very even. My shade is Cameo (MAC 20). It's not for someone with oily skin. Not sure if I will buy it again - looks like this product will last forever.

Skincare - Face -Dr. Denese - Exfoliating Facial Firming Pads
Nata 12/24/2006 6:29:00 PM
I really like these pads. I'm using them for the last two months and my skin is much smoother - some bumpiness I had is didminished alot. I got some reaction when I just started using them, but after I cut use to every other day my skin adjusted and now I'm using the pads every night and loving the results. A bit expensive to buy separately, I'm getting them only as a part of the kit.

Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - AHA Souffle 12 percent Glycolic AHA
Nata 9/17/2006 5:39:00 PM
I used to use the old version of the 10% gel (which is no longer in production) and it worked for me very well. This new 12% cream broke me out after two days of use. I wish that I could buy the older gel... I didn't like jar packaging to.

Treatments -Origins - Dr Weil Plantidote Mega Mushroom Face Serum
Nata 12/18/2005 10:59:00 AM
Well, I thought it's a time for me to review Plantidote. I'm using this serum ones a day for the last 3 weeks. Main reason I bought it - I had very bad allergic reaction on DDF 10% AHA Toner (red painful rush, I looked like some scaly reptile). I've heard that this serum is marketed as anti-inflamatory treatment and may help to calm my skin. My local Origins didn't have any samples (they never do), and I just boght it, thinking to return if the product will not meet my needs. It did the job. My skin was back to normal overnight. I'm still using it every morning before my usual moisturizer (I use Retin A nightly). It doesnt make my combo skin more oily than it usually is. Scent is strong, but doesn't linger. My skin doesn't look great this season, it's a bit dehydrated and a bit dull, but mostly because of stress and not perfect nutrition. The serum didn't break me out, and I think after three weeks of use it's too early to expect any long-term results. I can not comment on anti-aging properties of this serum yet, but I will buy the cream which comes out this months. Edit: Dec 1, 2006. I changed my opinion after finishing the bottle several months ago. This is just nice moisturizer with no long term results. It was calming, but that's it. No anti-aging properties. I'm not buying it again and changing my rating to the lower one (no longer five lippies from me)

Mascara -Clinique - Long Pretty Lashes Mascara
Nata 11/10/2005 6:55:00 PM
Well, you will get long and pretty lashes. No volume though, and you will see it's running (slightly) uder your eyes by mid-day. You can find better mascara for this money. I like my Natural Glossy from Clinique and will not re-purchase Long Pretty Lashes.

Lipstick -Arcancil - Sparkling Lipstick - Gloss Semi-transparent, 015 Loly Pop
Nata 1/11/2005 10:30:00 AM
Despite the word gloss in the name this lipstick is not very shiny. It's more like sheer and creamy stain. I loved the texture - smooth, good amount of pigment, I didn't feel like I even need a liner, which I usually do with all glosses and sheer lipsticks. No detectable taste, very light scent, Packaging is kind of cheap, but fun - clear cup with silver rings on it, color sticker on the bottom is exact color of the lipstick. Color is, well, loly pop :) Pink-raspberry, looked gorgeous with my winter-pale skin and little dust of Outlaw blush. Applying too much will look "too much", too bright. Didn't dry my lips. I will try other shades, for about $7-9 CAN, why not? Made in Spain, 3.5g

Mascara -Arcancil - Star Matic 050 Ultra Violet
Nata 1/11/2005 10:14:00 AM
This mascara was very nice surprise for me. I like purple-violet mascaras but don't feel like spending on Dior or Chanel - I don't like their quality and a price of course. Arcansil is inexpensive French brand and I picked up few things to try it. I like the mascara! It didn't clump, went on pretty smooth and color, when dried, was subtle - hint of violet to make my hazel eyes pop. I accidentally rubbed my eyes and thought that I'll need to wash it. Nope, it is smudge-proof as well. It comes in different shades and for about $9 CAN it's great. 7.5m, made in Italy, promices lenght-color-long-lasting
