Mascara -Cover Girl - Volume Exact [DISCONTINUED]

I LOVE this mascara! I have thin, light-colored, mostly straight lashes that disappear when I am not wearing mascara. Wearing this mascara turns it all around, though. It really brings out my lashes, lengthens them, and curls them too! I always start out by brushing the mascara on the top of the lashes, then underneath and curling up. I can brush on some light coats and make my lashes look very natural (nice separation), or I can layer it on without being goopy and get some really great evening lashes. I never use a lash curler, but I don't have to with this eyeliner, as it does double duty. This mascara washes off very easily, but doesn't rub off during the day. Note: Once I've had this mascara for nearly 2 months, it definitely starts to flake (it gets old around that time for me). It doesn't flake during the 2 months, though, as long as I finish my coats before it is completely dry. Also, it is always a little bit thin for the first few days of use after opening. Then, the air dries it out ever so slightly, and it is perfect for nearly 2 months! I never have a "bad lash day" with this mascara!

Masks -H20 - Sea Mineral mud mask

I love this very blue mask! (Kinda scary, if someone else is going to see you, but kinda funny, actually.) Yes, it definitely tingles when you put it on, but it has never irritated my sensitive skin, nor dried it out, nor made it break out. It actually makes my skin feel really smooth, and seems to clean it out pretty well. I've tried other clay masks, but I always seem to come back to this one, though I do tend to wait for a sale or a shipping special.

Moisturizers -H20 - Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment
rated 4 of 5

I was able to try a sample of this skin cream, and I must say I absolutely love it! Well, except for the "Nutri-Spheres" - their shells leaves an odd residue, so I pick them out. (I'd take off 1/2 star for that, if I could.) Without the spheres, though, the cream is amazing! It provides excellent hydration for my dry, sensitive skin, plumping up my fine lines and even diminishing my visible pores! It isn't too much hydration for summertime usage, for me anyway, even though it is perfect for winter. Plus, it doesn't have SPF, which my sensitive skin and eyes absolutely hate, so that is a plus. I had loved another face cream for a very long time, but this one is definitely worth switching to. I'm hooked!

Conditioner -Shiseido - Tsubaki Conditioner
rated 4 of 5

I love this conditioner (with its coordinating shampoo, both in the damage care versions - white bottle) during the winter. Without it, my fine, wavy hair gets the frizzies! The smell is wonderful (and I'm not a fan of fragrance, typically), and my hair really feels moisturized with no strange waxy feeling that others have mentioned (maybe it's a water softness/hardness thing?) On occasion, I mix Image InterKera with this conditioner, and I get fantastically soft, yet full-bodied hair, which seems nearly impossible for fine hair, usually. I will definitely always go back to this one in the winter when my hair needs the most moisture!

Shampoo -Shiseido - Tsubaki Shampoo
rated 4 of 5

To start, I love the fragrance of this shampoo!! I'm not a real fragrance fan, but this is wonderful. It also moisturizes my hair while I shampoo without a lot of buildup (I use baking soda with this shampoo once a week to get product out of my hair anyway, so I haven't noticed buildup from this shampoo). My hair does feel somewhat moisturized after using it, but I always use the conditioner too. (Both the damage care versions in the white bottle.) I really have to use this shampoo during the winter, otherwise my fine, wavy hair gets the frizzies. It is a bit expensive, but I already have the bottle, so I buy the refill pack (a couple of bucks cheaper for the same amount). Buy it on sale, and it's definitely worth it!

Lips -H20 - Lip Mender
rated 5 of 5

I agree with Princess714 - I too get cracked lips sometimes during the winter, and this is the only thing that makes my lips better. Sometimes, though I love peppermint, I wish that it didn't have a peppermint taste, as I don't necessarily want my lips to feel cool in cold weather. Regardless, it is the only lip gloss/balm I use on a consistent basis. I may flirt with other lip products for color or gloss, but I always go back to this one. It is especially nice for work, as it moisturizes like crazy, but doesn't have a shiny finish. I always have at least two - one for my purse, one for my vanity!

Treatments (Eye) -L'Oreal - skin genesis daily treatment eye serum
rated 4 of 5
NatOna 3/23/2010 3:06:00 AM

I tried a sample of this product and...wow. I've never had an eye cream make my lines look so fine! I was particularly dehydrated, and my fine lines were really showing, but this made them practically go away. I went and bought some right away, and have stuck with it since (at least a year or two now). It can make the skin feel a little tight, as it is plumping the lines, but just a light touch will tell you that the skin isn't dry...just taut. It really hasn't done anything for my hereditary dark circles (from thinning skin), nor does it completely take away my undereye puffiness, but it does better than any other cream at making the lines much, much less noticeable. I like it mainly for the day, as it is only a temporary fix. I use a more moisturizing cream at night, as I haven't yet found my true HG for eyes. I am taking a star off for packaging - though it is nice to have a pump, it doesn't dispense all of the product, leaving me to rip the top off at the very end (I can get at least another 2 weeks worth this way, usually).

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Focus 21 - Sea Plasma All Purpose Hair & Skin Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
NatOna 3/29/2009 4:20:00 PM

This is my all-time favorite versatile product! I use it in my wavy hair for texture and volume when I first style it, then later to revive my waves. I also spray it on my face after finishing application of my makeup to set it (it is great for taking away that powdery look, leaving a finish that is still matte, unless I spray too much, making it dewy). I spray it on my face midday to freshen my face, and I put it in a small, travel-size bottle to spray it on my face during flights to add a little moisture without having to apply face cream (which would ruin my makeup). Additionally, it feels great on skin after a sunburn, though you'll still need aloe if it is a bad burn. I will definitely continue to buy this product, as I use it every day without fail! It smells great, and I can usually find it in the spray bottle and large refill sizes at a nearby beauty supply store. Sometimes, I can find the spray bottle at Safeway, RiteAid, or CVS. Check Amazon too, if you just want to order it online.

Styling Products -Pantene - Curl Shaper Anti-Frizz Cream
rated 4 of 5
NatOna 3/29/2009 4:10:00 PM

I have naturally wavy hair (it is fine and doesn't hold curl so well without product), and this is the best product for it that I have found so far. On its own, it really helps keep my wave without the frizz I usually have. Adding Focus21 Sea Plasma (hair and skin moisturizing spray) to the curl creme also provides some volume/texture (the Sea Plasma has sea salt in it...perhaps any sea salt spray would have this same effect). My usual routine with this product is to mix it with the Sea Plasma in my hand (messy, but effective), scrunch it into my hair, and then comb it through to spread the product evenly. Then, I re-scrunch my hair and dry it with an ionic diffuser. The next day, I just spray in some Sea Plasma and gently scrunch to revive the wave if it has flattened from being slept on. With most products, I cannot revive my hair so well the next day, but this one works great! If I do use too much of this product on my hair, it does tend to get a bit greasy, though. However, I do use quite a bit anyway (6 to 8 pumps!), as I have a lot of hair, though it is particularly fine. I wish I didn't have to use so much product, as I tend to run out of it really fast. Also, without the Sea Plasma, it doesn't give me too much volume, but it seems that's pretty typical of anti-frizz creams. It doesn't weigh my hair down too much, though...otherwise I would end up with heavy hair that doesn't keep its wave at all. Another note is that this product does not make my hair dull, so I end up with healthy-looking, frizz-free waves that feel nice and soft, not crunchy or dry. It also seems to help keep my hair from getting too many tangles, which it is usually prone to at this length (a few inches below my shoulders). Overall, it's a great product that beats everything else I've ever tried.

Cleansers -H20 - h20 cleansing water
rated 4 of 5
NatOna 3/29/2009 3:57:00 PM

I have dry skin, and most cleansers strip way too much moisture, while others leave it moist but do not clean it deep enough (then, I get breakouts). This cleanser removes all makeup gently and effectively, leaving behind a nice, moist feeling. It is my everyday cleansing staple! Like some others, I don't really like how watery the cleanser is when I first dispense it (so I probably end up wasting some of it), but it lathers up well and feels great on my face. If it were a gel, I would give it five stars. Update: When I travel, I find that this cleanser performs differently depending on the hardness/softness of the water. If the water is too hard, it seems that the cleanser can't get a good lather (or any lather, really), so it doesn't cleanse as it is supposed to. If it works well with your water, though, it removes makeup brilliantly, rinses clean, and leaves your face feeling soft.

Cleansers -Biotherm - Hydra Detox Detoxifying Cleansing Foam
rated 5 of 5
NatOna 3/29/2009 3:36:00 PM

I LOVE this cleanser! Unlike most scrubbing cleansers out there, this does not have "microbeads" - it has "microparticles". These microparticles are actually extremely finely ground pumice, and they do a much better job of exfoliating than microbeads, as they very evenly scrub the skin. Surprisingly, these microparticles are also extremely gentle. I have dry/combo skin that is very sensitive and tends to get flaky. Using this cleanser in the morning keeps me from being so flaky, and keeps my skin smooth without overdrying. As with any scrub, it is best to rinse thoroughly and use moisturizers afterward. My only complaint about this product is that, about halfway through the tube, I have a really hard time squeezing it out. Other than that, I am completely hooked, and will continue to use it as a vital step of my daily routine.
