Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Wrinkle Repair night moisturizer

I've been an avid user of Olay's Total effects moisturizer and am very happy with the results from it but after 3 years of continuous use I found it wasn't as effective as when I first began using it so I decided to try something new. I read a lot of positive reviews all over the Internet about Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair and decided to give it a shot. I always give new skin care products a good 6-8 weeks of use before I make a verdict. After the first two and a half weeks I did notice some tiny blemishes (which I read many other users experienced) and some redness. Soon after it went away and I continued use until I ran out of the product. I have to say that I'm not very impressed. My skin looks the same as it did when I used Olay and I didn't notice any improvement in my fine lines. I used the eye cream as well because in the reviews I read I saw that many women who used the moisturizer on their eye area found it made the fine lines and crepeness worse...but I noticed no difference as well. The only positives to this product are the price and that it is an okay moisturizer if you have normal skin. For my combo oily/dry skin it wasn't very effective and don't believe the hype about how it can visibly reduce wrinkles after one week. I recently went to get a facial and the aesthetician there told me never to use drug store brand products or products which advertise all over the place because those brands tend to spend more money on their ads than they do on improving their products.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Jherri Redding One 'n Only Color Fix
rated 4 of 5

I had dyed my hair black a few years ago and eventually grew bored of it and wanted a change. I rarely dye my hair as it is and having to constantly dye it to maintain the colour was starting to do a number on my hair. My hair dresser suggested stripping it and even tried a small section on my hair so I could see what the result would be but I decided against it after I saw how much damage it did. I tried this stuff and it was a god send! My hair is naturally a medium brown and this stuff lightened up back to my natural colour but with a slight reddish tinge which wasn't a big deal since I was so glad the black was gone!. The only down side was that I noticed my hair didn't look so healthy afterwards but that's understandable considering I went from dying it maybe once a year to dying it multiple times then doing this treatment. I used a good protein conditioning mask for a few weeks afterward and laid off the blow dryer and flat iron to give my hair a break. I would definitely recommend going this a try before considering getting your hair stripped.

Treatments -Ion - Color Defense - After-Color Sealing Treatment
rated 5 of 5

I just recently started using Ion products and have been very happy so far. I bought their permanent hair dye and got a bottle of the colour sealer with it as I saw how highly recommended it was. After I rinsed out the dye I towel dried my hair I massaged in the colour sealer and then gently combed it through to make sure all of my hair was covered evenly. I clipped my hair up in a bun and let it sit for a good half hour before rinsing it out. I have to say that this stuff was an amazing last touch to the dye job. It made my hair super soft and shiny and the colour looks beautiful. I dyed my hair a dark brown and normally with a typical drug store box dye, that colour fades considerably after 2 washes even when you use a colour protecting shampoo. It's been a month and my colour still looks the same as it did the day I dyed it. I will definitely be sticking with Ion products from now on! They're really affordable and do an amazing job.

Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation
rated 5 of 5

First let me start by saying I dont have the greatest skin. I suffered from moderate acne from the age of 15 into my early twenties and during that time I tried a multitude of different foundations (liquid and powder) to try and cover it up when I needed to. But nothing ever gave me the right coverage and always ended up looking gross and cakey on my oily areas. I am now 26 and my skin has cleared up but I still have some enlarged pores and oily areas. I bought bare naturals when it first came out on the market. Around this time was when many mineral foundations were being introduced. I tried it and instantly loved it! It is the perfect foundation for my skin. It goes on evenly and covers up my old fading acne scars perfectly as well as masking my pores. It feels so light and the coverage lasts all day. I find I just need to do a light sweep on my t-zone because no matter what I do that area always gets shiny. But it's perfect for my sensitive skin, it's never broken me out or irritated my skin. I do agree with others in that the brush it comes with isn't the greatest so I just use my own kabuki brush. Will definitely continue to use this product and highly recommend giving it a try.

Treatments (Eye) -Olay - Total Effects Eye Transforming Cream
rated 3 of 5

I started using the Olay 7 total effects facial moisturizer over a year ago and decided to try out the eye cream as well as I have never used anything on my eye area before. I am 26 years old and only have very slight fine lines around my eyes. I've been more concerned with combatting the dark circles and puffiness. I agree with other reviewers in that the packaging isn't the greatest. It would be much better and more sanitary if it came in a tube. However I've found a little bit of this product goes a long way and one little jar lasts quite a while. After many months of use I would say the only thing it has done for me is help reduce the dark circles around my eyes. I still see the fine lines and the puffiness hasn't diminished. I don't think I will repurchase as I'd like to give some other products a try.

Shampoo -Ion - Color Solutions - Color Defense
rated 4 of 5
NatNikki 12/10/2011 11:56:00 AM

I've been using this shapoo for about a month now. I did buy the conditioner as well bit quickly found out that I didn't like it. The scent didn't agree with me and I found it left my hair dry. The shampoo however I am really happy with but that hasn't been the case all along. At firt I was experiencing the same problems as others with the shampoo not lathering all that great and a greasy film being left behind. After some trial and error I discover you just have to spend some extra time massaging it into your hair to work up a good lather and rinse it out really well. It's a vegan product so the composition of it is different from most drug store brands. I've found it's really helped remove the buildup from my hair and scalp and has also helped with the itchiness I had (probably from the previous products I used). As for color protection I found it didn't really do the greatest job. My color faded as quickly as it usually does but I think I may try their color sealer the next time I dye. Over all I would say this product it worth a try, it's more natural and paraben free and not filled with all of the harsh chemicals and dyes that the drug store brands have.

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Beauty Bar
rated 5 of 5
NatNikki 12/10/2011 11:43:00 AM

I've been using dove soap for a good 5 years now. I was never a fan of body washes as my skin is sensitive to fragrances and for some reason unscented body washes never left me feeling as clean. I heard alot about how gentle and moisturizing dove was and decides to try it out and haven't looked back since. I use the sensitive skin version and have found that it leaves my skin soft and supple not dry and tight like most soaps. The price is also great, I tend to find it on sale quite often at Wal Mart. I will definitely continue to use this product long term.

Moisturizers -Olay - Total Effects-Fragrance Free
rated 5 of 5
NatNikki 11/10/2011 10:17:00 AM

I'm 26 years old and suffered with moderate acne from the age of 15 into my early twenties which ravaged my skin. It also didn't help that I never knew I had a fragrance allergy and all of those harsh over the counter acne products I was using made things worse. But once I found that out I tried a multitude of different creams suited for my sensitive skin to try and repair the damage. I've tried a lot of products and I mean A LOT. From expensive high end brands to lesser known all natural vegan creams. None of them have given me the results that this stuff has. I know everyone's skin is different so you might not get the best results but I am certainly happy. I would say it took a good 6-8 weeks of use before I started seeing really noticeable results. The texture of my skin became super smooth and felt baby soft for the first time in I don't know how long. I have quite large pores from all those years of having acne and this cream helped reduce their size. I also have combination oily/dry skin and this has helped to keep the shine down and keep my skin feeling soft and supple. I would recommend giving this cream a try if you're curious. You really get excellent results for an excellent price. I couldn't be happier with the way my skin looks now. I thought for sure I would need to get laser treatments or microdermabrasion to make it look the way it does.
