Sunscreen -SkinMedica - Environmental Defense Sunscreen SPF30+

I did not like this sunscreen at all. For starters the texture is odd. Which makes it hard to blend. It has a sunscreen smell to it as well.Lastly the biggest problem I had with it is that it leaves a white cast on my face. The crazy thing is that even people on MUA with fair skin get a cast to their skin with using this product (which is something you rarely hear)! If your looking for a good sunscreen stay clear of this one!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 3 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 1/31/2012 12:39:00 PM

This foundation was okay. When they say colorstay they mean it! I had it on for at least 10hrs and it was still on my face. This foundation stayed on without the use of a setting powder. I think Its great that the foundation comes in two formulations to fit various skin types. A lot of people are claiming this is a full coverage foundation and I am here to say NO IT IS NOT! I have hyperpigmentation along my jaw, its not really dark but darker than my skin of course and the foundation was unable to cover it, but it did minimize the appearance. I also have enlarged pores on my cheeks which were also minimized but not concealed. A full coverage foundation would cover up any imperfections without the need to go over them with a concealer, so in my opinion this is not one but it does have a nice medium coverage. Another thing is that this foundation is very affordable if you pay full price at most you'd pay is $15.99 w/o tax. But the thing is at many drugstores they have 40% off or BOGO 50% off, so you can get it at a really good price and if you don't mind purchasing on Ebay you can buy it in bulk and save even more. I would also like to mention that it is hard to find my shade which is Caramel. I went to various drugstores here in Brooklyn and it was always sold out (this is not influencing my review as I wanted to just mention it). Overall I would say this is a good foundation for those without pigmentation problems who are looking for a long wearing foundation. P.S. I will try to use this again once my skin becomes more even and update this review.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
rated 2 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 11/26/2011 11:47:00 PM

I've had a couple of bad encounters with ELF products and this one is no exception. The most crippling thing about this product is its horrendous packaging; you'll end up losing more than you'll probably get to use! It does a decent job at setting foundation. The product is very very inexpensive and you get a very good amount (3.5g) of product. But I can not get over the great loss of product I get each time I open the jar. I think if your on a tight budget this a decent product but if you can splurge I recommend looking on here for another product with better packaging.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Small Angled Brush
rated 1 of 5

This brush is way too flimsy for anything! I intended to use this brush for lining my upper lash with a cream liner but this brush absorbs too much product as well not providing any control to apply the product. I could not even use it for applying lip products because the brush has no control . I tried to give the brush to a friend of mines for filling in her brows but she did not like it as she found it too flimsy as well. Of course I do not like nor do I recommend this brush.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast Matte Lip Color (2010 reformulation)
rated 5 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 10/10/2011 9:10:00 AM

I brought two of these lipsticks at Rite Aid during their weekly sale (Wet n' Wild was buy one get one 50% off). The shades I got it in were Cherry Bomb and Ravin' Rasin. Cherry bomb is a dark blood red (non oxygenated blood lol), I bought it because I heard it was a dupe to a MAC shade called Prince Noir. Ravin Raisin is a warmed deep mauvey plum. I think both can be universally flattering shades. The formulation of the the lipsticks are great; they have a smooth lightweight texture and wear with a satin finish. The price of the lipsticks at Rite Aid are $2.99 at full price; sometimes they're buy one get one free as well! I think these are a great buy for those looking for great shades and formulation at an affordable price :)

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Eyelash and Brow Wand
rated 4 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 10/1/2011 8:57:00 PM

There's nothing really to this brush, its a wand that can be used on the lashes and brows as the title states. This brush does not have the best construction; mines bent into a right angle but I bent it back vertically. The brush is extremely cheap and at $1 you can afford to buy a couple.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Invigorating Apricot Scrub
rated 2 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 9/22/2011 9:25:00 AM

I bought this out of impulse. I read online that one way to reduce pore size is by exfoliating the skin, so that over time the top layer of the skin would shed off. But with this product I think you may end up doing more damage than good. Like many other reviewers have stated, the product is quite abrasive, so it can tear the skin leading to even larger pores. I think this product maybe good to those who have flaky skin (not caused by a skin condition i.e. eczema, seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis ) because it is tough also when you wash it off it leaves a soft feeling to the skin. Random side note this product smells so good; I wish they'd make a cream/lotion with this fragrance.

Lip Gloss -NYX - dolly pink
rated 5 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 9/19/2011 12:12:00 PM

I love this lipgloss! It is a beautiful hot pink color that looks great on darker skintones ( I am an NC50 in MAC for ref). The gloss is extremely pigmented and goes on smooth w/o a sticky thick feeling like the average gloss. It was also very affordable; I bought mine at a beauty supply store in NYC for $4. This is my second gloss purchase from NYX and I intend to purchase a lot more in the future. One thing that some many not like is that you can not try these on before you purchase and you can not return them once used, so the best bet is to look for swatches online before picking up a shade that's bold and also both of the glosses I purchased go on true to color; so what you see is what you get!

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 9/19/2011 11:59:00 AM

I've tried this cleanser out and I find that it isn't bad. The cleanser does not do anything besides cleansing. It cleanses the skin without stripping it but it also does not add anything to your skin; thus if you were looking to get rid acne or decrease the size of pores, this is not the cleanser for you! There's not much to be said about this cleanser, its affordable and gentle on the skin so I think it is ideal for those with sensitive skin or skin aliments such eczema, psoriasis or what I have seborrheic dermatitis. P.S. the reason why I deducted a lipstick is because I need a cleanser that can improve my skin; I have enlarged pores that I want to reduce as well as some acne.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
rated 3 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 9/12/2011 12:05:00 PM

This brush was just okay for me. I used this brush for the first time since I bought it two months ago when ELF had their 60% off sale for their 7th anniversary; so I paid only 1.20 for the brush. There are pro's and cons to this brush. Pros It's extremely affordable (especially if you get them on sale) It's very soft Its fairly dense Cons It absorbs liquid foundation It splays a bit when trying to buff It sheds a bit when washing (this was the first wash; it shed 3 hairs) It takes a long time to dry due to it's density I think this brush is a pretty good brush. If you are unsure about this brush (I say give it a try) buy it at Target because if you don't like it you can return it. I did not like it as much as I thought, so I may end up giving to a friend.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - Punk Purple
rated 2 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 8/30/2011 4:37:00 PM

I did not like this product; It applies awkwardly. The consistency of the product has a reminiscence of drying elemer's glue. I also find that too much product gets on the brush ( I use the elf smudge brush which works well with my wet n wild creme liner); all I want is the tip to be saturated yet the whole entire brush is. I used more of this product in two applications than I did with my countless usage of the wet n wild creme liner. One thing I can say is that the liner has decent pigmentation ( it shows when swatched on my NC50 skin tone; not very metallic as other another reviewer had stated) but because of the crappy consistency the product skips. The only thing I think this could be good for is as a creme shadow or base. All in all I did not like this product and I am very hesitant on trying other elf creme liners.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Caqui
rated 5 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 8/26/2011 9:49:00 AM

I brought this gloss on a whim. Usually when people say things are universally flattering, most of the time I find they really are not. But this one of those rare occasions where I find it holds much truth. But it is no surprise as this was the intention of the creator of this gloss Lily Nima. On me the gloss is a dark almost burnt orange (I have pigmented purple toned lips btw). I absolutely love this shade so much that I think I will purchase two backups of it; so ladies don't sleep on this!

Lip Gloss -MAC - All of My Purple Life
rated 5 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 8/26/2011 9:38:00 AM

The first time this gloss came around I did not jump on it. I wish I had because I really want a backup badly! Afrobella said she wanted to create the perfect purple for women of color and she did! But don't fuss this lipglass is not only for women of color, lighter skin women can rock this too; you can tone it down or just wear it as is, its really up to you. I commend Patrice for creating this color and for those of you who don't already own this try to get your hands on it is fabulous!

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - Ravishing Raspberry SPF 20
rated 3 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 7/27/2011 12:45:00 PM

This is your standard lip balm in cute packaging. A lot of people have said that this lip balm is thin and "disappears" in less than 5-10 mins of applying, for me its not quite the case. I find this to be very lightweight or thin but it leaves my lips oddly smooth for a while. This lip balm smells wonderful and when applied it has a minty tingling feeling. Another good thing about this balm is that it has an spf of 20, which is good for the heat wave that's been sweeping across the US. One thing I detest about this lip balm is that if it should get into your mouth it has this horrible taste that last a long time.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
rated 5 of 5
Nanaisbeautiful 7/27/2011 12:27:00 PM

I've tried Cetaphil's Moisturizing Lotion and I did not find it to be anything special but this stuff is the bomb! As soon as you put it on it has this really smooth feel. A little goes a long way; you'll use no more than a dime size amount. I bought a 16oz jar of this stuff for $15 plus tax at my local Riteaid. I suggest to get the jar because you get a lot more bang for your buck than the tube which only has 3oz, but I can see people still buying it because of sanitary reasons or for traveling around with. I'd also like to mention that I have not broken out due to using this cream.I've tried it for a while now and I really love it. I recommend this to anyone looking for a moisturizer that moisturizers the skin without causing breakouts or leaving a greasy look or feel.
