Skincare - Face -Evian - le Brumisateur

I use this in place of a toner as I cant find one without one of my "cant haves/allergic to's" in it! I bought the 400ml for £6.99 (approx 13.98 USD) from a local independent chemist. You can get tiny ones for travel, mid sizes and this giant can which works out as the best value. I alternate this with the Vichy water spray which is more expensive and only comes in one size double GRR. I also enjoy using it on a hot day or when my face is hot or if I have prickly heat on my legs its very cooling. I agree with the feeling bad about it as its just water but it does have minerals in it and I would be spending WAY more on toners if it werent for these sprays. I recycle the cans, and at least they dont come in extra cardboard boxes like other skin care products.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Samsara

I was walking around WHSmiths (newsagents in UK) and noticed a man following me. I did the old turn left 3 times (like they do in the movies) and he was still following me. He eventually came over to me and said "What perfume are you wearing?" and I said "Samara, its by Guerlain." And with his information he was off. Its a very strong confident perfume. I agree with other posters not for summer and not for the faint of heart but IMO a real earthy sexy smell.

Conditioner -Aveda - All Sensitive Conditioner

I have fine, medium length hair that i wash everyday. I have bleach highlights. I use this conditioner £15 for 200ml in UK) and its light enough not to weigh down my hair and I get the colour additive (but not the perfume due to allergies) and it actually changed my colour from brassy to classy!! My holy grail everyday conditioner. Will try more of their range as this has really been a godsend.

Shampoo -Aveda - All-Sensitive Shampoo

I am allergic to: Cobalt Chloride Nickel Perfume/Fragrance (not all kinds would have to patch test) 2-bromo-2-nitropane-1,3-diol Citronellol Citral Coumarin Lyral Farnesol Alpha-hexylcinnamic aldehyde A very thoughtful friend bought me this and some of the other Aveda sensitive products for Christmas. I have repurchased this and the conditioner and have to say its fantastic. I have medium length, fine hair, which I wash and condition every day. I can use the added colour ingredients (violet since you ask to help keep my highlights) but NOT the perfume additives which they do for you in the shop. My holy grail shampoo wont use anything else. £10 in UK for 200ml.

I bought this and as soon as I saw the ingredients knew I couldnt use it as I am allergic to: Cobalt Chloride Nickel Perfume/Fragrance (not all kinds would have to patch test) 2-bromo-2-nitropane-1,3-diol Citronellol Citral Coumarin Lyral Farnesol Alpha-hexylcinnamic aldehyde It did NOT contain all of these, but if you are sensitive be aware. and had to retum it. I am now using Triple Dry, which is a weird concept as you use it at night, then wash off in the morning. So far so good.

I am now on my 3rd hairbrush - on my life!! I am 31 and remember my first little white brush - awww. These are the best hair brushes in the world. I have fine, medium length hair, but lots of it. Yes they are expensive but they last and are of the highest quality. I wash mine in a little shampoo, rinse and dry naturally every now and again.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Intensive Moisture Balance
NIFI 5/10/2007 9:59:00 AM
I have been using this on my reactive, combination-dry skin. I really like that its light but moisturising but thats all. I want more from my moisturiser - I want hydration and wrinkle decreasing. I want a hard working cream so am currently trying Philosophy Hope in a jar. If all else fails I know i can always go back to Intensive Moisture Balance.

Gels/Soaps -Dermalogica - conditioning body wash
NIFI 5/10/2007 9:56:00 AM
I regularly use this and it does not dry out skin, smells great and is unisex so dont need too many more bottles in shower! You can also use it as a bubble bath, but the bubbles arent as good as others. I buy the 437ml with a pump and used every day lasts about 7 weeks. I know i use too much of it, as one pump can do your whole body.

I was so enthused by QVC's Alison Young (UK) and she was saying how her skin was super reactive that I thought thats like me! She was raving about the sensitive skin wash, but the product that caught my eye was the Tri-Enzyme facial wash. I was cautious though and bought the starter pack for £38 (inc P+P). IT duly arrived and I read the little ingredients book that accompanied it - oh dear. Unfortunately there is over half the product line I will not be able to use due to my allergies these are: Cobalt Chloride Nickel Perfume/Fragrance (not all kinds would have to patch test) 2-bromo-2-nitropane-1,3-diol Citronellol Citral Coumarin Lyral Farnesol Alpha-hexylcinnamic aldehyde just in case you have them too! I sent the kit back (just awaiting my refund now). I was disheartended though as there were things I could use but would have to patch test (which i do anyway!) as they contained fragrance/perfume. Now the good news is I bought a 50ml Tri-Enzyme wash off Ebay and have patch tested it, used it last night and so far only good things to report so in short 1) Watch the ingredients 2) Buy it from eBay / QVC / www.timetospa.co.uk as they give you 15% off your first order and have other offers too!

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Dolce Vita
NIFI 4/24/2007 3:01:00 AM
This has been my favourite for a long time now. I am 31, and the upbeatness of the perfume has kept me going through some tough times. I am allergic to some perfumes and always patch test however my dermatologist recommended spraying my clothes not my skin with perfume (not sure what this does to the fabrics long term though) It is a sweet smell and many people have asked me what perfume I am wearing and I tell them! Although not like the time a man stalked me round WHSmiths (stationery store in UK) when I was wearing "Samsara" but thats another story. I hope Dior continue with this classic for a long time to come.
