Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
NARSnerd 3/24/2013 11:36:00 AM
This was my first higher end moisturizer and i thoroughly enjoyed using it, and it lasted about a year with pretty regular use. However, i think my skin is too dry for this moisturizer, it would only leave my skin feeling hydrated for a short while but i did like that it absorbed quickly. I've tried better moisturizers since and i wouldn't repurchases this only because it isn't great for my dry skin, if you have normal skin or even combination this might be great for you.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle
NARSnerd 3/7/2013 7:53:00 PM
This is most certainly my favourite lip butter, the texture on the lips is wonderful, not too slippery and not drying at all. The colour is a very easy to wear MLBB shade and is suitable for any eye look. And the packaging is adorable to boot! Do not under estimate the versatility of a great MLBB shade to have in your collection!

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
NARSnerd 3/7/2013 7:45:00 PM
I think this product does wonders for my under eye circles, i have it in porcelain bisque and it matches my skin very well. The main reason i couldn't give this product a 5 even though i definitely would never want to be without it in my makeup arsenal is because the texture isnt the greatest. Its not very creamy and quite stiff and therefore isnt the easiest to blend under the eyes.. i think the formula could use some work but it is incredibly effective and lasts all day without creasing or smudging!

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
NARSnerd 3/7/2013 7:31:00 PM
Such an awful moisturizer, it has a horrible very chemically strong fragrance and does absolutely nothing for my skin. It applies patchy and doesn't want to absorb into my skin and leaves the skin feeling even worse. awful awful awful

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
NARSnerd 3/2/2013 11:55:00 AM
I wouldn't say this is a terrible lip balm, but totally not as good as the all the hype would have you believe. I do really enjoy the packaging and the scents these come in, which is why they get a 3, but in terms of moisturizing qualities it feels great on the lips for about 20 mins but once it sound of has sucken into your lips my feels feel dehydrated right after so i need to constantly reapply, an issue i don't have with my carmex or smiths rose salve. I would probably repurchase this just because i love the scent so much and its not horrible, just not great.

Primer/ Corrector -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Skin Perfecting Primer
NARSnerd 3/2/2013 11:51:00 AM
If you don't want to purchase a high end primer, this hard candy one is your absolute best bet at the drugstore, it leaves a very pleasant texture on my skin and improves my foundations longevity and overall performance. You get a decent amount of product for the price and the packaging is cute as well. If i didn't already have about 4 primers to go through i would repurchase this again, and it will definitely be my go to drugstore primer when i decide to buy it again. I'd give this a thumbs up and say give it a try if you enjoy a silicone type primer.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
NARSnerd 3/2/2013 11:47:00 AM
I can generally get along with just about any foundation because i have relatively good skin and foundations tend to wear well on me... but oh my goodness. This is absolute crap, i can't figure out why some people even like this. The only good thing about this foundation is there is an absolutely huge colour range for a drugstore foundation, and my shade N1did infact match me wonderfully but it was so difficult to blend regardless of my technique and it clung onto areas around my nose and looked super cakey. I hated this foundation, and it smelt funny.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation
NARSnerd 2/28/2013 10:14:00 PM
I purchased this foundation because i often like to have a cheaper drugstore foundation on hand so i'm not constantly using my higher end ones. This intrigued me because it was advertised as having light coverage with a nature finish. I can honestly say i do think that it looks great on the skin and there is a very nice shade selection. It lasts decently well on my skin and applies nicely. This reason i can only give this foundation a 3 is because the smell is so overwhelming. I know its intended to have a cucumber smell, but quite frankly i think its smells strongly of urine.. straight up. I dread applying this because i hate the scent so much, which really is unfortunate because the foundation itself is a very good product, i wish cover girl would remove the fragrance though!

Highlighters -Christian Dior - Shimmer Powder 002 Amber Diamond, Spring 08
NARSnerd 2/12/2013 11:46:00 PM
Lovely packaging, Lovely product. I've wanted this highlighter for ages and finally decided to treat myself to this during the holidays. Its certainly a gorgeous cheek highlight but it does function quite nicely as a subtle eyeshadow palette as well. Its great for travel with the large compact mirror. Although this product is expensive the quality is certainly up to par for the price you pay, its smooth, pigmented and has great lasting power. Although there is nothing incredibly unique about the colour of this product the effective it gives on the skin is unmatched in my opinion.

Lips -Korres - Jasmine Lip Butter Glaze
NARSnerd 2/12/2013 11:43:00 PM
For my fair complexion this lip glaze provides the perfect lip colour for a "no makeup, makeup" look. I love the packaging as well, the only negative is the texture, i wasn't expecting there to be such large shimmers in it. I think this product would be much better without the shimmer, it would provide for a smoother application and be better at hydrating the lips. With that said the affect with this product on is wonderful, and it is relatively inexpensive. I would consider repurchasing this just because i love the look it gives but the texture could be improved.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
NARSnerd 2/12/2013 11:37:00 PM
This is such a fabulous foundation. Initially i was a tad weary that this might not be the best choice for a dry skin but i was definitely incorrect about that. It has a lovely texture thats somewhere in between a thick creme and a mousse. It blends like a dream either with your fingers or a beauty blender. It provides in my opinion full coverage, though i prefer to sheer it to about a medium. It sets to a natural satin finish and i only powder my t-zone. This foundation does not at all enhance my dry skin, in fact it feels quite moisturizing, but doesn't at all leave a dewy finish which has me believe an oily skin would enjoy this foundation as well. It has an impeccable staying power, it looks flawless for a solid 12hrs. I wear the lightest shade and it is a decent match, a tad too dark but when blended down the neck its not really an issue. The only downside to this foundation is the bulky packaging, i like the look of the glass jar but its just impractical and unhygienic. I would prefer if this foundation came in a squeeze tube, sort of like the LM silk creme. Regardless i will be repurchasing this foundation, it has become my HG drugstore foundation.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
NARSnerd 2/12/2013 11:29:00 PM
I've tried so many cleansers, skin care is without a doubt the most important aspect of my beauty routine and it can be difficult to hunt down the perfect cleanser for dry skin. Cetaphil is a wonderfully fragrance free as well as being free of many other harmful ingredients. There is nothing fancy about the packaging or the claims that it makes, but its the simplicity that i enjoy so much. It removes face and eye makeup very easily, although i prefer to remove that separately it can act has a makeup remover and cleanser for nights i'm lazy. It has a pleasant texture and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or tight. I'll continue to repurchase this product so long as its available!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
NARSnerd 2/12/2013 11:26:00 PM
This is probably this most well known blush in all of the beauty community. I have to say that i can't honestly find a flaw with this blush. It has a smooth texture, it is very pigmented has a great balance of cool and warm undertones to work on a variety of skin colours and it has a beautiful sheen so it can act as a subtle highlight as well. It has a descent longevity, it lasts on my dry skin about 6-7 hours before fading. I don't think that this is my favourite NARS blush but it is definitely a go-to blush when i'm looking to perk up my complexion any time of the year. I recommend this blush to everyone.

Cleansers -Bioderma - Sensibio H2O (aka Crealine H20 Solution micellaire)
NARSnerd 2/12/2013 11:20:00 PM
Luckily, leaving in Canada I have access to Bioderma at my drugstore, however it is very expensive, for a 500ml bottle it is around 40 dollars, mind you a bottle of this size does last me around 6 months. I love this to remove any face makeup or a refresher with a cotton round in the morning.. however i do not at all enjoy using this to remove eyemake up, it does not effectively remove waterproof mascara or gel eyeliner at all. I know it works in this way for many people but not myself, but i didn't purchase it with that intension anyway. I much prefer my neutrogena eye makeup remover. This is a lovely and very gentle product, worth a try especially if you have sensitive or acne prone skin.

Liquid -Smashbox - Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Fdt.
NARSnerd 2/12/2013 11:14:00 PM
This foundation has a truly lovely texture, it applies nicely with a beauty blender, and i have also used my fingers as well- either application technique works well. This foundation has a wonderful colour selection, especially for someone like myself who is very pale. I would classify this is a definite medium coverage that can be built up to full. It does not enhance any dryness on my face and leaves a nice satin finish. I would say this foundation looks great for about 10hrs without any touch ups necessary, if you were an oily skin person i would recommend setting with a powder. The packaging is very sleek, its a nice sized glass bottle and has a very efficient pump. The only reason i gave this product a 4 instead of a 5 is because of its price. I don't view smashbox as a "luxury" brand, nothing about it screams high end, most of their products are loud and have fun packaging, so i was shocked to see that this foundation was 48$ Canadian. I realize it will be less in other countries but this price is the same as my dior foundation which i would consider to be a luxury brand. I just think this foundation should sit more at the 35 dollar range.. regardless i would repurchase this again.
