Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - bathed and infused capri olivo
Myrtille 7/18/2007 6:54:00 PM
Starting off aggressively clean (yuzu), Capri Olivo evolves into a soft, unique scent. After 30 minutes to an hour, the aggressive grapefruity opening evolves into a softly floral, slightly green scent, perfectly capturing something out of a garden overlooking the sea. It's not hyper feminine, nor is it foody or strictly floral. If you are looking for something unusual, adult, and clean, I suggest you try it! CAPRI OLIVO: Imagine a breath-taking paradise overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Capri Olivo is a complex blend of Japanese yuzu, Fresh Osmanthus (Sweet Olive), and dew-covered watercress followed by middle notes of rose, jasmine, and cassis. Capri Olivo sits on a dry down of fresh amber and myrhh.
Shampoo -Alba Botanica - Plumeria Replenishing Hair Wash
Myrtille 7/15/2007 7:57:00 PM
My hair is dry, porous, and otherwise not nice without product smeared all over it. This shampoo smells amazing. It dries out my mop, though. It gets my hair super clean, and that's not good. If your hair isn't porous and dry, I think this is a harmless, delicious shampoo.
Polishes -Sinful - Sinful Professionals in #02 (Black on Black)
Myrtille 7/7/2007 2:14:00 PM
I am very pleased, as most polishes seem to chip off in 3 seconds on me, such as Rimmel 60 second. This color is straight up black. There's no undertones of purple, blue, or red in this one. After a week of intense wear, it's now chipping at tips of nails. It requires 2 coats, but not more unless you want to. It doesn't bubble or streak. I am very impressed!
Maybe Baby has the vague fruity floralness of a bathroom spray including peach and flowers...it lingers like a bad dream of the headache inducing variety. It is cheap, simple, and obnoxious. It has elements in it that I think would smell great on the right person, but on me it was curses.
This just...sucks. The color's nice, like you've been sucking on a lolly, but I can't understand WHY this product is any better than regular lipstick/gloss. Granted, I enjoy the color, but it takes decades to dry and honestly it's not all that great because it comes off easily or will leave a clown ring outline on your lips. Save your dough!
I tried this in a sample, I got all of the Antonia's Flowers fragrances for 5 USD, and this was my absolute favorite. It is a "watery, fruity, floral with notes of Italian bergamot, cassis buds, wild rhubarb, orange and lotus." It is a watery fragrance, but not with a sharp sting...most watery scents give me a nail in the head. This was fresh, clean, crisp, not masculine, but not girly, either. It isn't salty, but it is definitely like a crisp morning after a jog on the beach, particularly if the beach is conveniently located near some woods! I can't speak highly enough of this scent, and I am a CHEAPSKATE, but this is worth every darn penny and then some! ***Update***** I got the bottle, and even my picky prissy britches husband loves this one. It's got a peppery kick to it on me, spicy like the woods, but oceanic for sure...just like a morning at the beach!
Polishes -Sally Hansen - Salon Perfect Nail Polish - Pat On The Black
Myrtille 6/26/2007 3:59:00 PM
I am verrrrry happy with the color. It's a eggplant black, and since most black polishes look terrrrrible on me, I must say this is a nice surprise. It's an amazing color. No stupid glitter or color flash changes (i hate the mermaid tail colors with what looks to me like an oil slick rainbow effect). However. This color is thin and watery. It is prone to air bubbles, as the previous reviewer said. I have bubbles on four of my nails...how tacky. YUCK I am still going to wear it, as I love the color and the vinyl like shine. I am very annoyed with the bubbles.
I got the samples from Antonia's Flowers, including Floret in EDT and EDP. I hate them both. They smell like the peach spray people use in the bathroom, or Naturistics Tropics. I am not sure because I haven't smelled Tropics in 14 years, but I remember liking the smell, but something was off. Same with Floret. It's nothing like Petite Cherie. Nothing at all. On the plus side, Antonia's Flowers had excellent CS, and I LOVED sogni del mare. I will buy that. I got about 7 or 8 samples for $5, sogni del mare edt, floret edp edt, tempe passate and antonia's flowers. A great deal!
Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Bathed and Infused Creed Spring Flower
Myrtille 5/15/2007 5:26:00 PM
This Dupe smells EXACTLY like my bottle of Creed Spring Flower. I am absolutely blown away. It's fresh, crisp, tart, fruity. If you love CSF but don't want to fork out the dough, try this one. I have the roll-on, perfume and lotion and it's absolutely perfect. I can't wear this one everyday though, it's pretty strong!
This doesn't really smell that great, but I am so addicted to it, there's nothing to be done for it. I think I have a love/hate relationship with blackberry, I can't live with it, I hate it, but I crave it. What to do? This has a slight medicinal smell. I am guessing it's the madagascar vanilla, which smells faintly "tabac" to me! It reminds me of tobacco flower from I think it was the body shop, which I loved, but didn't last nor smell great on me...So for me, this is a euphoric, dirty tobacco, love hate rollercoaster. I think we're a pair!
Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Sexy Little Things perfume
Myrtille 12/5/2006 12:56:00 AM
We broke up! Alas, sexy little things is just a little too fruity for mama! I loved it at first, quite dearly! And I will say: If you like Petite Cherie, Creed Spring Flower, DKNY Be Delicious, you might like this. I can't wear this too often, just a spritz on the clothes!!! I require something headier, more womanly, more voluptuous!
Lip Liners -Max Factor - High Definition Lipliner- Nude
Myrtille 11/11/2006 12:32:00 PM
i wore this on my wedding day. Has a peachy-gold tone, makes my lips look fuller, warmer, and livens up my complexion. If I can find this again, I'm buying two. It's beautiful.
This lipcolor comes in a small, slim, shiny tube. It's excellent on space-saving in the purse. It has a top coat, which is clear and glittery.
It's true candy-apple red on me, as I have faitly-light golden skin, and looks like a deep jewel red on my co-worker, who has BE 2.3 skin. It lasts ALL DAY and will not come off on you-know-who after a smooch or two, much to their surprise! A great product, just what I was looking for! Now they need a matching liner with the same wearability!
Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation - Intensive formula [DISCONTINUED]
Myrtille 9/27/2006 1:39:00 AM
It's the only foundation I've ever tried that I don't have to blend. It's awesome. No one could tell I was wearing makeup, but my skin looks even and flawless. It's silky, fragrance free, doesn't dry out my skin or just sit there on top all greasy like. Looks like air brushed skin. I wear moisturizer under this, and I like that it takes my greasy look away, while keeping me hydrated looking. I never apply foundations under my eyes, for some reason, so I never see crows feet. It's the best foundation and you just can't beat the price!!!
Crème -Max Factor - Silk perfection cream to powder
Myrtille 9/8/2006 10:24:00 PM
Okay, this will basically make you look like a pretty porcelain doll. Which I ain't knockin perse, but it's a bit much in the day time. Nice for the evening. I discovered this product 10 years ago when my aunt (who's a model and has FLAWLESS skin anyway) came to stay with us for a week. She always looked so perfect. What's that say about me? Perfection has it's place! How bout perfection occasionally, and natural most the time?
