Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Grapeseed oil
MusesX9 12/23/2012 6:02:00 PM
I've been using this for years now and never realized I never did a review! This is the best product ever. I swear by it after I take a bath. When I ran out of it, my skin was still hydrated, I could go without using it for two-three days my skin was that moist! Love it.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Grapeseed OIl by La Tourangelle
MusesX9 11/18/2012 10:27:00 AM
I have always used extra virgin olive oil as an aftershower oil and let air dry to moisturize my skin, but I started using Grapeseed Oil instead and WOW! It is ridiculously soft, my scars have substantially diminished and, on days when I don't use it, my skin STILL feels moisturized. How is that possible????? I get compliments on the softness of my skin and the suppleness. It feels better, more moisturized and supple. LOVE this! Thought I'd share. Oh, I suffer from eczema and mild psoriasis, or should I say I used to?! Not anymore. I use it on my face as well, by the way. I used to suffer from oily skin.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Lander - 3 in 1 Creme Caramel
MusesX9 11/18/2012 10:09:00 AM
I have used all of Lander's 3-in-1 products because Ioved Philosophy's. It's ridiculously overpriced (Philosophy). I stumbled upon this many years ago and used to buy it in bulk because it was hit or miss whether or not I would find it (at Big Lots, Walmart, etc.). then, it was discontinued...UGH! I knew I was in trouble when I would find myself stopping at Walmarts on family vacations and stocking up. I even emailed the company and was told they were filing for bankruptcy. Then, I found it again! Voila! Back in business, baby! This stuff is great! My kids (11 year old boy and 14 year old girl) love that they can use it as shampoo and soap. I mix in brown sugar with the caramel and make myself a scrub. Really, to die for! Love it! It's cheap. The only thing that would make it better is if they came with a pump. Until then I recycle with pumps from other products.

Treatments (Eye) -Ole Henriksen - Ultimate Lift Eye Gel
MusesX9 11/18/2012 9:58:00 AM
One of the worst I've ever tried. I have tried using it several times and each time my eyes area is sticky and, in the morning, it is swollen or more crepey. Horrible!!! Very unsanitary in a jar container. UGH!

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Clear Scalp and Hair Therapy for Damaged and Color Treated Hair
MusesX9 6/22/2012 5:10:00 PM
I LOVE this product! I have suffered from eczema or dermatitis on my scalp for YEARS...anyway, I didn't have my hopes too up for this but, wow!!! It left my hair shiny, soft and less frizzy. I had beautiful, glossy hair and really can't say enough about how much I loved this. I had tried the Shea line (including the drop and the balm) because my hair is so frizzy and dry. It was too heavy for me. The color care one was just right. I have colored my hair so much over the years, the damage has been unimaginable. I just dyed my hair blonde and it looks healthy. I use the conditioner as a deep masque by leaving it on for a long time while I do housechores, etc.

Foundations -Mary Kay - TimeWise Luminous-Wear Liquid Foundation
MusesX9 4/7/2012 9:09:00 PM
I am a foundation slut. Sorry, it's true. I have tried everything. I didn't even give this a second look because having tried Merle Norman and being so disappointed, as well as, Avon, I didn't think this could compete with my current rotation of Ken, Scott Barnes, Chanel and Becca (my other fave). Honestly, I used this with and without the primer. I love it regardless. I have combo skin which tends to get dry around the eyes and I was worried about it settling in my pores. Nope! Color was spot-on and it has lasted all day! It hasn't oxidized on me (a lot of them do), it hasn't gotten spotty, or faded, or caked, or sunk in pores. It looks as fresh as when I first put it on. I really love this and will definitely be using this in the future. This is really one of the best foundations I have ever used.

Treatments (Eye) -Korres - Quercetin & Oak Antiageing Antiwrinkle Eye Cream

This stung my eyes, and unfortunately the pump stopped working when there was only half was left in the bottle. I would have to pump several times and it would shoot past my fingers. Waste! I didn't see much of a difference. Too expensive for such a crappy product,

Fragrances -Penhaligon's - LP No. 9
MusesX9 2/17/2011 9:40:00 PM
I purchased this for my husband several years ago when it was carried by my local Saks Fifth Avenue. Well, the kiosk there may be gone, but my love for this is not. It is truly so spectacular that we get stopped all of the time by people wanting to know what it is. I can't say enough about it.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Crème Smooth Foundation
MusesX9 10/29/2010 6:49:00 PM
I purchased this on a whim. I have Teint Miracle, which I think is too yellow and rubs off on me. I use Becca pretty much all of the time (it's my go-to/Holy Grail). I have used Becca for years. Have I tried other foundations? Yes, but I rarely review them lately. You name it, I have it or have tried it. I like this one. A lot. It seems thick and I was worried when I first opened the jar. I must say, however, that upon application, my face looked flawless. I applied it with a damp sponge and was awestruck. It looked natural, but beautiful. I was worried it would be too dark, but it wasn't. I am between two colors: vanilla beige and sunny beige. I purchased vanilla. It was a good choice. It matched me perfectly, although sunny beige is probably my exact match. I think it would have "paled" me out. edit: Didn't last all day and oxidized on me...off to the drawing board

Blush -Rock & Republic - Contrived Blush - X-Rated

I purchased this blush and do not regret it at all. With my tan...wow! Great pigmentation and wonderful to work with. A great color for warm tones. I gave it a 2 in the price because I got it on a mega sale.

Fragrances -Penhaligon's - LP No.9 for Men
MusesX9 6/23/2010 5:28:00 PM
from the website: Minty black and warm, LP No. 9 casts a spell of powdered darkness from its complex heart of ylang-ylang, spices and iris. The aromatic mingle of clove, vanilla & earthy patchouli add a sweetened ginger-ale touch to heady layers that open and smooth into a moreish bubblegum-scented delight. This is truly an exceptional fragrance! My husband wears this exclusively since I purchased it many years ago. We always come back to this one because it is a wonderful, smooth fragrance. It is not bubble-gum scented, but it is not "heavy." He receives compliments everytime he wears it--including a fragrance shop. They actually wanted to replicate the scent! It was discontinued a couple of years ago, but was brought back immediately. Just in time, I was going to have it duplicated myself! This is a gem.

Foundations -Philosophy - Supernatural Superbeautiful foundation
MusesX9 9/23/2009 10:05:00 AM
I really, really like this foundation. I have used every foundation possible, and have been looking for something that looks natural yet holds my "face" (makeup stays fresh and natural). This delivers just fine. I bought it through QVC on a whim. I used to love Philosophy's old liquid foundation and have never found anything that matched the quality of that. They discontinued it and I was at a loss---for years. I am currently using Becca LSC, which seems a little too much at times (oiliness, etc.). I love the look I get with this foundation. It is natural, does not settle into pores, leaves my face looking natural and not overly madeup. It kept up throughout the day. I was even able to use my creme blush with this foundation (not an easy task unless I let the foundation sink, etc.). For reference, I am a MAC NC35-42 (no matter how much sunscreen I use...). I can use GA LSF in 6.5 or 7. I picked up the Philosophy in Bronze From the website: the supernatural superbeautiful is a superhealthy, hybrid makeup created for the woman who doesn't consider herself a professional makeup artist and needs an easy-to-apply, get-out-the-door makeup. philosophy's new hybrid alternative to traditional liquid makeup uses pure, natural color in a skin-loving, water-based formula that won't pollute your pores and is as good for your skin as any skincare product. the healthy, good-for-skin formula is infused with natural, plant-based moisturizers, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and spf 20 to deliver sheer color, moisture and protection in one step. the supernatural superbeautiful provides the most natural-looking coverage and a healthy, radiant finish that looks like great skin, not makeup. you need this product if... you want the most natural-looking coverage you want a natural, hybrid, good-for-skin makeup you want buildable color and a lightweight, silky formula you want a healthy, radiant finish

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy Airbrush Spray Makeup
MusesX9 5/10/2009 8:29:00 PM
Wow! I was soooo pleasantly surprised by this product! I was out of town visiting family members for a baptism and wanted something that would look flawless. I hit the Duane Read across the street from where we were staying and ran into this. I decided to try it and am soooo glad I did. For reference I am between a MAC NC35-42 depending on my tan (although I use sunscreen feverishly) and used medium. I was worried about the orangey look because the night before I needed it, I had tried it and it looked a little orangey. Thankfully, I gave it another shot the next day. Can I say that I looked great?!!! The key is DEFINITELY application. I had used a heavy hand. This time, I used a lighter spray stroke and blended with my blender sponge (also key). WOW! People could not believe how great I looked and I had comments about my beautiful skin! Someone actually couldn't believe I had foundation on. I used a small spray on my hand and patted it with my ring finger for extra coverage on tricky spots (blemishes) and found that it didn't cake up, etc. It rained and all throughout my makeup was fantabulous! I will be posting pictures for reference. I am testing it out tomorrow here in the Miami, humid weather although the conditioners were about the same where I was at. For a drugstore foundation, I found it a little pricey (13.99), and I wish the can was a little bigger, my only gripes. Thankfully, I was able to sneak this back on my flight (I was prepared to mail it to myself, though). Totally recommend this.

Eye Shadow -Becca - Jewel Dust in Aspara
MusesX9 11/25/2008 1:12:00 AM
Truly, it's one of my "go-to's". I use this for an "everyday, fresh-but-eyecatching look". I get a lot of compliments on this color. It's like a neutral, peach shimmer that is subtle, but it makes my brown eyes pop. I use this, with no liner, just mascara, and wow!

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - David Babaii for WildAid - hydrating shampoo
MusesX9 9/23/2008 3:47:00 PM
I've included this in my arsenal of shampoo switch-ups. I alternate between Frederic Fekkai glossing, Protein, and Kerastase (I have a lot from this line). I love this!!! Truly. I live in Miami. I have frizzy hair from colorig over grays and the extensive highlighting and coloring (gone from dark to light tooooo many times), so I need something that's gentle, but hydrating without adding gunk or leaving it a mess. Well, I think I have! I am not happy about the price, however, for a "drugstore" brand it's pricey, however, a lot of ds brands are getting pricier as well, go figure. I find that using only a little of this goes a long way. I have received a lot of compliments after using this. I only wish I had the shine polish.
