I am LOVING this stick! My skin has always been dry no matter what I have put on it and this baby has solved my problem! Love the cold, wet feeling when I glide it across my face - only to be completely absorbed when touched. I apply after shower and before bed. No breakouts and I have been applying for 2 weeks now. This will be a forever staple in my make-up bag. LOVE! Paid $6 at Target.
Day 1: IN LOVE! I have tried just about every foundation on the market and I have to say, I am VERY impressed! It is only day 1...so we will see how it holds up through the rest of the day. I absolutely loved the consistency and applying it was a breeze! Normally, I have to blend and work and try to make it not look like a foundation...but this just smoothed itself right onto my skin and blended beautifully. I also need to say that I have very dry skin and this seems to have a moisturizing effect and gives me a nice "glow" -which is something that is rare for me to achieve. Let's just hope the honeymoon lasts! If so...I will never stray again!
Oh...MY....Can you say GREASY?? I have NEVER had greasy hair - until I tried this shampoo. My hair is normally on the dry side if anything and recently I had highlights put in. Naturally, I thought I would be on the safe side with L'Oreal since their products have been pretty consistent for me in the past. I do have to say that this shampoo smells wonderful and lathers into a thick, rich lather - but left me like an oil slick right on the top of my head. I rewashed my hair after drying it -only to acheive the same result -ick! Maybe someone put baby oil in it while at Walgreens and I just happened to be the sucker that bought it - regardless, I will definitely not repurchase. I paid $4.99 for the shampoo & conditioner at a BOGOF at Walgreens
Blush -Revlon - Skinlights Color Lighting for Eyes/Cheeks [DISCONTINUED]
Muffin28 8/10/2006 5:10:00 PM
WOW....all I can say is WOW!! What a great find! I found this blush (unfortunately) at a local beauty discount store - so I am not sure if this product is being discontinued or not. Regardless, the colors that I have tried (Rosy & Sunny) are the most beautiful, natural blushes (cream) that I have EVER used-period. I paid only $1.99 for them so I went back and stocked up. I can't wait to try Berry & Mocha. If they do discontinue this product, then I will be one sad girl. My cheeks have never looked so radiant and natural! UPDATE: I tried Mocha and all I have to say is that I went back and purchased a bunch more!! Awesome!
I have found my HG (for a facial moisturizer)!!! Yes, I know, it's probably not for the face, but I was getting tired of shelling out $$$ for moisturizers that promised the moon but did not deliver. For the first time in about a year, my skin is actually "glowing" and not in an oily way. My skin was getting so dry that I couldn't take it anymore and I was willing to have a super shiny/oily face just to get relief. Well, I got it and it did NOT make me greasy or shiny at ALL! I am passing by mirrors and can actually see how much of a difference that only one (yes, you heard me-one) use has made! I am so grateful for these boards/product reviews or else I would have NEVER tried this miracle cream. THANK YOU! :)
Powder -Neutrogena - Mineral Sheers Mineral Powder Foundation-Sheer Bronzer
Muffin28 2/17/2006 2:09:00 PM
What a MAJOR disappointment! Made my face look like I was a pre-teen trying out blush/bronzer for the first time. Came out completely uneven and bronz-y looking on my cheeks. I used this sparingly since I was only going for the "sun-kissed" look, but I looked more like I was trying to get into clown college. *For a full description of how I feel about this product, see my complete review of the 'Neutrogena Mineral Sheers' under the fair to neutral section* Will not repurchase - bleh!
Powder -Neutrogena - mineral sheers mineral powder foundation-fair to light
Muffin28 2/16/2006 11:22:00 AM
Okay...I really hate killing this foundation's great rating, but I can't stand it! AND...in this situation, I looked for weeks and weeks for it because I couldn't wait to try it. AND..I am a fan of Neutrogena in general, but this product didn't live up to he hype for me. First off, I do not like the container that it comes in. You are supposed to just shake and apply, but it is really not that easy. I shook for a long time until I finally saw the powder, but then it would not stop. As I was applying it to my face, powder was flying everywhere - ick! And the brush is not soft and easy to work with - a little stiff for my taste. Afterwards, I looked at myself in the mirror and I couldn't tell that I had done anything.....that is until I looked at myself outside - UGH! I looked like a had a shiny beige mask on. I had to rub it off with a napkin inside my car. It also looked uneven, splotchy and REALLY emphasized my pores - which do not need accentuating! I need to add that I have been using Bare Escentuals and decided to give this a try since it is a lot cheaper ($9 @ Wal-Mart). After this experience, I think I will stick to BE. Bummer :(
Bleh....ust bleh! I am so dissapointed in this product! I wanted to LOVE it so much just because I have always had such great luck with Neutrogena's products, but this one doesn't do anything for me. I have been using it in the shower every day and while it doesn't break me out, I don't feel as if my face is getting extra squeaky clean either. AND...the smell is awful! It smells like a glue (the knock-off kind) and has only a few "scrubbers" about a fourth the size of sugar or salt granules within the cleanser. If it is supposed to be exfoliating then the granules need to be a lot larger and more textured or something. Regardless, I am not repurchasing this stuff. On with the search....
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaEyes eyeshadow in "Naked" [DISCONTINUED]
Muffin28 2/10/2006 3:40:00 PM
Yet another cheap, but great find! I picked this up at a grocery store while trying to kill some time getting a prescription filled and I am SO glad I did. I have never used W&W's eye shadow before and WOWZA am I impressed. It lasts all day on me (which is huge). This color looks dark in the container, but goes on a lot lighter and more sheer. It looks fantastic on my lids and brings out my brown eyes. I can't wait to try some more colors and for $1.99 you can't go wrong!!
Blush -Sonia Kashuk - BeautifyingBlush in 03 - Pink
Muffin28 2/10/2006 3:21:00 PM
This is a very pretty and very natural looking blush. It is almost a bit too powdery, so I prefer to use a cotton ball instead of a blush brush to apply. I didn't give it 5 lippies because it doesn't seem to want to stay on my skin for a long period of time like my other blushes do. However, it doesn't bother me because the color is so nice and I love most of Sonia's other products a lot. I finally located this blush after going to 3 different Target stores because it was the only one of the Beautifying Blushes that was consistently sold out. It is very popular and it's now wonder because I bet most people could wear it and look natural. I just wish it lasted a little longer on me :(
WOW...what a shocker this turned out to be. I paid $1.97 + tax for this mascara and it is one of the best mascaras I (personally) have ever used! The brush is so nice and makes my lashes look like feathers (that's a good thing). It also defines them and makes them look thick. I will definitely repurchase!!!!
Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Last Lip Wear Caramel
Muffin28 10/5/2005 3:49:00 PM
WOW! Who would have thought that for $1.75 you could get a quality lipstick such as this! I bought this and some other NYC lipsticks today (impulse buy) and man, am I impressed. I hope they don't discontinue because I am already a fan!
So far so good. I am always a big skeptic on products such as this - that promise to do a lot more than they usually deliver. However, I have only been using this for a week now and can already tell a difference in the texture of my skin. My skin has always been more on the dry side - not flaky, just not shiny or glowing. This product seems to have brought out a nice sheen to my skin and for the first time my skin feels like it has moisture in it. BIG improvement. I was given a sample (that I am still using)from my derm's office and spontaneously bought the full size bottle there for $135.00. Then I got home, found it on the internet for $89.00 and promptly returned the first bottle. The site I used was http://www.refskincare.com. Hopefully this will keep doing great things for my skin and I won't have to add any updates! I will repurchase
This is wonderful stuff! I bought a Neutrogena 'First Blush' and Rimmel's 'Snog' at the same time and I honestly think I like the Rimmel product over the Neutrogena. The color is absolutely perfect for my lips and makes them look so beautiful! I love the consistency (smoooooth) and the smell is not offensive. I would definitely repurchase!!
Foundations -Maybelline - 3-1 Express Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
Muffin28 2/13/2005 8:32:00 AM
Picked up a stick of this on sale at Target for $4.99. It was an impulse purchase in that I needed something to act more as a touch-up around my eye area. I was eager to give it a spin until I came home and read the reviews. Well, I figured that if I didn't like it that it could just go into my purse for emergencies. That wasn't the case. I absolutely LOVE this little stick! It matched and blended into my skin like melted butter and that was huge for me. My skin in on the dry side and this foundation provides a nice moisturized look to my skin. A lot of the reviews described it as greasy and it is - but in a nice way. I applied it with a foundation brush and had flawless coverage all day. I am sure it's not for most, but I am a happy customer and for the price, it can't be beat!!
