Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Durance en Provence. Body Lotion Rose
rated 5 of 5

I bought this body lotion mostly because of the fragrance and the pretty design of the bottle (design has changed since). It has been standing on my dresser for a long time, both for decoration and as an easily-available hand lotion for guests and for myself. I have taken it for granted, I admit - only by comparing it to lots of other body lotions have I seen that it really is such a great moisturizer, it absorbes really well and leaves the skin velvety smooth for a long time afterwards. It is too moisturizing for me as a general body lotion (I need them to be very light), but it's wonderful as a hand/dry area/winter season moisturizer. Oh, and the smell...such a subtle and elegant rose fragrance, much more so than the rose body products from L'Occitane. If someome asked me to recommend a normal skin body lotion, or one for dry skin, I would absolutely recommend this one. A bargain for it's quality too.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Rose & Co. Apothecary. Rose Petal Salve
rated 5 of 5
MsPucci 8/5/2008 3:55:00 AM

This is is the cuter little sister of Smith's Rosebud salve;-) It's the same price, and I found it in the counter lying next to it. I love, love the smell of this one, it really smells of rose petals. The box is a little treat in itself, with it's elegant turn-of-the-century design, so cute. But most importantly, it softens the lips, while it is less sticky than the Rosebud salve. It feels more soothing one sore lips to me than the latter to, but i don't now if that's just me. Nice allround lip balm!

Shampoo -Aveda - Pure-Fume Brilliant shampoo
rated 2 of 5

This shampoo made my hair dry and unmanageable. Love Aveda Sap Moss and Damage Remedy, but I can't figure out why anyone would like this shampoo, let alone pay that price for such a bad product. Am so glad this isn't the first Aveda product I tried!

Lip Treatments -Yves Saint Laurent - Exfoliating lip balm
rated 5 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 4:43:00 PM

I guess this product belongs in the category of items you never knew you needed, but once own, can't imagine living without it! It exfoliates the lips much better and more evenly than any other methods I know of. I always have a big problem with dry, chappy lips in the winter, no matter what I use. This really removes the dead chappy skin on my lips, so that it can absorb moisture, and that keeps them from becoming dry and sore, and in turn more chappy, Smells fresh of mint, and the pink and golden little tube is cute.

Lotions/ Creams -Shiseido - Advanced Essential Energy body revitalizing emulsion
rated 5 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 4:10:00 PM

Hands down the best body lotion I've ever tried. Perfect, except for two things: I don't really like the smell of it, and it's too small. I don't mind paying abit for a great product, but this one is only 200 ml, and empties so fast that it's annoying. The good parts: it softens the skin like you would never believe. It renews the skin - literally. It's light and silky, almost gel-like in texture. The furthest thing from being sticky you can ever get in a body lotion. I once applied this on some parts of my body, and two diffent other lotions on the rest. You could actually see the difference the next day where I'd applied this one, no kidding! A pump wouldn't hurt. Hope they never discontinue this.

Blush -Helena Rubinstein - Color Statement For Cheeks 12 Adopt Apricot
rated 3 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 3:41:00 PM

This is the perfect color for me - as it appears in the case. I'm a sucker for peachy-apricot shades, and love the NARS Orgasm blush, as an example. This one has never impressed me though, I just never really startet using it. I don't really know what it is, maybe its too orange or yellow-y, or maybe it's too pigmented. I am not in love with the consistency of it either, too matte and doesn't blend too well onto the skin - maybe it's not that moisturizing compared to my other blushes? Anyway, that also makes it hard to achieve that fresh peachy- cheek look.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Prrr
rated 4 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 3:11:00 PM

This color is a nice frosty nude-pink. It lasts forever, like all the lipsglasses, and it makes the lips soft - but it is sticky. I'm not a fan of the frosty look, but I guess this is a great allround nude-pink color, if you don't mind that frosty hint. Would probably not by this shade again, but still gave it 4 lippies because it is a great quality product, and a neutral pretty shade.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Florabundance lipglass
rated 5 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 3:03:00 PM

Although this color is way to pale for me by itself, I am addicted to it because I use it to blend with my other peachy//apricot lipglosses to get that nude, peachy JLo-look. My lips are pretty pigmented naturally, but when I blend this with other peachy colors it turns out great, looks so natural. All the lipglasses are sticky, but they also last forever because of that consistency - and makes the lips soo soft, almost like a treatment.

Bronzers -Guerlain - Terracotta Bronzing powder
rated 5 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 2:51:00 PM

This is the original bronzer, worthy of all the fuzz. It's great and long lasting, perfectly fine powdered with a very subtle shimmer. I made the mistake of bying other bronzers and forgot how great this was, until I tried it again. I might try other bronzer just for fun, sometime in the future...but this is a staple in my collection from now on and until eternity.:-D I have this in # 02, and my skin is fair-to medium and a bit yellow toned. Such a classic and elegant case too!

Sunscreen -Vichy - Capital Soleil Creme Protectrice Visage SPF 20
rated 5 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 2:23:00 PM

This is a great sunscreen that can compete with other brands that are double or tripple its price. It has this calming effect on the skin, which is wonderful for a sunscreen, as the sun is a burden on the skin itself, and this makes it better prepared for it. The fragrance is almost the best thing about it, it smells light and fresh, and not at all heavy or sweet like many other sunscreens. It absorbes well, and isn't sticky at all. I havn't bothered to try other sunscreens after this one since it works so well, I use the body version of this too. Highly recommend!

Sunscreen -Decleor - Aroma Sun Protective Hydrating Spray for face and body
rated 1 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 1:35:00 PM

This sunscreen spray made my skin react horribly. From this brand (a skincare line for dermatologists), and at this price - I certainly expected more! Ironically, it contains essential oils from rose, that's supposed to calm the skin. I have lots of other skincare products that contain natural rose (REN, Durance; L'Occitane), but I don't react to any of them. It is also the first sunscreen that I've ever had a negative skin-reaction to. It's really oily on the skin, although it's a spray, and my skin looked really shiny and felt like it couldn't breathe - and then the redness, large pores and irritation came.

Cleansers -Ren - Rose Centifolia Facial Wash-Normal skin
rated 4 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 1:20:00 PM

I was really happy with this cleanser, I read the reviews in here, and was satisfied after trying it. It has a gel consistency, but foams up a litttle bit. It's mild on the skin, and I really love the fact that it contains none of the artificial ingredients so many others skincare products have. Beautiful subtle rose petal scent. However, I was susprised to see the different result when I bought the cleansing milk from Matis, which is also for normal skin - the latter one really made my skin more beautiful, and so I've since used the REN cleanser very rarely. I can't really put my finger on what the difference between the two is (other than the result on my skin, of course), and I have nothing negative to say about this facial wash. I just found something better. The packaging could improve a bit, as the soft inside container shrunk on a mountain cottage trip I was on, probably because of the pressure from the height -difference - but all my other beauty items came trough perfectly fine.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Matis. Réponse Jeunesse. Freshness Lotion
rated 5 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 12:57:00 PM

Just like I wrote in the review of the cleansing milk that goes with this (freshness cleansing emulsion), this is an excellent classic-type skin tonic to be used as a finishing lotion after the cleansing milk. Like its counterpart, its mild, but still efficient. I've been able to use this even in bad skin-reacting periods, although it's not for sensitive skin. Still, it also manages to cleanse and refine pores really well on a normal skin too. Pretty amazing. Fantastic smell, smells soo fresh! Highly recommend to all, as it is a great basic cleanser that will suit most.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Matis. Réponse Jeunesse. Freshness cleansing emulsion
rated 5 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 12:40:00 PM

An excellent classic-type cleansing milk from the excellent skincare line Reponse Jeunesse by Matis. It does wonders for my skin, makes it calmer and the pores smaller, while it cleanses well too. It is really mild, but not like those mild cleansers that doesn't do much for your skin - thin one really works. I've even used this a period where I used the Matis skincare line for sensitive skin, as this one worked better than the cleansing milk from that line, and it was still just as mild. I thought I was happy with my facial wash from REN (rosa centifolia) before I tried this, but this just made my skin soo much more beautiful, I'd forgotten how important a cleanser alone can be:-) Hygienic pump too, and nice packaging that has lasted me for long on trips, in suitcases etc.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Slim. Heated Eyelash Curler
rated 5 of 5
MsPucci 8/4/2008 9:05:00 AM

I bought this heated eyelash curler on ebay, and it's the first one I've ever tried. I must say, the world before and after owning a heated eyelash curler is not the same! You're supposed to use it AFTER you've applied mascara, and the thought of that took some getting used to for me... But it works like a genious! It's not at all 'heated' in a curling iron-sense of way, it's a very, very mild heat, so it doesn't tear on your lashes at all. I actually think it's more gentle on the eyelashes than the normal eyelash curlers I used to use before. It takes 30-60 seconds to heat it, and then you just press the lashes upwards with it and hold for a couple of seconds. It makes my eyelashes stay curled the whole day until I remove my makeup, and makes them look like Bambi-lashes. The pen is the same size as a thin mascara. It uses one AA-battery, and the battery could've lasted a bit longer in my opinion. Couldn't do withouth it!
