Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #3
MsCatty333 7/27/2011 9:37:00 PM
I am a 35 year old Chinese lady with oily skin. During my teenage years, I had really bad acne which has lasted into my early 30s *gasp!!* and I just recently, I have had to go back onto Roaccutane yet again. So when I say this is THE BEST toner for oily skin, I really mean it! I have tried other toners but #3 which is specially formulated to oily skin works the best for me. I know some ladies dislike the alcohol content in it (there is a line which does not have alcohol) but I think that is the essential ingredient of this toner. It literally does what it says on the bottle "the tingling sensation tells you that it's working!". My face feels and looks dull when I don't use this and as we all know, as you get older, your skin turnover is slower and this toner acts as a marvellous exfoliater in that way. I use it morning and night with a cotton pad, after washing my face and despite that, you can still see residual makeup on the pad!! In short, this is an EXCELLENT toner which exfoliates, helps get rid of residual makeup post-clensing and also helps in evening out my skin and dry spots. Anyone with oily skin should have this on their vanity table!!!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
MsCatty333 7/26/2011 7:36:00 PM
I succumbed to all the hype and bought this at MECCA, here in Australia. And as all Aussie Gals know, makeup prices here are exorbitant when compared to the rest of the world!! (why?????). But I really wanted to give my 2 cents worth on this cult product: Firstly, I was new to makeup and looking back now, I was completely in love with Orgasm as I really didin't own a coral, peachy blush in my (then) small makeup collection. The coral coloured Orgasm completemented my Chinese, B40, olive skin tone perfectly!!! And you really only needed the smallest amount on your blush brush so the product goes a long way. It is very shimmery which some girls may or may not like. In summary, if you are a Chinese or oilive toned skinned lady looking for a lovely blush, look no further. Coral blushes I've found look best on me and the NARS Orgasm does wonders to brighten up my face. A little product goes a long way so this blush will last you a lifetime, if not longer! Is it worth it? Lets just say, it's a cult favourite and I can see why so many women rave on about it. But if you already own a similar coloured blush, then you can definitely live without it.

Blush -Chanel - Joues Contraste in Espiegle
MsCatty333 7/14/2011 9:12:00 PM
The Jous Contraste blushes are such objects of beauty but this particular blush is simply amazing! I own a couple of Chanel's blushes but this one is certainly my favourite, For your reference, I am an oilve skinned B40 in Matt Lumiere and Vitalumiere Aqua Chinese girl and this gorgeous peach blush sits beautifully on my non-existent cheek bones. The beauty about this blush is that you can be very heavy handed with the product which I quite like as you don't get the much dreaded clown effect. Also, I've discovered after many blush purchase later, that an olive toned gal like me suits peach/coral blushes better and this is definitely my HG blush :) Perfect for everyday wear! A must buy!

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua
MsCatty333 7/12/2011 7:55:00 PM
I finally succumbed to all the hype and purchased this foundation at Myers in Australia for the full price of AUD77!!! I thought I had found my HG foundation years ago in Chanel's Matt Lumiere. Back then I had oily skin which was prone to breakouts. The Matt Lumiere does an excellent job of evening out my skin tone and also concealing my freckles. And it does it without me having to feel like I have foundation all over my skin which is fab! And then I tried the Vitalumiere Aqua and hello!!! This little baby is not only packaged well (love the teeny, tiny, chic bottle!) but has a fabulous smell which my Matt Lumiere does not. Every time I apply it (with fingers), the smell evokes memories of my Mummy and how I would watch her apply her makeup when I was a child. The smell doesn't last all day which is also fine by me. The formula is as sheer as anything and goes on so smoothy! I am currently on Roaacutane and have dry skin now but this foundation doesn't emphasise any dry lines. It's VERY lightweight so for those used to heavy foundations may find it a bit too sheer but I love it! I set it with Chanel's Translucent Powder but you hardly need to do that either. I love it so much that I will put on my makeup even though I have no where to go!! :):) Try it ladies, you'll love it :):)

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 109 Small Contour Brush
MsCatty333 7/6/2011 8:38:00 PM
I was looking for a bronzer/contour brush and well, this is what the 109 is made for! I have to admit, I have a rather love-hate relationship with the 109. At first, I thought it was too small and it's rather flat dome shaped brush head, odd. But then, just as it's name describes it ("small", "contour"), I realise that with practise and use, it does exactly what it is meant to do. Lisa Eldridge as a great video on the basics of contouring on YT and she also points out that this is her favourite brush to apply bronzer with. The only gripe I have about it is that it STILL SHEDS when washing and I've had this for a year now. It doesn't bleed colour thankfully (none of my MAC brushes have btw) but I am rather upset that it sheds considering the amount of money I had paid for it. Overall, I would highly recommend this brush for contouring your cheekbones as it's small brush head deposits the bronzing powder exactly where you need it and also buffs it out very nicely. Have fun ladies!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Corfu
MsCatty333 7/4/2011 9:14:00 AM
I was recommended this by the MUA at Mecca. But just like the others, this creased like crazy. Lovely all-over-the-lid colour though, which is really a pity. I would rather spend my moolah on MUFE cream eyeshadows which I tested in Sephora and they appear to have more staying power. In summary: Creases badly, gorgeous colour, will NOT re-purchase.

Eyeliner -Chanel - Stylo Yeux Waterproof Ebene
MsCatty333 6/7/2011 9:26:00 PM
I am a 35 year old Chinese lady and I wear eyeliner everyday on my top lash only. I have tried Anna Sui and thought MAC's Power Points and Technakhols were my HG's until I decided on a whim to try Chanel. OMG, how did I live without this product???? I have oily lids and the MACS always used to smudge at the end of the but Chanel is smudge proof! I have since repurchased this 3 times in the Noir and just recently bought the Espresso as well which I have fallen in love with! I can't believe I only ever lined my eyes with black! If you are looking for a fabulous eyeliner, this is it. Look no further!
