Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense Liquid Moisturizer SPF 50

This is a pretty good moisturizer. Given that it has such a high SPF it doesn't really leave me greasy or shiny. It absorbs right into my skin leaving behind no residue. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't do much for the look/feel of my skin. I realize it's primary function is to serve as a sunscreen but, I like a product to be multipurpose.

I hated this. I am not very sensitive to odors and fragrances. But this conditioner smells so strong I had to follow it with another conditioner just to mask that strong perfumey smell. It also wasn't super effective for me, I wasn't too impressed. Although, even if it did work wonders for my hair that odor is too much for me. Never again.

Cleansers -Giovanni - Purifying Face Cleanser (D:tox System)

I like this, but I don't love it. It keeps my skin fairly blemish free and is not overly drying. But, it hasn't done much for the texture or clarity of my skin. My skin isn't worse but I like a cleanser to improve the look and feel of my skin not just maintain it. I love that it's organic but it's overall so-so for me.

Rumor has it that petroleum jelly is bad for you? Please tell me that's not true! I have very dry skin and I use this right after I shower while my skin is still very damp. My skin remains so moisturized and baby soft. Nothing compares to Vaseline. I have since switched to organic shea butter which also works well. But, I find that it sits on the surface of my skin. I prefer the Vaseline. One lippie off for questionable toxicity.

My 4c ladies and gents stay AWAY from this shampoo. It is soooo drying. My hair was always a tangled mess after using this. Also, after continued use, my cap wouldn't close. It wasn't clogged, I rinsed and cleaned the bottle with each use. It just wouldn't stay closed. I struggled to finish this, I really wanted to just throw it away. Never again.

HG. I've been using these pads for at least the last 6/7 years. I don't use them daily anymore, but whenever my skin is misbehaving I reach for this. For me it works best when I use it at night after a mild exfoliation or after a steam facial. I wake up to baby smooth, *clear* skin everytime. Sometimes I stray bc I like to try new things but I always, always come back to this. If you do not have a sensitivity to salicylic acid and can incorporate this into a good skin care regimen your skin will glow.

Conditioner -TRESemme - Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner

Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. My 4c type hair is no match for this conditioner. Its moisturizing and most importantly for me an excellent detangler. After I shampoo I apply this to my hair and leave it on for a few minutes. I then detangle (tip to roots) with a wide/long tooth comb. I also use a little as a leave in for added moisture. This has really helped me with my transition from relaxed to natural hair. Before this, I really didn't think that I could do it. Oh! And you can't beat that price. Just thinking about it makes me want to run to Target to stock up! (One lippie off because I do miss the slip of silicone conditioners, but this is much better for the health of my hair).

Hair -Kinky Curly - Knot Today leave-in conditioner

Yeahhhh, I don't know about this one. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. I returned it after one use. I have a few inches of 4c new growth and this really did nothing for me. For that price I was expecting to be more impressed, but meh...not so much. Now to detangle I mix Tressame naturals conditioner, Africa's Pride moisturizer, Giovanni's direct leave in and water in a spray bottle. It works wonders, roots detangle like a dream.

Masks -Boots - Botanics conditioning clay mask

I love this mask. I've been using it off and on for months and it works really well. What sets this apart from other masks for me is that you can see it actually working and it isn't overly drying. Initially I was actually kinda grossed out by all of the little black oily regions! I use this after giving myself a nice steam facial. Definitely one of my few HG products. This is a must have for anyone with oily skin.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup

I really do enjoy this foundation. Before this I used maybelline dream matte mouse and that was okay but the transfer was unreal and it made me pretty oily. I don't know how many bottles of the colorstay I've gone through. A pump would definitely be better/more hygienic but I usually don't have a problem getting the last drop or two out when it finished. Nice light to medium coverage (I often have to use with a concealer though as it doesn't cover dark acne scarring). Great color match (caramel). I'm just not a fan of the packaging and I wish it had an SPF. Also, is it me or does the new "24 HR" formula seem a bit oilier? Overall, I'll keep buying until I find my HG.

Mascara -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara

Pros: all natural and does not leave my lashes stiff but very soft. Cons: This mascara wears off easily. By the end of the day the tips of my lashes are bare. I am trying to transition to all natural products, but this mascara does not deliver for me.

Powder -Clinique - Perfectly Real Compact Powder Foundation

This product leaves a really nice, smooth finish when you first put it on and seems to do a good job at controlling shine.However, within a couple of hours, the oil breaks through and I have to keep reapplying. I have been looking for a powder that I can use as a setting powder to help control my oiliness for the majority of the day. Although this looks nice initially, the staying power doesn't last. Returning it.
