Moisturizers -Shiseido - Eudermine
Moopeh 4/21/2013 7:30:00 PM
For the longest time I've had really dramatically combination skin, horribly dry flakes on my cheeks and around my nose, but I was so oily at the same time. It made makeup cake up so easily and my skin looks older and uneven. I would dry it up with harsh cleansers, but the creamy ones were too oily for my skin. I tried chimical exfoliants, physical exfoliating to get rid of the flakes, and even with primer, everything still caked on my face. Enter Eudermine. This stuff is PERFECT for dehydrated skin. I use this with the shiseido cotton pads, and my skin feels and looks a million times better. My makeup has a much smoother canvas to glide over so I can now get away with wearing products that I use to love.

Blush -Sleek - Scandalous Blush
Moopeh 2/5/2013 1:24:00 PM
Scandalous is a matte red blush and it's perfect partner is a red lip. I put this on using a goat blush brush with a light hand (i take some off on the back of my hand before I apply it) If you build it up and blend it slowly, you can have a nice in from the cold natural flush or beautiful red blushing cheeks. On me it pulls a neutral red, and therefore is very versatile with lots of different shades of eyeshadow and lipstick. I've worn it when my skin was an nc35 and I love it.

Blush -Sleek - Santorini
Moopeh 12/21/2012 5:09:00 AM
I love this blush. It's a bright pigmented matte fushia, and it's so so so pretty. You can make this really subtle and beautifying with a light wash or kick it up and do a blush heavy look. On my golden skin it warms up a bit, it's not a cool pink, it looks more neutral, but it doesn't turn red, it's still a girlish pink. Love! EDIT: Since finding blushes with better textures that apply mroe smoothly, I'm bringing this down to a 4, however this blush is still lovely and great value for money, just takes more work.

Lipstick -Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Lip Tar
Moopeh 11/17/2012 7:38:00 AM
I have a lip tar in the shade Nylon, and I LOVE IT. Lip tars are minty smelling liquid lipsticks that come in a variety of bright shades and they are easily mixable. Mine came with a little lip brush (I ordered from sephora online) and it applied so esily with the brush. -I love the satin matte finish. -I love being able to wear it sheer or completly opaque (needs a lip liner if you want to go FULL hog) -Bright neon pink colour. Great Pigmentation. Stays on, looks great. ----- You need to prep your lips to wear these. You also need a lip brush. If you're ok with those two, say hello to a lovely product. EDIT 04/2013: This settles into my lip lines, I have plush full lips, so this is annoying that I have to line them to wear this product... This unique colour is still lovely.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
Moopeh 8/15/2012 7:27:00 PM
Ah Nars Sheer Glow, If only my skin had a great texture, you would look lovely. My Skin and Expectations I wanted medium coverage in a foundation that matched my olive/golden undertones. I wanted an even skintone and to hide some of my scars. I wanted it to last 8 hours with powder. My skin is recovering from acne, I have weird hormones, so it's very oily in some places and very dry in others. I have surface dehydration but I exfoliate regularly. Because I get breakouts occasionally, when the breakout heals, there's dry skin where the cyst was (my cysts are deep and can be painful, I use a 3rd gen retinoid/BP product to get deep in the skin and clean out the cyst). When I exfoliate (chemically or physically) I look like I have smooth skin. Cons: This didn't look natural on me. It created dry flakes out of no where, Even when I warmed it up and used my fingers, it just didn't look nice. It made m blackheads look huge and after a few hours my monster pores looked AWFUL. Now my skin isn't great and is a work in progress, but despite wearing it very very sheerly, or over primer, I just could not get this to work. It caked on breakouts, it highlighted flakes, it even highlighted my baby hairs all over my face. With powder it would stay on for hours, without, oh goodness. Pros I bought this before my skin became awful, before the pores, the acne, before the flakes, and this looked lovely on me. Barcelona is too peachy but the perfect nc40 depth. Packaging There is no pump. Hello Bacteria. The Glass Bottle is durable and heavy though, it's very pretty. Would I buy this again? No, I require a lot more from a foundation, this just didn't deliver.

Liquid -Becca - Luminous Skin Color sheer foundation
Moopeh 8/15/2012 7:15:00 PM
Becca LSC provided gave me sheer very dewy coverage in a perfect colour match. It didn't highlight my dry spots and with powder on top, lasts all day. I use Olive and Bamboo depending on the time of year. I range from nc35 (winter) to nc42 (deep tan). My Skin and Expectations. When you have a hard to match skintone the elusive pull of Becca products can be a strong but expensive endevour. I paid a lot of money for Becca products (shipping and duties) I have acne prone combination skin. A very oily T zone and very dry cheeks. I get flakes sometimes, I get blackheads, I have large pores, my skin is not a smooth canvas. I also have hyperpigmentation scars and unevenness in my skin. I wanted this to even out and make my face look smooth but i never expected it to cover scars. It did just that! I have this with the Becca Powders, and honestly just LSC and the powder can make a lovely no makeup makeup base. The loose powder can look cakey when layered, but it's a really lovely TM. If you have trouble with skin texture (fine lines, pores, flakes, bumps) This product will help smooth them out and won't highlight unevenness. I LOVE this aspect of the product because most foundations highlight my awful skin texture and in the end, I look aged flakey and bumpy (Nars sheer glow, SFF). Cons Without powder, this look greasy on my nose after a few hours and starts to fade. I need more coverage on my scars and to make my face flawless. I have dark patches and clusters of scars, I also have redness around my nose, this doesn't cover any of it. This is in NOT a stand alone product unless you have amazing skin. This also has a lot of emollients in it and I always use an oil based cleanser (Pond's cold cream) to take it off at night, followed by a gentle cleanser (my fav is avene) to cleanse the skin. If you don't use an oil based cleanser this will leave residue on the skin and some of it's lest stellar ingredients (isopropyl myrastate) can easily cause breakouts. If you have breakout prone, combination or oily skin, and you pair this with a sunscreen with oil in it, or a moisturizer with lots of oil, you are begging for a breakout. Packaging I think the Packaging is cute. I like that I can see how much is left, the pump dispenses a good amount. However it is cheap. Drop the bottle one and chances are the cap will break. I have several Becca products with this cap and half of them are chipped or cracked. One has the silver spaceship top missing. Becca, make a better cap, you charge an arm and a leg for a small amount of product. Would I buy it again? If money was not a factor yes I would, the finish is dewy and glowy and lovely, especially for winter, however I'm exploring cheaper alternatives.

Blush -Becca - Beach Tint Raspberry
Moopeh 5/30/2012 4:44:00 PM
Becca's beach tint is raspberry is a very pretty product. I was dismayed at how small it was when I got it in the mail. I have to mix it in the tube because fluid was coming out (I don't know how long the site zuneta had it in stock) But once I mixed it by smooshing the tube out came a cream fluid. It's aptly named raspberry. It is a deep berry pink with blue undertones and it's soo lovely, very sheer, very natural finish (not cakey not powdery) Easy to apply. Lovely flush. I like it on my lips as a stain as well, Makes me look like I've been eating berries. It's subtle but it makes a big difference because it was just sooo flattering on my skin. Mac NC37-40, Bobbi Brown Warm Natural, Cover Fx M60 are all matches for my golden skin with strong yellow undertones.

Liquid -Bourjois - 10hr Sleep Effect
Moopeh 4/2/2012 8:18:00 PM
Can't add much to what's been said, so I took photos. Sheer coverage foundation. Great pump, Only colours available for very fair to medium/tan skin tones. No true olive undertones. Strong floral scent. Needs to be removed with a makeup remover (preferably oil based) or it will leave a residue and may lead to breakouts. Here are some swatches, My lovely boyfriend volunteered to help. The first two swatches on him are nc20 in mac studio fix fluid and nc15 in the same foundation. The rest are 10 hour sleep effect, 71 at the left going up in numbers along his arm until his eldbow. The underside of my arm is a bit paler than nc35. 77 starts at my elbow and goes down in numbers along my arm. PS here are the photos. http://img.makeupalley.com/6/9/5/4/2299703.JPG http://img.makeupalley.com/6/9/5/4/2299702.JPG

Foundations -Cover FX - COVER FX
Moopeh 3/26/2012 4:51:00 PM
Cover fx made my cystic acne outbreak bearable and allowed my skin to heal. Description: It's a buildable cream foundation with medium to full coverage. It comes a very wide variety of shades and is devoid of aggravating ingredients. My Skin and Expectations: Last summer I developed very painful cystic acne. I had not only cysts but blackheads whiteheads and run of the mill pimples all over my face. People said it looked painful, and it was. Part of it was hormonal, part stress, and it was horribly aggravated my mac studio fix (shudders). Having painful red cyts, hyperpigmentation marks all over my face, I needed full coverage, I needed good ingredients and I needed a proper colour match. I have golden/olive toned skin. It's in the dark-medium to tan range depending on the time of year. NC37 to nc42. This makes finding a good colour match very hard, most ranges go pink or red once they hit my skintone depth. Coverfx in M60 is a great colour match for me. Cons: The downside to this foundation is you really need a primer for full coverage in this to look remotly natural. You can get away with some spot concealing that will blur imperfections, but to go the full hog and cover everything you need a primer, or else it was settle into lines and flakes and look fake and cakey. This makes an already expensive product more expensive. I didn't use to cover fx primer (overpriced), I use La Roche Posay's cicaplast as a primer (and also to heal and protect my skin). I was also never able to acheive "full coverage" You can still see a hint of my dark hyperpigmentation marks under the makeup, regardless of how many layers are expertly buffed, painted or dabbed onto the skin. Now that my marks are fading (thank you sunscreen) this can give me a flawless face, but when I really needed full coverage this did NOT provide it. Pros: But it did almost everything else right. Most importantly it let me skin heal. Retinoids (adapelene), Benzyl poroxide, it and high sulfur content masks here slathered on my skin day and night. I didn't realise at the time, but I was midly allergic to an ingredient in my moisturizer (the acne.org one) My face was often very red and sore. Cover fx did not aggravate it in the least, My breakouts did not worsen, and my skin improved, along with my self confidence. I would definitely repurchase. Packaging: I frequently disinfect my makeup pan, I spirtz the top layer with rubbing alcohol and rub it off using a clean washcloth or makeup sponge, this has made up for the only drawback about the product's packaging, it can be unhygenic.

Highlighters -Christian Dior - Shimmer Powder 002 Amber Diamond, Spring 08
Moopeh 9/20/2011 4:57:00 PM
I was originally drawn to this product because of the great reviews on MUA. At this price, I had high expectations for this product. I wanted it to be smooth and easy to apply powder, I wanted it to be natural, for the coverage to be easily buildable or incredibly sheer . I wanted it to stay on, and I wanted it to look natural. It passed with flying colours! the colour for me is perfect because it is kind of a golden beige neutral tone. (I range from NC37 to NC42 depending on the time of year) It inexplicably make my skin look smoother and my face look prettier. It does have shimmer, but the shimmer is subtle and faint. Its a very sophisticated shimmer. In the sunlight you can see the shimmer particles so its not for a "no makeup makeup" look. It makes your skin look dramatically better without being dramatic. Try this on the inner corners of your eyes, your cupid bow, a light dusting on the high point of your cheek bones. You use so little and yet there is so much product. If you want a sophisticated powder highlighter and you are a medium to tan skin tone, this is a very flattering highlighter.
