Eye Shadow -MAC - Leopard Luxe Quad
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 3:55:00 PM
NOTE : Style Predator has a more pigmented dupe in Thing from Detrivore cosmetics. This pallet is a good one as long as you're no hell bent on TONS of color from these shadows. Like with most of the Fabulous Felines collection these are meant to provide good every day fall colors and it succeeds in leaps and bounds. These colors are soft, lovely and feminine and when used with the intensity of one of the superslick liners work well to bring out your eyes. Wild by Nature is the color that I have to be careful with on my skin (NC20) because when used as a highlighter on my brown bone it makes my skin look dirty. It's fine when used on other parts of my eye but it just can't be used for it's intended use in the quad because it applies so much darker than it looks. Notoriety is a yummy color that should be considered a good standard color for anyone looking for a brown or dark color to use when doing looks with lots of warm colors. It looks like a very warm black when applied to my skin and works well as a buffer between the two warmer colors in this pallet. Style Predator - for being an orange this is actually highly wearable. It looked good both as a color for my crease and lid. The only thing I would advise someone to look out for is that the color is very soft and muted. So if you want a HIGHLY pigmented color you're not going to get it here. Furiously Fabulous finally completes my black collection by providing me with a very nice, very warm black to use in some of my everyday looks. And this IS a very nice everyday black - I feel like anyone who has to worry about doing makeup for the office should invest in this because the black is just so damn wearable and undemanding on the eye without loosing any of it's flattering qualities.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - The Soft Meow
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 3:44:00 PM
This color is so amazing on my skin when used as a sculpting product. I'm an NC20 and it's hard for me to find good products to highlight and sculpt my face that don't *look* like I'm wearing a ton of product and this is one of the few I've tried that blends seamlessly in with my own skin colors and tones. I will never use another powder again for my contouring! The product it's self is a very soft brown color that's absolutley GORGEOUS both in and out of the pan. The formulation is very, very soft though so be careful when putting your brush in the pan on this one ladies and gents - a little bit goes a long way.

Eyeliner -MAC - Defiantly Feline
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 3:41:00 PM
These liners are incredible - the applicator is a modern marvel making application fool proof and the formula dries in seconds and won't move until you're ready to take it off (1 or 100 hours later, trust me when I say this stuff isn't going anywhere). The only strange part about this product is that sometimes it can feel a bit tacky on the lids hours after application. And while this isn't going to rub off it can be a strange sensation. Defiantly Feline surprised me by being less of a true brown and more of a chestnut with a copper hue to it. This color is really rich and beautiful and has a way of drawing open the eye without looking too loud.

Eyeliner -MAC - Desires & Devices (Superslick Liquid Eye Liner)
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 3:37:00 PM
These liners are probably one of the best products MAC has released this whole year - I can't imagine what my life was like before them! The applicator it's self is made out of a wonderfully resistant felt tip with a very fine tip and an elongated wand which makes doing all sorts of lines, from very thin to very thick, an incredibly easy process. The formula its self is reaaaally quick drying and has incredible staying power! This stuff literally will not budge from your eyelid until you're ready o tell it to. Desires & Devices is more of an olive color than Treat Me Nice and, in my opinion, is a more universal shade of green that would look great on just about anyone and go with any look.

Eyeliner -MAC - Superslick Liquid Eye Liner - Pure Show
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 5:51:00 AM
These Superslick Liners are quickly becoming my favorite products in the MAC family. First - lets address the mater of this wonderful, I mean truly wonderful applicator. It looks and applied like a felt tip but feels so strange that I truly doubt that felt is the actual material being used here. The tip is incredibly fine making both the thinest lines and the boldest ones possible. It has an incredibly springy texture to it as well meaning that the end won't dull or gunk up over time. The color on this surprised me by being less of a true chrome yellow than it was a pure gold. The color is somewhat glittery but it's not so intense that you cant wear it for every day looks around the office. The only thing is that the formula takes forever for it to dry and once it does it remains slightly tacky, or sticky feeling and by the end of the day it can be a bit strange feeling. However if that's the trade off for this products ridiculously long lasting pay off I'm happy to pay it. This stuff goes on early in the morning and survives not only school and work on me but also sleep and breakfast the next day if I pass out in my makeup. So for those of us who don't have the time to reapply liner this is truly a blessing.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Best of Breed
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 5:44:00 AM
In the tube Best of Breed looks like a very cold, muted, almost stone blue. Intrigued by how it might layer over darker colors I went ahead and purchased it since it reminded me of a blue shade of Lavender Wind from the spring colors collection and in application it behaves much the same way. Like with most MAC lipglosses that come in strange colors when applied to the lips it has a way of blending in with your natural lip color and bringing out certain tones and hues both in the skin of your lips and in your face as well - needless to say this is one that does miracles for bringing out cool tones. As for layering, like most MAC glosses this does a fabulous job and when layered over another darker color it both softens the intensity of the darker pigment while adding a genuinely unique over tone.

Lipstick -MAC - The Prowl
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 5:40:00 AM
The Prowl surprised me by being a surprisingly wearable darker brown shade on my skin (NC20). In the tube it looks like a very dark, almost ruddy brown and yet when it applies it still retains all of it's brown shades while showing a playful bit of sable and red highlights. The formulation is incredibly moist for a MAC lipstick and my only complaint is that it does have a habit of moving around a bit so using this over a liner is a MUST.

Eye Shadow -MAC - She Who Dares mineralize shadow duo (Venomous Villains Collection)
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 5:35:00 AM
The colors in this MES are incredible - when I first placed my order the MAC artist I was discussing these with the MAC artist helping me with my order and she mentioned that they really didn't have any other colors like these and after receiving mine today I have to say that she was right. The blue part of this duo is incredibly rich in color and seems to me to be a much more true blue than Blue Flame which was released as part of Style Black last year. The green is an absolute marvel and my favorite color of the two hands down. It also caught me off guard by having veins of white mixed in with it that gives it an incredibly glittery pay off. And make no mistake about it - these colors and packed full of pigment AND glitter. Over all this is a fantastic product that blends very, very well and proves that MAC is finally on track with their MES. A must have for any collection.

Polishes -MAC - Formidable! (Venomous Villains)
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 5:28:00 AM
This was one of the first products that caught my eye when I got the sneak peek of the collection. After putting in my order for it I instantly resigned myself to the fact that while it was probably going to be a very nice color there was no way, no how it would look like the color in the bottle. Imagine my surprise when I found out this wasn't so! Formidable comes out on my nails every bit as gorgeous as it looks in the bottle - perhaps even more so because all of the light blue glittery bits from the darker half of the duo chrome really pop once they're out of the bottle. The color switched back and forth between a dark eggplanty purple with light blue sheen to it to a deep grape color with red highlights. Ever since I put it on I can't stop staring at my nails and I can't wait to show it off at work tomorrow. Truly one of the best shades out of the lot!

Highlighters -MAC - Magically Cool Liquid Powder - Truth & Light
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 5:22:00 AM
Something tells me Dr. Facilier's collection is going to be the last to sell out, which is a damn shame in my opinion because his contains some of the best, multi-functional and universal products of the lot. Anyone who still has doubts needs to look no further than the Magically Cool Liquid Powders that were released as part of this collection. Truth and Light is the lighter of the two shades and when applied to the skin it looks as if it goes on so lightly that you can hardly detect it but when used on the face it transforms into the perfect highlighter. Personally I have a hard time finding highlighters that will really work for me - either the application is strange or they *look* like I'm wearing some sort of product on my face which I don't like - the whole point of sculpting my face is so that it looks like it naturally really IS that way and so most highlighters fall flat. However T&L looks and feels like I'm wearing nothing at all while still providing a gorgeous highlight that's to absolutely die for. And the funny thing is until I tried this I didn't even know how many wonders a powder could do for me - I thought I'd run the gamut of highlighters from every brand but this puts them all to shame. The product its self is a bit strange as well and actually applies on the brush quite wet. I've heard that the powder is something like 70% water and seeing how creepily this stuff moves in the jar I can believe it. However it didn't leave my brushes gunked up or sopping wet strangely enough, which seems like a magic spell in and of its self. Over all I'm disappointed and yet glad that other people aren't sweet on his part of the collection because that means I'm going to have an easier time stocking up on this. And trust me when I say it IS a product worth stocking up on. Trust me when I say that if you ladies and gents don't stock up on this now you will be sorry in the months to come.

Lipstick -MAC - Dark Deed
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 5:12:00 AM
I wasn't certain about buying this one when I got to sneak a peek at the collection before placing my preorder. I'd been buying a lot of dark colors and this reminded me of some of my favorite - almost like a slightly more purpley Kirsch. I'm so glad I ended up ordering one of these now! The color in the tube looks very similar to other MAC shades and yet it manages to stand out once its been applied to the lips, making it a completely unique shade in possession of a color that's all its own. The color is a very deep berry shade with hints of wine thrown in. The application of the product was incredibly smooth - the product is highly moisturizing on the lips and has a nice sheen to it. So for anyone looking for a darker wine/berry lippy that doesn't have a matte finish to it this will be a good choice.

Polishes -MAC - Bad Fairy (LE)
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 5:06:00 AM
I'm not sure why people are giving this polish negative reviews based on the fact that they got a defective brush. Obviously this is a mistake and not everyone of these polishes has one - my brush was just fine. Please remember to stick to the product its self ladies. A lot of people have mentioned that the first coat goes on thinly and it does - so badly in fact that I was freaking out. But after I let the first coat dry a bit I could actually see quite a bit of color in it - it's just when wet it looks rather colorless. Once a second coat was applied the true color came out and much to my pleasure it looked exactly as it did in the bottle. The color is rich and beautiful and I'm so happy that I ended up grabbing a bottle! Would definitely buy again.

Blush -MAC - Briar Rose (Venomous VIllains)
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 5:01:00 AM
In the pan Brian Rose looks like a very dusty mauve color but on the cheeks it goes on fairly sheer. Looking at it I would have assumed that it would go on fairly strong and then be able to layer on even more intensely like with Dolly Mix but the application, while smooth and even, didn't grow too much in intensity. This product is great for every day wear and provides just enough color to be flattering on the face but not so much that it becomes clown like and on my skin tone (NC20) this looked absolutely fabulous. My only complaint is that like with most of the Venomous Villains collection I absolutely detest the packaging. At least the pictures on Maleficent's collection are actually cute but that doesn't stop it from looking like something out of a child's play box. The pictures all look like stickers and the plastic is so damned cheap!

Lipstick -MAC - Innocence, Beware! (Venomous Villains)
Mondenkind 10/1/2010 4:53:00 AM
I have somewhat pigmented lips - they're not a super intense berry shade on their own or anything but they do have quite a bit of natural pink in them so it's been hard for me to find products that can cover up this pigmentation with a very soft nude shade - or even a light pink for that matter. And the trouble is I *like* light pinks - Please Me is a great shade but it still looks like thick lipstick - not so with Innocence, Beware. For how nude it is it goes on highly pigmented without actually looking like a lipstick. The formula is smooth and creamy and has great staying power - after I picked up my order at MAC I went out to a club afterwards and wore this as my color of choice and needless to say it looked great and stayed on through all the dancing, talking and drinking. My only complaint is that this is a LE color and one that's going to be hard to come by at that. I'm going to have to stock up now!

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - Detrivore Cosmetics - Loose Eye Shadow
Mondenkind 8/28/2010 3:39:00 PM
Oh man oh man oh man. I can not stop talking about Detrivore's products! I think all my friends are ready to kill me if I won't keep quiet - I don't care. These eyeshadows are fantastic - they're highly pigmented and so finely milled it's crazy. Touching the shadows with your finer feels like touching air - I'm not kidding, they are just that fine. And the color payoff? Fantastic! Especially when used over their primer. This stuff is just crazy good - no other way around it. One color I was pleased with in particular was Livermortis. I own both MACs Beauty Marked and Young Punk and this is better that both of them together - anyone looking for a very high quality dupe for the Style Black collection look no further. These babies also stayed on all day without creasing or smudging off. I used Killyjoy in combination with some of the colors from my Cult of Cherry Spiced Chocolate quad and the MAC colors came off before the Detrivore ones did. I'm not one to make crazy promises but I am *this* close to swearing off any other makeup ever again.
