Moisturizers -Yes To Carrots - Yes To Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer
MissRivett 11/22/2012 11:56:00 AM
I've been using this for a week or so and so far so good. I picked it up at Target for $15, which is a little pricey for a drugstore brand. The only issue I have with this product is the smell. It is a very strong, somewhat funky smell when first applied, but luckily fades quickly. This moisturizer definitely takes a full 15 minutes to sink in, but doesn't feel too heavy during the wait. My skin hasn't shown any significant improvements or issues, so I'm not sure if I would buy this again. It's great for me moving away from chemical based products to more natural, but isn't anything I'd rave about.
Cleansers -Yes To Carrots - Yes To Blueberries Brightening Facial Towelettes

I've been using these for a few months now and am pretty happy with them. They smell nice, and somewhat lime/citrusy. They get my makeup off pretty well (mascara needs an extra scrubbing). They make my face smooth and soft, and I don't need to wash my face afterwards. They also make my skin look pretty refreshed the next day. So all-in-all I'm happy with them.
No matter how many lip balms, shines, tints, etc etc I buy, I always come back to this one. I have finally given up the fight in finding other lip balms because nothing really compares. I have this in three types: peppermint, cinnamint, and the ultra 2x shine and love all three. They smell and taste great, keep my lips soft and moisturized and actually prevents my lips from getting chapped. May not work great for everyone, but I absolutely love these and have no complaints.
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin
MissRivett 11/11/2012 5:11:00 PM
I'm convinced BBW has some kind of shennagins going on when you go into their store. I loved this perfume when I tried it in the store, but once I got it home, I realize I don't really like it. The cinnamon scent is very strong, almost musky, and the pumpkin smells quite artificial instead of the normal pumpkin scents you come across. I've worn it on and off for about a month hoping it would grow on me, but it just hasn't. Wish I had kept my receipt on this one.
I generally love everything I purchase from Lush, but I feel I completely wasted my time and money on this product. First of all, it stinks. My hubby actually said I smelled like roasted chicken, it was so herby in the cooking way. Secondly, it was very difficult to apply. It leaves a white cast and film on my armpitts, which then transfers onto all my tops. I even tried layering it over top another deodorant, but that just made the smell stronger, with BO added on top. Horrible product.
Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Perversion
MissRivett 4/8/2012 4:42:00 PM
To be blunt, I hate pencil eyeliners. I always try new ones when they come out, but in the end, still prefer liquids. This pencil is the blackest black when it comes to eyeliner. I have to use an angled brush to apply it, because it is very uneven when applied. This pencil, like most, does not stay on my waterline for more than an hour. It does go onto my waterline, which is better than a lot of eyeliners, but does not stay. It actually blurs my vision when used on the waterline so I can't imagine contact users liking this product. I see myself only using this product for special effects based makeups in the future and not for actual eye makeup.
I am a religious lip balm user, but get chapped lips all the time. I have not had chapped lips since using this balm. There is a slight rubbery smell in the tube, but isn't noticeable once applied, and the price was $6.99 at Target. My main issue with this product is that it is so thick. I couldn't get it out of the tube and I spent probably 10 minutes just squeezing the tube thinking it was clogged. I'm convinced you have to warm it up first, but the first few uses were hard. The taste is also pretty bad too. UPDATE: I couldn't really deal with the greasiness and taste of this, so ended up throwing it away. Not worth $7, natural or not.
Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Mat Black 0L
MissRivett 5/24/2011 12:50:00 PM
Bought this for just my waterline, and yet it won't even apply to my waterline. So I spent $22 on an eyeliner pencil for nothing. Going to return this to Sephora since I don't use pencil eyeliners on anything other than waterline. Definitely a waste of time.
Lips -Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Lip Tar - Stalker
MissRivett 5/22/2011 5:42:00 PM
This is a dark blue based red color. It looks amazing on my pale skin and perfectly matches my undertones. So color wise, I love it. While OCC Lip Tars have amazing color payoff, I do not like the feel of them. It is true a little goes a longgggg way, but even the lightest of applications feels like it's going to slide off my lips. I can't stand sticky lip products, so I'm used to smooth feeling stuff, but this just felt slippery like oil. Also they feather like crazy, so you really can't wear these without a lip liner. Also the packaging is TINY! So tiny that $13 almost doesn't seem worth it. I bought the basic colors for mixing purposes and can't ever imagine myself buying one for that specific color. I'd much rather make them myself.
Eye Shadow -Sugarpill - Burning Heart 4-Color Palette
MissRivett 5/22/2011 4:55:00 PM
Amazing colors and pigmentation. Sugarpill is a truly phenomenal company with amazing products. This palette is a little heavy, but it's professional quality with an actual mirror in it. My favorite color is definitely Love+, a true red shade. Buttercupcake is the best yellow I've ever had, Poison Plum is a beautiful blue violet color, and then Flamepoint is a true orange shade with great color payoff. Most oranges I've tried go on sheer, if anything. Definitely a great palette for those wanting bright colors.
Cannot live without this stuff. It really is like a glue for pigments and glitter. I use it over a primer and it works wonders. This is something you only need a little bit of because of the consistency. I also use this for all my swatching since it is the only thing that truly shows the potential of all shadows. My only issue is that Fyrinnae is an indie company with very little workers, so when things go out of stock, they're out for quite a while. Pixie Epoxy was out for months, came back and then sold out within 24 hours. So if you see it in stock, buy it.
Got this from my local theatre store since I've never used a cake liner before. Ben Nye has never really let me down before, but I really didn't like this. It's not a terrible product, but I feel it takes me forever to apply it. It dries out too quickly and I'm constantly reapplying a sealer. Not to mention it's not a very opaque liner, it's go on a little clear in some areas and then dark in others. Great liner for those willing to spend 20 minute applying it.
My favorite base ever. Very creamy and will help any kind of pigment stick onto your lid. A little bit is all you need, just dab it on your lid and blend it out. The price is around $4 at Ulta and I'm on my second pencil. Because it is a larger pencil, you will need a larger sharpener, but I've never had any issues with it.
Very nice toner. Doesn't really even out any redness in my skin, but it does hydrate and close up my pores after washing my face. The price was a little much for the size of the bottle I got, but most Lush products are a little expensive. I like this, but I wouldn't repurchase until I've tried other toners. I do not use the mister, however, I use cotton pads. The mister doesn't give a very even coverage, so it's just better to use cotton pads.
I've had this for quite a while and only seem to ever use it in the summer. I have it in NC 10 and use it as just something to even out my skin tone. It is not a foundation or concealer, simply a setting powder. It's nothing amazing, but I'm using it until I run out.
