Before I start I have to say that I wish NYX products at Ulta had a safety seal. Anyways, I bought Butter Gloss in the shade "Apple Streudel" (a pretty creamy coral) and I adore it! Normally I steer away from corals but this shade actually looks nice on me (I'm NC 20). The gloss goes on smoothly, feels creamy and doesn't feel sticky like other glosses I own. I also enjoy the smell of the lip gloss since it reminds me of vanilla or creme brûlée. There are about twelve different shades so there are plenty to choose from.
I noticed a buy one get one 50% off sale on Khroma beauty products so I decided to try this lip color set in the shade "In the Flesh" which has a pinkish tint compared to the other two sets available. I like the idea of this set since the lip color (a smaller version of the Joystick lip color) has a lip liner on one side and a liner on the other. The lipstick has a light vanilla scent but the liner fell out when I first opened it (I was able to get it back in). The lipstick is very creamy and I really liked how smoothly it goes on without tugging on my lips. The final part of the set is a honey scented lip gloss which looks similar to the "Summer Honey" lip gloss already in the Khroma line. Although I don't mind the strong honey scent I am aware that some people cannot stand the scent. Luckily the scent fades quickly and the gloss nicely compliments the lip color. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase but I wish a full sized version of the Joystick had been included instead.
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Khroma Beauty Honey Pot
MissKisara 4/22/2013 1:05:00 AM
I went to Ulta and I found that they were having a buy one get one 50% off special on Khroma Beauty products and the Honey Pot lip balm was among my purchases. The lip balm is very soft and it has a strong honey scent which might not appeal to everyone. I personally like the scent and I've been wearing this lip balm to bed. Although the balm has a slightly sweet flavor it doesn't bother me and I love how supple my lips are in the morning. I also like the fact that the pot is small enough for travel and it also comes in clear and rose tinted.
Although I laughed hysterically at the absurdity of BB cream for hair curiosity got the best of me when I spotted Pantene BB creme at my local product. I'm honestly a bit lazy when it comes to dealing with my wavy hair and I usually just put a leave in conditioner before blow drying my hair. One thing I like about the BB creme is that I can apply it to dry hair without having it end up lank and greasy looking. The BB creme also helped to combat pesky frizz and flyways. Overall for less than $6 this was a pretty good find and I like it so far.
Although Urban Decay's new Beauty Balm is trying to pass for a BB cream it is not comparable to true Asian BB creams. The formula, which comes in a universal color, goes on fairly sheer and offers very little coverage. Yet the product goes on smooth and it does a fairly good job of minimizing the appearance of pores. I also liked the fact that my skin looked fresh and fairly matte which led me to the conclusion that this product would make a great primer. The product does tout several other benefits (e.g. hydration, sun protection, and anti-aging benefits) so I'll probably keep using it to see how true the claims are.
BB Cream -Skin79 - Diamond Collection Pearl BB Cream

This was part of a sample set I bought but boy was I in for a shock. The first time I tried this stuff on was so embarrassing. My friends took one look at me and said "You look like a sparkly vampire from the Twilight books". This BB cream might be fun for a night out or Halloween, but I would stick to another bb cream for daily use.
I'm really liking this product because it looks very natural on my NC20 skin. Aside from going on smoothly, I love the fact that it helps to lighten old acne marks. Another great thing is that it has sunscreen. This is definitely my new favorite product.
Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Apple By Apple - Super Lash
MissKisara 11/6/2011 1:27:00 AM
On an expedition to the charming Mexican shopping plaza in my town I came across a little beauty supply kiosk. The lady had dozens of Apple brand mascaras in a range of formulas (mamey, avocado, jojoba, aloe, peanut oil, almond, Super Lash, blue colored mascara, brown mascara, waterproof, and clear). I'm not familiar with the brand so I asked the lady running the kiosk which formula was best. Although each has its good qualities she said that Mamey and Super Lash were the top sellers. Needless to say I bought both and paid only $4! Now that I've tried both I think I love mamey! It seriously makes my lashes look dark and luscious! The results are more dramatic than the ones I got with my usual mascaras (Great Lash and Volume Express). The Mamey formula is very wet, pleasantly scented, and has a straight mascara brush. The Super Lash/ Pink and Green mascara comes with a large brush with a shape reminiscent of a pine tree. Unfortunately the tube was on the dry side which means that I need to heat it up in a cup of warm water (or my pocket) before I can apply it. The formula is fairly good (I think it volumizes and lengthens) but I like mamey so much more. The only reason I won't give this product a five star rating is due to the lack of tamper proof packaging. It seriously kind of freaks me out (but the lady had testers out to discourage tampering). Anyways, I did like this mascara since it was good and quite a steal.
Lipstick -Tarte - True Blood LipSurgence Lip Stain
MissKisara 9/27/2011 8:43:00 PM
Although I'm not really into True Blood I do like this stain. The color, as noted by others, is a pinkish red and not a deep red as the tube might lead one to believe. I personally like it since the color looks fresh and playful. I also like the creamy consistency of the tint and the minty scent. I like using this on days when I'm in a rush and don't want heavy makeup. I also like the fact that I can twist the tube in order to get to the product :D. This is definitely a good buy for me.
Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Lip Love Honey-infused Lip Therapy- Stung
MissKisara 8/18/2011 1:59:00 AM
I was initially attracted to this product since it looks similar to Clinique Black Honey. While I was a bit disappointed to see that the gloss went on so sheer, I was pleased when it wore off. Why? Well my lips, which had initially been fairly dry, were nice and smooth. I really like how this product moisturized my lips and I also enjoyed the honey taste/smell. While I probably wouldn't recommend this for someone who expects a lot of color, I would recommend it for someone who enjoys a nice honey scented gloss that doubles as a balm.
I recently came across the Revlon Sweet Temptations display at my local drugstore. Even though there were many different flavors (grapefruit, watermelon, orange, pineapple, mint, grape, and coconut) I decided to go for a green tube in a scent called "Appletini-Fizz". The gloss is a sheer green shade with glitter in it and the scent is reminiscent of a green apple Jolly Rancher. The gloss went on completely sheer and it felt sort of sticky on the lips. I liked this since I'm not really a fan of watery lip glosses. My other favorite thing about this gloss? The taste! I was pleasantly surprised to find that this gloss lives up to its name as a "Flavor Gloss" and it really does have an apple flavor. Its a fun touch that took me back to my teenage years :). Overall, I love this purchase and I may go back for at least one more tube since I'm not sure if this product is limited edition.
I recently ran into these at the 99 Cent Store so I decided to pick one up for nostaligic reasons. Anyways, this wasn't a bad buy! I like the slanted tube on the Lip Frosting (prefer it over a doe foot wand). I also really enjoy the sweet vanilla scent (it reminds me of cake batter), but it does suck that it is unflavored (darn). I like using this as a balm before bedtime and it helps to moisturize my lips very well. Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase :)
I found a coupon for Rimmel lip products and I decided to finally bite the bullet and try out this brand. Although I initially planned to try the lipstick, I decided to try the gloss since it is hard to find a gloss with SPF. I decided to pick up the shade "Purple Rescue" since it is a nice change from my army of red/pink/nude glosses. I must admit that the smell, which is sort of powdery, stunned me a bit since I'm used to glosses being either unscented or vanilla/fruit scented. I don't notice it once it goes on my lips though. The applicator is also a little strange but I don't mind it since it reminds me of the spatula applicators found in some of the Japanese lip glosses I occasionally indulge in. As for the product itself...I like it! The gloss goes on smoothly and it isn't watery or excessively sticky. The color payoff is quite good (although I apply it with a light hand) and I like how smooth my lips feel even after taking it off. I really like it and I think that I might go back to the store and give the other shades (as well as the lipsticks) a try.
I'm sorry but this stuff just plain reeks! It is way too strong and too "old fashioned" smelling. It reminds me of Shalimar and Joy. Unfortunately the scent is so potent that it hurts my lungs and can nearly trigger an asthma attack. While there are people who do wear this on a daily basis, such as a few ladies in my office, I wish they would not apply it so heavily. Sorry Estee Lauder this may be a classic but I'm not a fan.
I was honestly prepared to hate this product based on prior reviews. Anyways, I now realize how wrong I was. While it does feel a bit too heavy/greasy for daytime use it is fantastic before bedtime! My lips are soft, smooth, and incredibly supple in the morning. The only downside, as others have noted, is that you don't much product for the price (I paid $7.50 at an Asian market). I recommend this if you need a nighttime balm.
