Coalface Cleanser is the first Lush skin-care product I have ever used. It is amazing. I love it. I got a small sample (about a gram) of it which lasted me well over a month so I splurged and got an almost 80g slice. (I asked for 50g but the girl said that they weren't meant to cut less than 100g but she would try anyway and she ended up cutting 78g which I was happy with.) It costs $15.25AUD for 100g but I think it is VERY much worrh it for this wonderful product. It is a solid bar soap which you rub on your face. It lathers on your face just like a hand soap would and then you rinse it off with water. Immediately my skin felt less oily and pimples felt less red. It cleared my skin up well and got rid of a lot of blackheads. It also brightened up my complexion immensley. It is easy and lovely to use and smells nicely of licorice which I quite like. It is not a strong smell and doesn't linger on the skin. It is mildly exfoliating but not very. It does not leave any visible marks on my skin from exfoliating as it is very gentle. I would not use this product purely as an exfoliater. The black and silver colour makes this a pretty soap and I cannot praise it enough! I love Coalface, all oily skinned beauties should use it! I would not reccommend it to those with dry skin.
Fair Trade Foot Lotion is a foot lotion by Lush which is bright pink and contains peppermint and spearmint. The scent isn't a strong in-your-face mint (like toothpaste, for example) but smells more like chewing gum. It contains arnica which gets rid of pain, bruising and swelling. After applying, it makes your feet feel cool and absorbs quickly, so your feet don't feel too greasy. It makes my feet feel soft, refreshed and has helped with my dry heels. It also helps to prevent foot odour. It is a nice product and if your feet need a bit of pampering, then you should get it. :)
Lemony Flutter cuticle butter is a thick, pastel yellow butter that smells like sherbet lemons. It almost melts onto your skin and makes your hands and cuticles feel soft and your nails feel tough. It is a very luxurious product and very effective. A very little goes a long way so even though the size may seem small, it will last for a very, very, very long time! This is a much loved product and I can see why! You won't regret this purchase!
Skincare - Body -LUSH - The Melting Snowman bath melt
MissJenn909 1/26/2012 5:34:00 AM
Melting Snowman was the first Lush bath melt I have ever used and I LOVED IT! The shape of it was soo cute and when I put it in the water, it immediately started to melt and make my water opaque and milky. It smells delicious, like cocoa butter and marzipan. It made my skin feel very, very soft and moisturised. I suffer from flakey heels and when I got out of the bath, my heels were not dry or flakey at all, a first for me! I absoultely loved this product and wish it was available all year round but now I will definitely try more Lush bath melts. :)
Fragrances -LUSH - Gorilla Perfume - The Smell of Freedom
MissJenn909 1/21/2012 10:14:00 PM
(This review is about the SOLID version of this perfume). The Smell Of Freedom is a very interesting Lush perfume. In the tube, it smells quite citrussy with a spicy/woody undertone. On my skin, however, the perfume's jasmine notes come out quite strongly along with the sandalwood scent. It is quite a warm, unisex fragrance. It is a nice smell, but not one of my favourites and while I will finish this tube, I will not repurchase. -EDIT- The smell of this really did not work for me, even after trying to like it. I have put it in the bathroom as a room air-freshener type of thing. Sorry Lush, not one of your best.
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It is the second shower jelly that I have used (The Joy Of Jelly was my first). I love the scent, it smells like sour blackcurrants and sour cherries though Lush say that it also contains coconut and bergamont. It is really fruity and lovely. It kind of smells like a sour version of The Comforter. I think it is my favourite shower jelly. The scent lingered on my skin and I was also really suprised at how soft it left my skin. I was amazed, I didn't even want to moisturise because my skin was so soft (but I did! Haha). I use this by breaking off a little bit of the jelly by scooping it up with a plastic spoon and then breaking it up on my sponge and in my hands and it creates a LOT of lather which I love!! It is an amazing product and I would reccommend it to anyone! :D
Lip Treatments -LUSH - It Started with a Kiss Lip Tint
MissJenn909 1/10/2012 7:58:00 PM
It Started With A Kiss is my favourite lip tint ever!! It is a lovely red colour which can be built up. It starts as a sheer, red tint and makes your lips look bitten, popsicle stained or as though they have just been kissed. It can be built up to a bright red for the evening. It has a strong smell which I LOVE though some might find it overpowering. It has a warm scent of white chocolate, cinnamon and apples. To use the balm, you need to rub your finger on it for a few seconds to warm it up before applying. It is easy to apply and spreads easily on your lips. The colour lasts for ages and does not fade away easily. I absolutely love this product!
It's Raining Men is a Lush shower gel that smells just like Honey I Washed The Kids soap but I feel like it is slightly more florally. It smells divine, I love it! It is very bubbly and lathers well, a little bit goes a long way! It leaves a lasting scent on my skin. I love Lush shower gels and this one is another great one! It's back for good! (In Australia anyway!)
I really, really, really wanted to enjoy this bath ballistic but I didn't! I LOVE the scent of it, it smells like fresh apples with a hint of floral but when I put it in the bath, it just disappoints. It doesn't change the water into any particular colour and it promises a layer of fluffy, white foam but it didn't deliver! So White takes about 5-7 minutes to dissolve but when it's gone, it's gone and there is no fun coloured water and no bubbles or foam. All that's left is a gentle scent but the scent did not stick very strongly to my skin after the bath. I was really disappointed by how this product turned out.
Big Apple Red is my new go-to red. I absolutely love it! Having never been a huge fan of reds before, I bought this after having a pedicure done with another OPI red called The Thrill Of Brazil which I loved so much that I decided to buy a bottle of it. However, my local OPI shop did not have The Thrill Of Brazil in stock so I picked up Big Apple Red as I thought it was the closest match. I am sooo glad I bought it! It is a shiny, crisp, true red that does not lean towards either orange or blue, making it universally flattering. It is perfect in two coats, but one could get away with only using one coat if they were in a hurry. It is easy to apply, very shiny without topcoat and dries very quickly. I would rate this 5 out of 5 and would reccommend it to EVERYONE!
The Joy Of Jelly is the first Lush shower jelly I have ever used and I LOVE it!! I got it for Christmas from my Mum and I am so happy she got it for me. A little really goes a long way with this product. What I do is scoop a little bit out of the container using a plastic spoon, then I smoosh some on my sponge where it makes mountains of bubbles and then I rub it all over. :) It has a divine flowery, jasmine scent which is soft, sexy and girly. It is a really fun product to use as it is exactly like real jelly, squishy and awesome. I store mine in the fridge to keep it cool and jelly-like.
Lotions/ Creams -OPI - Avojuice- Cran and Berry Juicie
MissJenn909 1/2/2012 10:00:00 PM
OPI Cran & Berry Avojuice handcream has a really nice, sweet scent. To me, rather than smelling fruity, it smells like sherbert. It is very moisturising and helps keeps my hands soft and smelling great!
Lotions/ Creams -OPI - Avojuice in Coconut Melon Juicie
MissJenn909 1/2/2012 9:39:00 PM
I really like the OPI Avojuice handcreams but this is my least favourite scent of the lot. It is moisturising but the scent is just not right for me. It smells very coconutty and I don't pick up a lot of melon. I wouldn't reccommend this handcream, but the other ones are good. :)
Vanilla Dee-Lite is a liquid body lotion from Lush with contains vanilla, kiwi fruit, coconut butter and illipe butter. It smells very sweet and vanillary with a slight hint of kiwi which stops it from being sickenly sweet. I really love the scent! It absorbs very quickly and does not leave my skin feeling oily in the slightest. It soaks right into my skin, rather than sitting on top. A little goes a long way and you only need a very small dollop on each limb. I would really reccommend this to everyone though some may find it a tad expensive.
I love Lush showe gels and Glogg did not let me down! The smell is interesting - it smells like mulled wine and is a warm, spicy scent. However, the scent did not stay on my skin as well as the Snow Fairy scent did. Glogg lathers up extremely well and a little goes a long way and creates loads of bubbles, which I love! I would reccommend this to anyone - boy or girl - who loves warm, spicy scents. This is a perfect Winter/Christmas time shower gel. To me, Glogg is a clean scent, perfect for when you feel like you need a good scrub.
