Scrubs -Bath and Body Works - Aromatherapy eucalyptus spearmint sugar scrub
MissHTinker 5/18/2012 10:46:00 PM
i really love this stuff. i gave the price a 3, even though it's not that expensive- but it's a lot of money for the cheap ingredients. the packaging is nice, but the slick plastic lid is annoying because my hands are already all oiled up from it so it's almost impossible to open once i'm already in the shower. i love the fresh, crisp, relaxing scent and i love the smooth feeling it leaves behind. my only real gripe is the size of the sugar- very big, so it doesn't spread into a nice layer, it just stays in big chunks that take a while to spread around. very happy with this and unless i just happen to find something better, i will repurchase. i plan on giving these as gifts to stressed friends and family bc it's such a nice personal luxury.

Liquid -Merle Norman - Luxiva Lasting Foundation
MissHTinker 10/16/2011 9:32:00 PM
This is hands down the best foundation I've ever used. I have the palest of pale skin, which is a challenge in it's own- and on top of that, I'm very yellow. Pale colors are always too pink, and darker ones cover the pale skin that I love, but this foundation in Cream is absolutely perfect. Awesome coverage when applied with fingers, perfect matte finish, and amazing lasting power. I use this all the time, even with my extremely dry skin. With a moisturizer, I look great in this foundation

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Gel Creamliner (all)
MissHTinker 11/27/2010 6:46:00 PM
I loved these liners. I bought the package for green eyes, which turned out to be one of the very few prodcuts that ACTUALLY enhanced my green eyes. There is plenty of product in each container if you don't use the same one daily (why would you if you had three choices?). The green is my favorite- it's fun but it maintains a natural look. The brush is very handy and applies the liners smoothly and accurately. Like any liner, it takes a swing or two to get used to it, but when you do, it's super easy and quick!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
MissHTinker 11/27/2010 6:40:00 PM
I love this mascara more than any other I have ever tried before. I almost always layer a volumizing mascara over a lengthening, but this was everything I needed in one bright purple package! My lashes are naturally long and they curve upward on their own, so (I know I shouldn't complain) most mascaras just make them more black. But this stuff made them so beautiful! People ask if I'm wearing falsies all the time!

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
MissHTinker 10/12/2010 12:19:00 AM
Alright, my initial thoughts were a bit disappointing. I thought this stuff was too wet and not good on coverage. Well I tried it again and it's been working great! I've never found a foundation pale enough, but finally, this worked! I bought it in the cool alabaster shade and it's a TRUE match =]. I did have to pour it into a different container though, because I couldn't control the amount that was dispensed from the original package, though it is a nice little bottle. I just stiple this on every day with a dry sponge and cover with a sheer finishing powder and I swear my skin is absolutely radiant! I'm super pale so I have a natural blush, but this stuff actually covers that redness (which is great for my red chin and the area around my nose). I don't even need a concealor! I love this product and I will buy it forever. Pale girls- this is the stuff for you!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
MissHTinker 1/15/2010 11:15:00 PM
I like the more dramatic look for my lashes, so this mascara was pretty decent. It pretty much gives you the results you ought to expect from any drugstore mascara. I liked how black it went on, which is a big pro. It really does add pretty good volume and decent length. You have to really play around to get the length right, though. Don't let it dry between coats or you'll have tiny clumps everywhereeee. Otherwise, building should be easy. For best results, I start at the root and slowly wiggle my way up using only the front half of the brush. My only real complaints: It crumbles easily, it smells funky, and it comes off way too easy if your eyes are touching anything. I'd probably repurchase, as those are minor cons.

Eyeliner -Palladio - Liquid Eyeliner
MissHTinker 6/27/2009 3:05:00 PM
I absolutely love this product! I recently bought 2 different colors during a sale at Ulta. I chose the Lavender and Black/Brown. I meant to get Bronze instead of Black/Brown, but the liner is so great that I decided not to return it. The Lavender, which is really more of a deep purple or plum, is great for bringing out the green in my eyes, which I love since my eyes tend to look gray if I don't play up one of the undertones in them. The Black/Brown really brings out the blue too :) The applicator is super easy for me to use. I think that if you're unpracticed with liquid liner, this would be a good starter product, but it's perfect for experienced users too! If I have anything bad to say about this product, it's the fact that it is thin liquid and may not go on totally even. But that's not bad enough to take off any lippes!

Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-Color Trio for Blues
MissHTinker 6/27/2009 2:49:00 PM
I decided to try this stuff out since Ulta was having a sale on Almay cosmetics. I have a grey-blue-green eye color, hazel if it's bright outside (haha). So I can usually wear any colors meant for blue, green, or, on ocassion, hazel eyes. I wanted to bring out the blue in my eyes, which is probably a medium to clear blue. I was happily surprised with this product. The colors are well pigmented and they go on smooth and blend fairly well. I don't use the applicator enclosed; I use my own tools. I don't use the lightest blue unless I want a sheer cover over my lids for quick trips out of the house. I love the brown shade, which I use for the lid and crease. I put the navy in the crease as well, but not too much, just lightly. I find that this color combo is age appropriate and easy to use. I may just buy again ;) My only peeve is that the colors don't go well all together. They look to disco and cheap.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
MissHTinker 6/24/2009 1:23:00 PM
I love my lashes and I love finding new products to accentuate their length and curl. I was usingMaybelline NY's Intense Volume XXL (the one with two sides) before I bought this mascara. I really liked Maybelline's mascara, but I found it to be too time consuming when I could find another mascara that could do the same thing in half the time. I bought L'Oreal's mascara a couple of weeks ago and I love it! I bought it in black/brown, which brings out the blue in my gray eyes. It does a great job separating my lashes and depositing full color all the way to the tip of each lash. It isn't crumbly and hard, but it isn't slimy and oily either. More feathery soft, I'd say. The brush is small enough to reach the little corner lashes too, without making much mess. I haven't had to pick apart my lashes with a pin since I've used this either :) Another thing I love about this stuff is that it does good with second coats; it doesn't glob up and make 2 or 3 lashes look huge while the others look wimpy. Something I should point out, though, is that it isn't volumizing. It's just a good masara. So, this product does the job for me and my already long, curly lashes. Maybe not so well for people who depend on mascara for volume and curl.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Clean Makeup Fragrance Free [DISCONTINUED]
MissHTinker 6/24/2009 1:08:00 PM
I purchased this product after using a creme foundation. I was really happy with the switch, but I find that I need to apply a loose powder on top (the powder isn't completely sheer, and gives minimal to medium coverage on its own) of the foundation or I won't get enough coverage, even though I don't need much coverage anyway. My skin has yellow/olive undertones, and I was very happy with the color I chose (I believe it was the second lightest, an ivory color) since it didn't have much pink in it. It gives minimal to medium coverage when applied with the fingers or stippled on with a sponge wedge. Something I didn't like was that it felt heavy in some areas. It made the area around my upper lip sweat if the room wasn't really cool, so I kept having to dry my face or put a fan on it to dry it up. Another thing I didn't like was how it looked orange if I accidently got too much in one spot. Overall, I liked this product and will continue using my mixture of this plus the loose powder on top. I feel that the cons are not major and they're easy to work around.
